While Phan Rang is gaining popularity, Mui Ne still reigns supreme as a top destination. Its undeniable charm lies in the breathtaking White and Red Sand Dunes, which offer incredible photo opportunities, especially when explored via a local jeep. The main drawback, however, is the journey from Nha Trang, which can be quite a trek.

So, ready to embark on an unforgettable adventure in Mui Ne, Vietnam?

First off, Mui Ne tours generally come in two main flavors: sunset or sunrise. Your choice depends on whether you want to witness a stunning sunset or a magical sunrise. Picking the sunset option means dedicating your entire day to the tour, leaving no time for other activities. A sunrise tour, on the other hand, typically wraps up by late morning, freeing up your afternoon for independent exploration. (Just a heads-up, the overnight travel for a sunrise tour can be quite exhausting!)

For my trip, I opted for the Nha Trang Mui Ne Sunrise Tour.

The pickup usually happens around midnight from Cam Ranh Airport. Many travelers head straight to the tour right after their flight, luggage and all!

From there, it's a journey of just under 4 hours, so it's the perfect time to catch some sleep.

Upon arrival, you'll see a fleet of jeeps gathering, ready for the adventure.

Waking up from a short nap, I was pretty groggy. But as soon as we started driving, the cool breeze and the thrill of the ride quickly woke me up and lifted my spirits.

After about a 30-minute drive, we reached the first stop on our Vietnam Nha Trang Mui Ne tour: the stunning White Sand Dunes.

Dawn was just breaking. From this point, you'll need to ride an ATV to explore the dunes, so make sure to hold onto your ticket for the return journey!

Even before the sun fully rose (which, of course, is the point!), there were already plenty of tourists here.

Many people choose to wear white or light-colored clothing for photos, as it really pops against the dunes. Then there are those who intentionally wear bright, vibrant colors to stand out from the crowd. And then there's me... who just wore whatever! Haha.

The sky had that pre-dawn hue, as if the sun was teasing us from behind the horizon. But with all those clouds, I wondered if we'd actually get to see the sunrise.

Before we knew it, the day had fully dawned. The sun remained hidden behind the clouds, and morning simply arrived! Haha.

If you've ever chased a sunrise or sunset, you know it's all about luck with the weather and cloud cover.

For the descent, we hopped back on the ATVs. The steep slopes make for a surprisingly thrilling ride!

Back at the parking lot, a vibrant array of jeeps awaited us.

My hot pink jeep was supposedly a popular choice, though I thought the yellow one looked pretty cool too.

Next up was the photo stop segment, where we pulled over at designated spots to capture some amazing shots. The drivers are pros at this!

While my photos look like I had the whole place to myself, the reality is there were lines of jeeps and drivers expertly helping everyone strike different poses! Haha.

The next stop was a dragon fruit farm. Hmm. I decided to pass on that one.

These are the Red Sand Dunes. While beauty is subjective, many visitors find these even more picturesque than the White Sand Dunes.

Here, you can take in both the desert and the ocean in one sweeping view (though, technically, they are sand dunes).

Our final stop was the Fairy Stream. You take off your shoes and wade through the gently flowing water to discover this unique landscape. Some call it the 'Little Grand Canyon of Asia,' but I wouldn't go that far! Haha.

By the time the Mui Ne jeep tour concludes, it's typically around 8:00 AM.

Breakfast was at Sindbad Kebab. I didn't feel particularly hungry before, but all that exploring definitely worked up an appetite by this point!

The food was surprisingly good quality and delicious, with generous portions. Finishing that kebab on the right definitely filled me up! I'd certainly recommend the Mui Ne jeep tour.

Keep in mind that tour packages can vary slightly between operators, so it's a good idea to compare options and choose one that best suits your preferences.

While the long journey took a bit of a toll on my energy, the Nha Trang Mui Ne tour was absolutely worth it for how thoroughly it covered all the must-see spots.
