Looking for a fantastic and affordable stay in Sokcho for 2026? The Mari Vista Hotel, a recently built gem steps from Sokcho Beach, offers modern comfort and unbeatable value.

During my recent trip to Sokcho, I spent two nights at the Mari Vista Hotel, and let me tell you, it was an absolute delight!
As a newly built property, the facilities were sparkling clean, and its prime location within walking distance of Sokcho Beach was just perfect. I was thoroughly impressed!
When you hear "budget-friendly accommodation," you might naturally worry about outdated facilities. But this place is a rare find, perfectly balancing both affordability and quality!
It's also super convenient for driving to major attractions like Sokcho Central Market and Seoraksan National Park. Honestly, if I go back to Sokcho, I'd 200% choose to stay here again!
Price

With it being peak vacation season, finding accommodation near Sokcho Beach can be pricey, with many places easily exceeding ~$138 per night 🤣
While standard motels are cheaper, reviews often mention outdated facilities. That's why I was so thrilled to discover the Mari Vista Hotel!
It stood out because it was newly built in 2024, and I was able to book a weekend stay for around ~$69, which is fantastic value!
Agoda | ~$60~ | |
Trip.com | ~$69~ | |
HotelsCombined | ~$67~ |
Based on a weekend check-in in August, Agoda surprisingly offered the lowest price!
Remember, prices can vary by date, so comparing rates before booking is a must ✨
💡 TIP !
Prices can jump significantly on weekends and during peak season. If you aim for a weekday or off-season visit, you might even find rates as low as ~$35-$41!
Location

The location of the Mari Vista Hotel in Sokcho was truly unbeatable!
You can easily walk to Sokcho Beach, which means you can enjoy refreshing strolls by the ocean morning and evening 🎵
It's also conveniently close to the Express Bus Terminal, which is a huge plus for travelers relying on public transport, saving you taxi fares.
Public transportation in the area was incredibly convenient. I managed to visit Sokcho Central Market and Seoraksan National Park easily without a car!

Right outside the hotel, you'll find a bustling street lined with cafes, restaurants, and shops, so I never felt unsafe, even in the evening!
Plus, there's an E-Mart (a large supermarket) within walking distance, which was great for picking up any essentials. Of course, there's also a convenience store right on the hotel's ground floor.

I arrived a bit earlier than the official check-in time, but was able to check in promptly at 3:00 PM.
Good to know: there's a self-service luggage storage area in front of the reception where you can leave your bags!
Twin Room Review

The moment I opened the door to my room, I was greeted by that distinctive fresh, clean scent of a newly built hotel. It was truly impressive!
As expected from a recently constructed hotel in Sokcho, the entire room felt clean and exuded a modern vibe.
What's more, I have sensitive allergies, so I really appreciated that the room featured hardwood floors instead of carpet. It felt so much cleaner and was a huge plus 👍

While the room wasn't exceptionally large, the space was incredibly well-utilized. I could easily open my suitcase and move around without feeling cramped at all.
Next to the bed, there was a convenient table for dining, plus a clothing rack and a vanity. But honestly, the best part was the wonderfully soft and well-maintained bedding!

Although it's a residence-style hotel with a kitchen area, cooking with an induction stove is not permitted!
However, the refrigerator and freezer offered ample space and excellent performance, making it easy to store ice cream, freeze ice, or keep fresh seafood I picked up.

One of the things I was most impressed with was the bathroom's condition.
It was incredibly well-maintained, without a single water stain, and every tile and fixture gleamed. Even someone as particular about hygiene as myself felt completely at ease using it!
The water pressure was strong, and there was a continuous supply of hot water, which was perfect for washing away the fatigue of a day of travel :)
Why It's Such Great Value

While there are cheaper places to stay near Sokcho Beach, reviews for those often mention outdated facilities 🤣
On the flip side, if you're looking for an ocean-view resort, you're easily looking at ~$138 to ~$207 per night.
The Mari Vista Hotel manages to offer the cleanliness of a new property while significantly cutting down on the cost, which I found incredibly satisfying.
Considering both its superb accessibility and affordable price, it would be tough to find a more efficient budget-friendly accommodation in Sokcho! 🤣

If I ever return to Sokcho, I'd definitely consider staying near the beach here again.
With its new condition and reasonable pricing, it's a highly recommended spot for anyone looking for a great value stay in Sokcho 👍
