I just had to visit Miyakojima as soon as the new direct flights launched!

To fully soak in the stunning emerald-colored waters known as 'Miyako Blue,'

staying at an ocean-view resort was an absolute must!

That's how I found and booked this amazing,

budget-friendly ocean-view hotel right on Miyakojima's southern coast 🩵

Hotel Exterior & Interior

It's located only about 10 to 15 minutes by car from Miyako Airport,

making it super convenient and easy to get to!

As soon as we picked up our rental car at the airport,

we headed straight to the hotel and were greeted by this cute pink building! 🎀

While it was neat, clean, and well-maintained,

you can definitely tell it's an older building.

I read quite a few reviews mentioning a smell in the elevator,

but honestly, I didn't notice anything bothersome at all.

Though the fresh coat of paint was clearly meant to mask its age,

the soft pastel pink actually gave it a charming,

cinematic vibe that I really liked! 🎀

Room Condition

Type A1 Western Style Room / 2 nights (2 guests) / ~$162

We were assigned a room

on the 3rd floor!

⚠️ I read reviews saying Western-style rooms have

less of a musty smell than Japanese tatami rooms, so I booked a Western-style room!

The Western-style Type A1 room we booked

didn't have any noticeable smell at all!

It was super spacious, so opening up two large

suitcases was no trouble at all.

I loved that the shower and sink area were separate!

While it doesn't have that ultra-luxurious hotel vibe,

it was exceptionally clean and neat, just as you'd expect in Japan.

There's a closet to hang your clothes and even a

washing machine, which would be incredibly convenient for longer stays!

There is a small kitchen, making it easy to whip up simple meals.

Equipped with tableware, an induction cooktop, refrigerator, microwave, and electric kettle,

it's the perfect apartment-style stay!

Since breakfast isn't included, families traveling together

can easily grab some food from a nearby supermarket or convenience store

and have a cozy meal in the room.

And now for the part I was looking forward to the most—the balcony view 🩵🌊

It was a dream balcony overlooking

the gorgeous emerald-blue ocean!

It's the perfect spot to gaze out at the ocean,

sipping a warm cup of tea in the morning,

and unwinding with a cold beer in the evening after swimming! 🍻

Whether the sun was high in the sky,

or rising and setting, every single moment was absolutely breathtaking! 🩵

The ocean in Miyakojima is even more stunning in person,

so I highly recommend booking an ocean-view room

for at least two nights of your trip!

Wellness Villa Brissa is

one of the official properties of Shigira Resort.

Because of this,

guests can use the shared swimming pool at Breeze Bay Marina.

Getting to stay at a more budget-friendly rate,

while still enjoying access to the Breeze Bay Marina pool,

makes this an absolute value-for-money gem!

It's only a 12-minute walk or a quick 2-minute drive

from the villa to Breeze Bay Marina,

so getting there was incredibly easy and convenient!

We hung out at the outdoor pool which offers a distant view of the ocean,

and since there was no one else around when we went,

we had the entire pool all to ourselves! 🏊🏻‍♀️

Wellness Villa Brisa doesn't have its own breakfast.

Instead, you can pay extra to add breakfast

at Breeze Bay Marina!

So, for one of our two days there,

we decided to purchase breakfast and give it a try!

The breakfast venue offered a sweeping view of the ocean.

It was such a healing experience, eating breakfast with that view first thing in the morning 🩵

The spread ranges from Japanese to Western dishes—

it's a super diverse buffet-style breakfast!

Everything tasted so good, we piled our plates high!

Since it's a wonderfully hearty way to start your day,

I highly recommend giving it a try for at least one of your mornings!

Getting to use the Breeze Bay Marina pool and breakfast buffet

while staying at a more budget-friendly rate made this a truly

fantastic value-for-money ocean view hotel!

We absolutely loved it as a couple, but

with the spacious rooms, full kitchen, and in-unit washing machine,

it would also be an incredible place for a family vacation.
