Planning an Okinawa Blue Cave tour? Discover why booking a tour with Naha or Kokusai Dori pickup is a game-changer for convenience and a truly magical snorkeling experience.
My Okinawa Blue Cave tour was incredible! 💙 If you're staying near Kokusai Dori, I highly recommend a tour that includes pickup for ultimate convenience.

One of the most anticipated parts of my Okinawa trip was the Blue Cave snorkeling tour.
The emerald waters and the sunlight filtering into the cave,
creating that ethereal blue glow, were absolutely breathtaking in person.

However, as I planned my trip, one major question weighed on my mind:
how to get to the Blue Cave?
Initially, I considered taking the bus. But after some research, I realized that since my accommodation was in the Naha Kokusai Dori area,
the travel time would be long, and multiple transfers would be required, making it quite inconvenient.
That's why I decided to book a Blue Cave tour that included pickup from Kokusai Dori well in advance, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of my trip.

Okinawa Blue Cave Tour Review|
Including Kokusai Dori Pickup
📍 Okinawa Blue Cave
469-1 Maeda, Onna, Kunigami District, Okinawa 904-0417 Japan
📍 Where is the Blue Cave located?
The Blue Cave is situated in Onna Village (恩納村) on the northwestern side of Okinawa's main island.
From Naha city center, where Kokusai Dori is located, it takes about 1 hour by car.

If you have a rental car, driving yourself is certainly an option. However, if you're relying solely on public transportation without a rental,
be prepared for a long journey with transfers, which can be quite cumbersome.
That's why choosing a tour based on your accommodation's location is truly important.
🏨 Your accommodation location determines your booking method!
After experiencing it firsthand, I realized that your accommodation's location is the most crucial factor.
✔ If you're staying in Kokusai Dori or Naha city center:
I strongly recommend a Blue Cave tour that includes pickup.
They pick you up directly from Kokusai Dori, take you to the tour location, and drop you back near your accommodation after snorkeling. It made the whole experience incredibly smooth.

✔ If you're staying in Onna Village, near the Blue Cave:
If you're already staying nearby, simply booking a standard snorkeling tour without pickup is perfectly sufficient.
The booking method varies depending on your accommodation's location, so be sure to double-check this!

🚐 My Review of the Okinawa Tour
with Pickup Included

Since I was staying at a hotel near Kokusai Dori, I made sure to book a tour with pickup included well in advance from home.
It turns out there aren't many tours offering Kokusai Dori pickup, so I was really glad I booked early.

On the day of the tour, I met my guide around 8:30 AM at the designated meeting point, and we headed off by car.
Perhaps because I visited during the off-peak season, it was just my friend and I in the vehicle, making it feel like a private tour – super comfortable!
Keep in mind that during peak season, multiple groups often share the transport.

🤿 Snorkeling was absolutely fantastic!
From gear fitting to safety instructions, everything was handled kindly and professionally, making it easy even for first-timers.

The ocean was incredibly clear, and as soon as I dipped into the water, tropical fish were swimming right before my eyes –
it was absolutely mesmerizing!

It's clear why this is one of Okinawa's top attractions.
The way the sunlight penetrates the water, creating that incredible blue hue, was truly magical.
Okinawa Blue Cave Tour Options

🍱 Don't forget to check if lunch is included!
When I was looking for tours, I found options that included:
- Pickup
- Snorkeling
- Photo shooting
And even some that included lunch!
Since the inclusions vary slightly by package, I highly recommend checking these three things before booking:
✔ Is pickup included?
✔ Are photos provided?
✔ Is lunch included?
Typically, including lunch adds about ~$13 to the price.

I chose a package without lunch, and they dropped us off at a rest stop where I grabbed some simple rice balls.
Tours with lunch usually cost around ~$77, while those without lunch are typically in the ~$63 to ~$64 range!
Even if the price differs slightly, choosing a package that aligns with your schedule will lead to a much more satisfying experience.
Okinawa Blue Cave Booking Tips

📌 Booking tips based on my actual experience:
✔ If staying in Kokusai Dori, a package with pickup is recommended.
✔ If you have a rental car, a standard tour is also an option.
✔ Book in advance during peak season.
✔ Confirm whether lunch is included.
✔ Also check if photos are provided.
Instead of offering photos per group, when I went, they charged over ~$19 per person for photos, which added up quite a bit when going with friends.
Therefore, I highly recommend choosing a package that includes photos, especially if you're traveling with a larger group!
Knowing just these few tips before booking will make your trip much smoother.

The Blue Cave is located in Onna Village on the northwest coast of Okinawa's main island, which takes about an hour by car from downtown Naha where Kokusai Dori is located. Since using public transportation requires transfers and takes a lot of time, it is highly recommended to use a rental car or book a tour that includes a pick-up service.
Tours that include lunch usually cost around ~$77, while those without lunch range from ~$63 to the low ~$64s. Depending on whether lunch is provided, there is a price difference of about ~$13, so you can choose according to your schedule.
If you are staying in Onna Village or near the Blue Cave, booking a standard snorkeling tour without a pick-up service is perfectly fine. However, if you are staying in downtown Naha or near Kokusai Dori, we recommend taking a tour with pick-up included for your convenience.
For tours that do not include complimentary photos, you may incur an additional cost of over ~$19 per person. If you are traveling with a large group, this expense can add up quickly, so it is advisable to choose a package that includes photo services when booking.
