My husband and I wanted a quick weekend getaway without traveling too far from Seoul.
So, we decided to treat ourselves to a cozy staycation at a Japanese-style ryokan right in Suwon!
Here is my honest review of the Mitasuya Ryokan Hotel by Aneuk, a hidden gem in Ingye-dong.

1. How to Get There & Parking
📍 Mitasuya Ryokan Hotel by Aneuk (Suwon Ingye Branch)

The hotel is super easy to find! It is about a 0.4-mile walk (approx. 8 minutes) from Exits 7 and 8 of Suwon City Hall Station on the Suin-Bundang Line.
They have a dedicated parking lot, making it extremely convenient if you are driving.
Doesn't the exterior look brand new and stylish? Ingye-dong is packed with hotels, but Mitasuya really stands out with its modern Japanese aesthetic.
Here is the parking lot I mentioned. If you know Suwon, you know that parking in Ingye-dong can be an absolute nightmare. Having a secure, private parking space here is a massive lifesaver! 🤩
2. Hotel Lobby & Check-in
As soon as you walk in, you will see the front desk. If you arrive during unstaffed hours, you can easily check in using the self-service kiosk on the left.
Right next to the counter, they have a self-service station stocked with aromatic hinoki (cypress) bath balls, extra towels, tissues, and paper cups. There is also a microwave, which is perfect if you want to bring back some local street food or late-night snacks!
I really wish we had more time to enjoy a long soak with those hinoki bath balls! 🥹
3. Standard Twin Room Tour
The ryokan theme isn't just limited to the rooms—the hallways are beautifully designed with a clean, minimalist Japanese aesthetic. It truly feels like escaping to Kyoto! 💜

Can you believe this is in South Korea? Getting to experience authentic tatami flooring without booking a flight to Japan is amazing!
The twin beds are incredibly spacious. Although the room is listed for two guests, the space is generous enough that it could easily accommodate up to four people comfortably.
Along with the tatami mats, the low-seating floor table next to the bed adds such a cozy, traditional Japanese touch.
They even provide a beautiful traditional tea set (chado) so you can brew some warm tea and fully immerse yourself in the zen atmosphere. 💜
The mini-fridge was stocked with four complimentary bottles of water, which was perfect for someone like me who drinks tons of water! 🤣🤣
An electric kettle, a hair dryer, and basic skincare amenities were also neatly provided.
The pillows here aren't your standard, overly soft hotel pillows. They are high-quality, ergonomic pillows designed for neck support. I actually use a similar one at home, so I slept like an absolute baby even though it was a new bed! 😉
The bathroom was quite spacious, featuring a clean bathtub and sink setup. For toiletries, they provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Just a heads up: toothbrushes and toothpaste are not included, so make sure to pack your own! ✌️
While we stayed in the Standard Twin, Mitasuya Ryokan also offers cool themed rooms like massage rooms, movie rooms, and even comic book rooms! It is a fantastic spot to enjoy with friends or your significant other. 🩷
