With so many flights arriving in Cairo in the wee hours,

I bet many of you are looking for a place to catch some Z's near the airport, even if just for a little while.

Especially if you're heading straight to your next adventure

or have an awkward layover,

your hotel choice can really make or break your travel experience.

Since we also landed in Cairo bright and early, we scouted for a place that allowed late check-ins

and ended up at Ocean Blue Studios.

I'm excited to share our detailed experience with you!

01. Location, Check-in, and Pricing

Check-in 3:00 PM – 6:00 AM

Check-out Before 12:00 PM

Ocean Blue Studios is conveniently located

in the Heliopolis district,

just about a 10-minute drive from Cairo International Airport.

The front desk is pretty much always open,

which meant we could check in even when we arrived at 3 AM – talk about convenience!

Plus, our stay included access to an outdoor pool and

breakfast,

which we were happily informed about during check-in.

02. Inside the Room

We actually booked this place without huge expectations, just needing a spot to crash before moving on the next day,

but the interior was surprisingly clean overall!

The room came with all the basic necessities,

the bathroom was spotless, and it definitely

wasn't too cramped for organizing our luggage.

So, if you're looking for an affordable, great-value spot

for a short stay in Cairo,

I'd say this is a pretty solid choice!

When we compared the same dates,

it was clearly about

~$18 cheaper to book through Agoda.

Prices might vary slightly depending on your travel dates,

so I'd definitely recommend checking both sites!

03. Breakfast and Other Facilities

Right next to the breakfast restaurant,

there was an incredibly refreshing-looking pool!

If I'd had a bit more time, I would have definitely used the pool!

It was such a shame I was only staying for a short while,

because the pool's condition looked absolutely fantastic.

And perhaps that's why I saw so many people

already enjoying a morning swim!

With breakfast provided right at the hotel,

there was no need to venture out

before catching my flight!

As soon as I settled into a table with the cutlery already laid out,

they brought over a delightful breakfast basket.

The menu was incredibly varied and generous, featuring yogurt, juice, jam, cream cheese, butter

and even a cinnamon roll and a croissant!

The only minor downside was

that there wasn't a shuttle service to the airport.

Since we had luggage, we ended up calling a taxi to get there,

but if you're looking to truly minimize your travel time to and from the airport,

I'd definitely recommend the Novotel Cairo Airport instead.

That hotel is just a 1-2 minute drive from the airport

and boasts a fantastic 24-hour free shuttle service,

making it an incredibly manageable distance even if you chose to walk.

To sum it up:

If you're planning to just catch a few winks before continuing your journey

and want to save as much as possible, then Ocean Blue Studio is a fantastic choice.

However, if you've got a lot of luggage and minimizing your airport transfer time is a top priority,

then Novotel Cairo Airport could be more convenient.

Once your travel dates are locked in,

make sure to check for available rooms on your preferred dates right away!
