so you only need to bring your personal water activity items!
The snorkeling gear they lent me included a snorkel,
fins, and a mask!
The individually packaged alcohol swabs (item #7) are important
because I felt a bit uncomfortable using a shared mask directly on my mouth!
So, I brought them to wipe it down~

The weather for swimming in Okinawa in January and February is...
a bit on the chilly side.
Oh, and guess what? I went snorkeling on
January 30th!
It was still quite cold, so it felt a bit nippy, but
swimming is such a great workout, it totally kept me warm!
Still, if you're looking for the absolute best time to go,
I'd say heading there after March would be perfect!

Don't expect a full-on shower experience.
The water pressure isn't great, and it's a paid service, so
I recommend just rinsing off quickly and saving your proper shower for back at your accommodation!

and reportedly, more fish!
Cons
Less light enters the Blue Cave,
so those iconic Blue Cave photos might not turn out as vibrant.

Since I went in January, even during an afternoon session,
it surprisingly wasn't crowded at all!
Plus, I planned my time around my itinerary,
so it all worked out perfectly!
I tried taking photos with my phone in a waterproof case,
but the focus just wasn't cooperating.
That's why the videos and photos our guide took with their GoPro
turned out so much more beautiful and crystal clear!
I really wanted to capture those vibrant blue fish in my video,
but the footage I got was...
totally out of focus! 😭
Thankfully, our guide took some videos for us,
so we salvaged some amazing memories!
