Hong Phat Seafood Mui Ne Review: Affordable Beachfront Dining
Searching for authentic and affordable seafood in Mui Ne? Dive into our review of Hong Phat Seafood, a local favorite offering fresh catches and stunning beachfront views.
When you travel to Mui Ne,
you absolutely have to try the seafood, right? Haha!
We were on the hunt for a great Mui Ne restaurant
where we could feast on fresh seafood right by the ocean,
and that's how we discovered Hong Phat Seafood Restaurant.

To cut to the chase, we actually went there twice, lol!
When I travel, I usually prefer to try a new restaurant for every meal, not wanting to "waste" a single culinary experience.
But after trying Hong Phat on our first day, we were so impressed with both the prices and the food,
we just had to visit one more time before leaving Mui Ne.
On our first visit, the four of us ordered a variety of dishes: shrimp, crayfish,
razor clams, stir-fried morning glory, and even fried rice.
The total came out to about 1.4 million VND (that's roughly ~$52)!

Our second visit, we indulged in scallops, squid, fried shrimp, and more,
plus beer and drinks, and the bill was around 946,000 VND.
If you're looking for an affordable Mui Ne restaurant with great value, perfect for sharing a variety of dishes,
let me tell you all about it.

📢 Getting There: Use Grab

Hong Phat Seafood Restaurant is located right by the Mui Ne sea.
We used Grab from our accommodation, and surprisingly, it was quite easy to find a ride in Mui Ne,
so getting there wasn't a problem at all.
What I loved most was the location!

With the ocean right in front, if you get a good spot,
you can enjoy your seafood with a stunning sea view.
When you've traveled all the way to Mui Ne,
eating in such a vibrant atmosphere, rather than just indoors,
really enhances that travel feeling.
It felt more like an authentic local eatery, a place where you can casually enjoy seafood right by the sea,
rather than a fancy, high-end restaurant.
2. Atmosphere Inside

Upon arrival, the first thing that caught my eye
was the array of fresh seafood displayed right at the front.
You can actually see what seafood is available, and the cooking area was quite open,
which was reassuring.
When eating seafood on an international trip,
you can't help but be a little concerned about hygiene and freshness, right?

I admit, I was a little worried at first,
but being able to see the seafood and the cooking area firsthand really put my mind at ease.
And the staff were incredibly friendly too!

On our second visit, in particular,
I'm not sure if it was because we ordered a lot or if they were just being extra kind to us Koreans, lol,
but after our meal, they even gave us complimentary watermelon!
We had returned because both the food and the prices were excellent on our first visit,
and our second visit was just as delightful, leaving us completely satisfied.
3. The Menu

On our first visit, the four of us ordered two fried rice dishes,
shrimp, two crayfish,
stir-fried morning glory, and stir-fried razor clams.
Since we came all the way for seafood, we decided to try a bit of everything,
and the total bill came to about 1.4 million VND.
At the current exchange rate, that's roughly ~$52 to ~$59,
and considering four of us ate until we were full,
it was actually quite affordable!

The stir-fried razor clams, in particular, were about 150,000 VND,
and the portion was quite generous.
After trying it on the first day and finding it great,
On our second visit,
we intentionally ordered different menu items.
Grilled scallops, grilled squid,
grilled shrimp, and even fried shrimp!

The grilled scallops were 150,000 VND, and the fried shrimp were 180,000 VND
roughly.
Seafood prices can vary depending on the type, size,
and season, so
please only use the prices I've noted as a reference.
It's always most accurate to check the prices
of the day before ordering.
4. Taste Review

My unexpected top pick here was the fried rice, haha!
Since we came all the way to a seafood restaurant in Mui Ne,
I naturally thought that shrimp or crayfish
would be the most memorable.
But the fried rice was surprisingly delicious,
and the chili soy sauce served with it truly complemented it.
It was tasty on its own,
but adding a little bit of the chili soy sauce made it so
addictive, I just kept eating it!

The stir-fried razor clams were satisfying too!
I remember once, in a touristy destination,
I ordered seafood
and was disappointed because the portion was too small for the price.
That was a real shame.
Here, for about 150,000 VND, there was enough for four people to share,
so the value for money was excellent.

We also ordered stir-fried water spinach (morning glory),
and having it intermittently while continuously eating seafood
was a great pairing.
If you love morning glory as much as I do,
I highly recommend ordering a plate with your meal! Haha.

The staff even prepared the shrimp for us, making them easy to eat,
which was another plus.
When you eat seafood, it's delicious, but
peeling shells can get messy and surprisingly annoying, right? Haha.
Thanks to them, we ate much more comfortably.
And since we were so satisfied on the first day, we visited again the day before our trip ended!
This time, instead of crayfish,
we ordered dishes we hadn't tried before.

The grilled scallops were 150,000 VND,
and the portion was good for the price,
making it great for sharing among several people.

The grilled squid wasn't the kind where the seasoning
penetrates deeply into every bite.
Instead, there was a generous amount of squid, and it had a wonderfully chewy texture,
so we enjoyed this one quite a bit too.

But the most delicious thing on our second visit was
the fried shrimp!
Unlike the fried shrimp commonly eaten in Korea,
the batter wasn't thick.
The shrimp inside was incredibly plump,
so rather than feeling like I was eating fried food,
it felt more like truly savoring the shrimp itself.
This was much more delicious than I expected, and I highly recommend it!

On that day, we also ordered beer and drinks,
and the total came out to about 946,000 VND.
For four people enjoying various seafood dishes,
along with alcohol and beverages,
it was around ~$37 at the exchange rate at the time,
so I still felt it was great value for money on our second visit.
Honestly, when you're traveling,
it's not easy to go to the same restaurant twice, is it?
There are so many dishes you haven't tried yet,
and you want to explore new delicious spots.
But after eating there on the first day,
we decided, "Let's come back here one more time at the end!" Haha.
And we really did come back.
I think that's the most definitive review
I can give for Hong Phat Seafood Restaurant.
5. Who I Recommend It For

If you're looking for a great restaurant in Mui Ne
where you want to try various types of seafood,
but don't want to spend a fortune,
then I highly recommend this place.
It's especially great if you're traveling with 3-4 people.
We also visited as a group of four, which allowed us to share
a little bit of many different dishes like shrimp, crayfish,
razor clams, scallops, and squid.
Being able to eat right by the ocean was also a wonderful bonus!

Instead of expecting a fancy, beautiful restaurant,
it's probably better to visit with the mindset of enjoying fresh seafood
in a relaxed, local eatery.
It's definitely worth considering if you're looking for an authentic Mui Ne local favorite
or a great value seafood spot!
Just a heads-up, seafood prices can vary depending on the type and size,
so always confirm the price before you order.

On our first visit, the bill was approximately 1.4 million VND,
and the second time it was around 946,000 VND.
Considering that both times were for four people, we were incredibly satisfied!
What's more, we loved it so much after our first meal that
we just had to go back again before leaving Mui Ne!
If you're on the hunt for a fantastic spot in Mui Ne to savor fresh seafood
right by the ocean without breaking the bank, then Hong Phat Seafood Restaurant
is definitely worth checking out :)
