That's when Openaire caught my eye. With stellar reviews and stunning photos, its unique ambiance immediately drew me in. I saved it to my list, and on my most recent trip to LA, I finally had the chance to experience it!
To be upfront, while the food was good, it was the incredible atmosphere and setting that truly made Openaire a memorable brunch destination.

A Hotel Restaurant Open to Everyone
I initially thought Openaire might only be for hotel guests, but I was happily mistaken. Simply head into The LINE Hotel, take the elevator to the second floor, and you're there!
I arrived around 10:00 AM without a reservation and was seated immediately, though the space was already buzzing with people. There were hotel guests, of course, but also plenty of other travelers like me, looking for a great start to their day.
If you're staying in Koreatown and seeking a walkable brunch spot with a fantastic vibe, Openaire is an excellent choice.
Openaire's Interior: Like Dining in a Botanical Garden
The interior is truly breathtaking. My immediate thought upon entering was, "If I ever build a house, I want my backyard to look exactly like this!"
With a glass ceiling, natural sunlight floods the entire space, illuminating the large trees and abundant plants scattered throughout. It truly feels like a secret garden nestled within the hotel.
Instead of a typical air-conditioned restaurant, it felt more like enjoying brunch inside a tranquil conservatory. I didn't want my meal to end quickly! It's the kind of place where you'll want to order another coffee and linger for a while.
This "greenhouse concept" is what Openaire is famous for, and it absolutely delivers. Throughout my brunch, the atmosphere was calm and quiet, making time feel like it was gracefully slowing down.
Sharing is Caring: Our Brunch Spread
I went with some friends I met at my guesthouse, which meant we could order a variety of dishes to share!
The Eggs Benedict featured perfectly runny yolks, and the pancakes were surprisingly not too sweet, making them easy to enjoy without feeling overwhelmed.
The burrito was generously sized – American portions truly are something else! We were all still full well into the afternoon.
While the food was generally solid, I'd honestly say I'd return more for the stunning atmosphere than for the cuisine itself.

What I loved most about Openaire was the natural light.
You don't need to snag a window seat; the entire space is bathed in beautiful natural light, meaning every photo turns out wonderfully. The sunlight streaming through the windows, rather than artificial lighting, truly enhances the ambiance, making even quick phone snaps look professional.
With such perfect natural light, I'm curious to see what the atmosphere is like in the evening!
Perfect for Solo Diners or Groups
It was interesting to see quite a few people enjoying their breakfast alone, reading newspapers. The atmosphere felt completely comfortable for solo diners.
On the flip side, it would also be a fantastic spot for a romantic date or a casual brunch with friends. It truly caters to various occasions.

✔ Since natural light is key to its charm, the ambiance might not be as vibrant on a cloudy day.
