For our last night's accommodation, we stayed in Noboribetsu, Sapporo.
There were several ryokans in Noboribetsu,
but Sekisuitei Ryokan (石水亭) seemed convenient to get to with its shuttle bus service and the price was reasonable, so I booked here!

1. Noboribetsu Onsen, Sapporo
The Noboribetsu region is a captivating coastal city located in the southwest Nikkatsu area of Hokkaido.
In Ainu, 'Noboribetsu' beautifully translates to 'dark-colored river' — a hint at the rich natural wonders awaiting you!
Mount Hiyoriyama, one of the inland mountains, is an **active volcano, so there are abundant hot springs nearby**, and the entire area is designated as Shikotsu-Toya National Park~ It’s truly a nature lover's paradise!
It's renowned for its incredible hot springs, which means you'll find a fantastic selection of ryokans in this area.

Dai-ichi Takimotokan, Sekisuitei, Karurusu Onsen
Near Noboribetsu Onsen, you can also marvel at **natural sulfur hot springs like Oyunuma and Jigokudani (Hell Valley)**.

2. Noboribetsu Ryokan Sekisuitei
Among the three famous ryokans, the one I chose was Sekisuitei (石水亭).
The reason? They **operate a shuttle bus**, so you can conveniently **take a 2-hour bus ride directly from Sapporo Station**! Super easy!
To get to a Noboribetsu ryokan, you usually have to take an express train or a highway bus!
You often have to transfer, and it's quite tough to drag luggage around in the snow.

3. Sekisuitei (Sekisui Tei) Room Interior Layout
I fell in love with this layout at first sight,
which is why I booked Sekisuitei (Sekisui Tei)!
It boasts both a tatami area and twin beds!
The price was in the low ~$207 range~
(Based on peak season, January)
Who knew I'd be staying in such a fantastic room on a solo trip?!
This is exactly what I saved up for!
If a place truly captures my heart, I'm going for it!
That ~$207 for one night was absolutely worth every penny!!
This price actually includes access to the ryokan's grand public bath, breakfast, and dinner!
With comfortable beds like these,
I just had to book this place since I'm not a fan of sleeping on the floor!
In the closet, you'll find these charming yukata!
Sekisuitei (Sekisui Tei) Accommodation Pro Tip: Booking
There's a wide array of room options available, and among them,
I noticed a price difference depending on whether yukata are included or not.
So, I decided to run a little experiment:
I booked the "yukata not included" option (which was cheaper), and guess what? When I got to my room, the yukata were still there!
Go ahead and book the cheaper option!
On the tatami area, you'll find a TV and
a closet for futon bedding.
In front of the twin beds, there's a comfy chair.
On the tatami, you'll also find a hairdryer and towels for your yukata.
With additional futons available,
this room can comfortably accommodate up to 5 people.
I think it's the perfect size for a family trip!
On the tatami desk, you'll find a helpful internal map of Sekisuitei (Sekisui Tei).
The bathroom is wonderfully compact and cozy!
It even has a bathtub,
It's an older place, but it's kept impeccably clean!
Amenities are provided, and everything is spotless.
And from the window, you can see the grand Sekisuitei hotel!
It seems to be connected by several wings!
With so many wonderful things to explore,
Sekisuitei Ryokan!

4. Sekisuitei Onsen Location and Opening Hours
Two large public baths (Daiyokujo)
Available 24 hours
(Unavailable from 2 AM - 3 AM / 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM)
They are unavailable during these early morning and morning hours for cleaning.

The large public baths are located in the two wings on the left.
There's one large public bath on the 7th floor of the leftmost wing,
and another large public bath on the 8th floor of the middle wing.
I made sure to visit both of these!
To really make the most of the experience~
Both were fantastic!
In total, there are three dining areas, all located on the basement floor!
As you can see, there are many tourist spots conveniently located near Noboribetsu Sekisuitei.

5. Sekisuitei: Breakfast & Dinner Times
Breakfast: Entry 7:00-7:30 AM / Closes 9:00 PM
Dinner: Entry 5:00-5:15 PM / Closes 9:30 PM
Once you're in, you can enjoy your meal with no time limit!
I went for dinner,
and it was a buffet style! Being able to enjoy Genghis Khan was a real highlight!
The buffet offered such a wide variety,
so trying out different dishes was really fun~
I was so excited in my yukata, I just had to take some photos!
I checked out early in the morning,
and it was super fast using that machine!
I only paid for the 1000 JPY shuttle bus and the 300 JPY bath tax
when checking out!
Since I used an express bus from Noboribetsu to the airport,
the shuttle bus was just a one-way trip, costing 1000 JPY.
