Ocean World Hongcheon Ticket Prices 2026: Discounts & Essential Tips
Just returned from Ocean World Hongcheon with the kids? Get the inside scoop on ticket prices, best discounts, and essential packing tips for your 2026 visit to this thrilling Korean water park.

Last week, I took my two kids to Ocean World in Hongcheon!

Maybe because it's the start of the peak summer season,
when you search for Ocean World, information just floods in,
but the actual details about fees and what to bring are scattered everywhere.
We went with a Sonobelle accommodation package, so
our admission tickets were included,
and after a full day of fun,
I realized there were quite a few things I wished I had known beforehand.
It wasn't just one or two!
Especially when it comes to buying tickets and what to pack,
your wallet can definitely feel the difference!
Today, I'm going to gather all the essential info in one place: from discounted Ocean World admission tickets and booking tips, to what to prepare,
and even my own firsthand tips for making the most of your visit.

Ocean World Essential Info
Location: Seo-myeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon Province
(Inside Vivaldi Park Resort)
2026 Summer Season: June 20th ~ August 30th
Operating Hours:
Indoor Zone 09:00~19:00
Outdoor Zone 09:00~18:00
Early Park-in 07:30 ~ 09:00
Fare Standards: Adults are middle school age and above,
Children are 36 months ~ elementary school age.
Children under 36 months get free admission
(Make sure to bring supporting documents like a health insurance card)
📍 Ocean World
262 Hanchigol-gil, Seo-myeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province
📍 Ocean World C Parking Lot
1279-2 Palbong-ri, Seo-myeon, Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province
Both of my kids are elementary school age, so they qualified for child fares.
Even tall children in upper elementary grades are considered children until they reach middle school.
Since middle schoolers and up pay adult fares,
many people get confused by this.
I'm sure you're most curious about Ocean World admission ticket prices and discounted rates.
Ocean World Admission Ticket Prices
1. Gold Season 1 Rates (July 11th ~ July 24th)
Category | Outdoor Locker (Weekdays / Weekends) | Indoor Locker (Weekdays / Weekends) |
Child (36 months ~ Elem.) | ~$47 / ~$50 | ~$50 / ~$58 |
Adult (Middle school & up) | ~$54 / ~$58 | ~$58 / ~$65 |
This is the period when weekday and weekend rates apply differently.
(Indoor lockers are ~$4 to ~$7 more expensive than outdoor lockers)
We visited on a weekday, so we paid an additional ~$4 to change our locker type.
We had 4 tickets and asked if we could change just two, but we were told that all 4 tickets had to be changed together, so we did.
2. Gold Season 2 (Peak Season) Rates (July 25th ~ August 17th)
Category | Outdoor Locker Rate | Indoor Locker Rate |
Child (36 months ~ Elem.) | ~$50 | ~$58 |
Adult (Middle school & up) | ~$58 | ~$65 |
This is the busiest period when a single rate applies, regardless of weekdays or weekends.
(On-site payment, no distinction between adult/child)
If you calculate for a family of four,
adding 4 tickets and renting 4 life vests (~$23), the total can vary by tens of dollars depending on where you purchase them.
Buying at the full on-site price is the most expensive option.
It's always best to buy online in advance,
but the package details vary depending on where you purchase.
First, the official website (Sono Hotels & Resorts)
Online-exclusive products are cheaper than on-site prices,
and summer season passes can be used anytime within the validity period without a specific date,
which is great for flexible plans.
You just need to check the weekday/weekend rate distinction.
Second, travel platforms like Klook
They often have special seasonal deals, and you receive a mobile voucher,
with some products allowing direct entry without going to the ticket booth.
However, they are only usable from the day after purchase,
so same-day purchase and use are not possible.
Many people end up in trouble trying to buy tickets in the parking lot,
because they don't know this.
On travel platforms,
make sure to book at least one day in advance.
Third, open marketplaces / social commerce sites
Products including lockers often appear,
but always double-check if it's for an outdoor or indoor locker.
Indoor lockers are much more convenient for navigating.
If there's availability on-site, you can pay an additional fee
to upgrade to an indoor locker.

