For the LA steak hotspot, Meat on Ocean,
I highly recommend making a reservation in advance.

you'll see many American locals enjoying their steaks here.
Making a reservation isn't difficult.
✅ Simply make a reservation for your desired date and time!

✅Just a heads-up: steak prices can fluctuate a bit daily!

In the US, many steak restaurants set their prices based on market value.
And when you order by weight, they'll serve you that exact amount of meat.
If you find yourself at Meet on Ocean and are a bit unsure about ordering,
feel free to follow our recommendations!

Four of us ladies visited, and for our steaks, we went big!
We ordered a 21-ounce (600g) Bone-in Ribeye Steak
and a massive 28-ounce (800g) T-bone Steak.

To round out our meal, we added some delicious side dishes and a fresh salad.
The sides and salad came to around ~$14.
While steak prices do vary a bit depending on the aging period and quality,
you can expect around ~$90 for 600 grams!
(Approximately ~$83)

So, our full order was:
2 steaks, 2 sides, 1 appetizer, and 1 salad.
Four of us ladies ate our fill with that generous spread, so
if you're visiting as a pair, I'd suggest ordering 1 steak and 1-2 sides.
That should be perfect!
When you factor in the incredible ambiance and delicious flavors,
while it is on the pricier side, it's absolutely worth every penny for the experience!
4. Santa Monica's Meet on Ocean: My Honest, Self-funded Review!

First up on our table was the refreshing Caesar Salad!
It reminded me a bit of the Caesar salad you'd find at Costco – a familiar, satisfying flavor.
While it wasn't a showstopper,
it was absolutely perfect for refreshing our palates between bites.

Our next delightful dish was the butchers bread.
It's an appetizer, and we noticed it on practically every table, so we didn't hesitate to order it ourselves!
Listen up, everyone! This is absolutely divine, so make sure it's on your order!

At ~$11, it's not the cheapest appetizer, but its sweet and incredibly soft texture truly awakens your taste buds!
And the dipping sauce that comes with it? That's the real game-changer! There's a reason it's a must-have on every single table, so please, when you visit, don't forget to order it!

If you've come to LA, you absolutely have to enjoy a good steak.
And the menu that arrived was...
T-Bone Steak and Ribeye Steak!
The size was definitely enormous.
Americans seem to eat one per person,
but the four of us shared two.
Both were tender and juicy,
and I loved that there was absolutely no gamey or unpleasant smell.
The juices were incredible.

We also ordered a side of steak,
sautéed mushrooms and mashed potatoes,
and they paired so well with the meat! It was definitely a good decision to order them together...!!
The portions were more generous than we expected,
so I remember leaving incredibly full.

By the way, there's an enooormous variety of wines,
so keep that in mind!
As we were enjoying our meal,
the sun gradually began to set.

Watching the sunset over Santa Monica Beach through the window
really let us feel that authentic LA vibe.
It's also close to the beach, so after dinner,
it was perfect for a stroll.
5. What I Found Less Ideal

Meet on Ocean is so delicious and has such a wonderful ambiance...!
While it's a fantastic restaurant in Santa Monica, LA, there is one drawback.
And that is, it's expensive.
Steak isn't cheap to begin with, but with US prices added on,
the cost can really add up.
So, about those eye-watering LA steak prices...!
For the four of us, including tip, it came out to about ~$345.
Around ~$83 per person!

That's why I chose Meet on Ocean for our last meal in LA,
and since the taste was great and the ambiance was perfect,
it's a highly recommended LA restaurant that left us very satisfied.
It's certainly not a cheap place,
so it's hard to call it 'good value for money',
but it's definitely worth a visit!!
6. Wrapping Up
If you're planning a trip to LA, USA,
spend a day at Santa Monica Beach,
and then wrap up your evening at Meet on Ocean
with a fantastic steak and wine!
If you're thinking, 'I want to have a proper steak in the US!'
then I highly recommend you add this place
to your LA restaurant list :)
