Nest Hotel Sapporo Odori Review 2026: Best Beer Festival Stay
Discover why Nest Hotel Sapporo Odori is the ultimate budget-friendly base for the 2026 Sapporo Summer Beer Festival, just steps from Odori Park.
Looking back at last year's Sapporo Beer Festival,
it was undoubtedly the most highly anticipated part of my entire Sapporo itinerary.
Summer in Sapporo is a breath of fresh air—literally. With temperatures hovering comfortably in the mid-70s°F and practically zero humidity compared to the rest of Asia,
the crisp night air makes it
the absolute perfect setting to enjoy a cold pint outdoors.
And the ultimate place to soak in that summer magic is
the legendary Sapporo Beer Festival.

When planning our Sapporo trip,
I knew I didn't want to deal with squeezing onto a packed subway train after a night of drinking.
I wanted the convenience of strolling back to my room whenever I felt like it,
so booking a hotel within walking distance of Odori Park was a top priority.
We ended up choosing
the Nest Hotel Sapporo Odori.
If you're looking to fully experience the beer festival,
this budget-friendly hotel is an absolute winner when it comes to location.
1. Sapporo Beer Festival 2026 Schedule
The Sapporo Beer Festival is
a massive summer celebration lasting about a month,
held right in the heart of the city at Odori Park.

By day, Odori Park is a peaceful, leisurely green space...

But as night falls, it transforms into a buzzing, vibrant beer garden.
The festival typically runs from mid-July to mid-August.
For those planning ahead, the 2026 schedule
is officially set for 07/23/2026 to 08/18/2026.
Operating hours are usually from 5:00 PM to around 11:00 PM.
During this time, the entirety of Odori Park essentially becomes one giant open-air tavern.

You'll find massive, dedicated seating areas for all of Japan's heavyweight beer brands,
including Sapporo, Asahi, Kirin, and Suntory.
Each brand's booth also serves up its own unique menu of bar snacks to pair with your brews.

When I visited on a weekday last year,
it was definitely crowded and full of energy,
but not so packed that we couldn't find a table.
The system is simple: order your beer and food at your preferred brand's booth,
grab an empty seat, and enjoy.

I spent most of my time at the Asahi tent.
There's just something magical about sipping an ice-cold draft beer outdoors on a breezy summer evening.
Surprisingly, it's a very family-friendly event. I saw plenty of families with young kids
alongside groups of office workers relaxing after a long day.
It's a welcoming, laid-back vibe for all ages.
Pro tip: Last year, the festival operated entirely on a cashless system,
meaning no physical cash was accepted.
While the rules might tweak slightly for this year,
I highly recommend bringing a credit card or digital wallet just in case!
2. Why Odori Park is the Best Area to Stay
When booking accommodation in Sapporo, travelers usually choose between three main hubs:
✅ Sapporo Station
✅ Odori
✅ Susukino
These are the big three.
While each neighborhood has its own perks,
if your summer itinerary includes hitting up the beer festival,
staying near Odori Park is by far the most convenient option.

Being able to hang out at the festival until late at night,
without a single worry about catching the last subway,
and taking a leisurely stroll back to the room was an absolute game-changer.
3. Nest Hotel Odori: Family Triple Room Review
My home base for this Sapporo trip was
the Nest Hotel Sapporo Odori.

Nest Hotel is a well-known, budget-friendly business hotel chain across Japan,
and its biggest selling point here is being mere steps from Odori Park.

You can easily walk to the bustling Susukino nightlife district,
and the famous Tanukikoji Shopping Arcade—a must-visit on any Sapporo itinerary—is barely a 3-minute walk away.
Location-wise, I was incredibly satisfied.
Factoring in our daily visits to the beer festival,
it made our daily routes and logistics incredibly smooth.

The front desk operates 24/7,
and the staff were exceptionally welcoming and helpful.

There's an amenity bar set up in the lobby.
While it isn't the most extensive selection I've seen,
it had all the essential toiletries you'd need for a comfortable stay.

We booked the
Family Triple Room.
The interior decor does show a bit of its age,
and they still use traditional physical room keys rather than modern RFID keycards.

It might not have that ultra-modern, shiny new hotel feel,
but it was perfectly spacious and comfortable for three adults,

and the bathroom was standard for a Japanese business hotel—compact, spotlessly clean, and stocked with the necessities.
Considering the affordable price tag,
the sheer convenience of the location makes this hotel an absolute steal.
The hotel does offer a breakfast buffet in their rooftop restaurant,
but we opted out of adding it to our reservation.

Instead, we grabbed quick bites from the nearby Lawson convenience store
and enjoyed morning coffees at Komeda's Coffee, a classic Japanese cafe chain.
Komeda's is literally a 2-minute walk away, which was incredibly convenient.
It was the perfect, easy way to fuel up
before heading out to explore more of Sapporo.
The Verdict: A Solid Choice
Near the Sapporo Beer Festival
For this Sapporo trip,
our philosophy was "the hotel is just for sleeping."
We prioritized budget and location above all else,
and by those metrics, the Nest Hotel thoroughly exceeded our expectations.
The absolute highlight was being able to enjoy the Odori Park beer festival late into the night
and simply walk back to our beds without any hassle.
If you're planning a summer trip to Sapporo
and need a budget-friendly, highly convenient base
near Odori Park and the festival grounds,
Nest Hotel Sapporo Odori should definitely be on your radar.

so I highly recommend securing your room well in advance.