After doing some research,
it seems like you can still find admission tickets for less than ~$36,
and Naver Rental Shop seems to offer the best deals.
Just in case, compare prices in real-time!

By the way, if you're planning an overnight stay or longer like us,
definitely compare accommodation packages too!
We booked a package that bundled a Sonobelle room with breakfast and 4 admission tickets.
We booked the package for approximately ~$219,
and if you calculate it by deducting the ticket price, the accommodation cost significantly decreases,
making this a better option for families.

Ocean World Must-Haves
There are essential items you need to bring when going to Ocean World.
1. Definitely pack aqua shoes.
They're mandatory, so if you don't have them, pool and attraction access will be restricted. Regular slippers or flip-flops aren't allowed.
The wave pool floor is rougher than you might expect,
so going barefoot will hurt your soles.
We brought them for all four of us, and it was definitely the right choice.

Make sure to bring standard life vests.
Children's tube-style vests aren't allowed in deeper areas.
If you have them at home, it's definitely beneficial to bring them.
Renting for 4 people costs ~$23.
(It seems like rental shops offer them for half the price,
so it might be okay to rent there.)
2. Also bring towels.
Even if you're a hotel guest, you can't take room towels out.
Renting on-site costs ~$1 per towel,
making it ~$4 for 4 towels.
You can leave your belongings in one spot, so try to bring them if possible.
3. A waterproof pouch comes in handy.
There's actually a lot to do inside, like making payments and taking photos,
and wasting time going back and forth to the locker is a pity.
Your phone, lip tint, and sun cream are essentials.
Going back and forth from the wave pool to the indoor lockers
is practically from one end to the other ㅠㅠ It was exhausting.
4. Use waterproof sunscreen and reapply it two or more times.
When playing in the outdoor zone, your back and the tops of your feet are most prone to getting sunburned.

Ocean World Tips and Tricks
Time management is crucial here.
Especially if you're with kids, you'll want to minimize waiting times.
I thoroughly researched when we went to Everland,
but this time, I just went with the flow;
we only rode two attractions.
In the morning, everyone flocks to the slide zone.
Popular attractions like Monster Blaster
can have waiting times of up to two or three hours in the afternoon during peak season,
so if slides are your goal, you should head there right after opening.
Conversely, if you mainly want to enjoy the wave pool and lazy river,
the morning is quieter.
Our kids are still a bit scared of the big slides,
so in the morning, we played at the kids' playground, rode one attraction,
and spent time in the lazy river.
After a late lunch,
the afternoon got too hot, so we moved to the indoor zone via the lazy river,
and the flow worked really well.
The indoor zone has warm water, so it's perfect to move to when the kids' lips start turning blue.
Playing indoors was great for relaxing and warming up.
The Aqua Zone and Extreme Zone attractions
are generally good for elementary school-aged children to enjoy,
while the Dynamic Zone is for adults who love thrilling rides.
Among the Mega Slide Zone attractions, those that accommodate 4 to 6 people are also popular with elementary school-aged children.

✔ Ocean World operates normally even on rainy days.
If the weather is cloudy, there are fewer people,
making cloudy days a blessing for families with children.
✔ It's also helpful to know the payment methods in advance.
Inside Ocean World, you can pay using mobile coins or
directly with a credit/debit card.
However, it's cumbersome to take out your phone while playing in the water,
so it's better to set specific snack or meal times
and make all your payments then.
We decided to make payments once for lunch and once for snacks.

✔ For those arriving without a car, there's a convenient shuttle bus service!
It operates by region and requires advance reservations,
so be sure to book by the day before you plan to use it.
✔ If you're driving via the Seoul-Yangyang Expressway,
exiting at Namchuncheon IC is the quickest route.
During peak season weekends, the parking lot fills up fast,
so we recommend arriving well before opening hours to snag a spot!
✔ Parking lot C is the closest to the entrance, making it super convenient!

To sum it all up:
If you're planning an overnight stay or longer, your first step should be comparing accommodation packages.
And remember, by just packing aqua shoes, a life jacket, and a towel,
you can save tens of dollars on-site!
Keep in mind that peak season rates and operating hours can change often,
so always double-check Ocean World's official website before your visit.
Wishing you and your kids a wonderfully cool summer! Enjoy! Haha
