Mapo Bon-ga is conveniently located right next to Suwon's vibrant Ingye-dong area.
It's definitely easiest to reach by car, offering a smooth journey to your pork rib feast.

You'll find parking available right in front of the restaurant and along the alley, fitting about 5-7 cars.
If those spots are full, there's always the Gyeongsu Paid Parking Lot nearby.
We (the Bamkki Family) timed our visit perfectly, arriving just as the break time ended, and snagged one of the last parking spots! Talk about good luck!><
Interior & Exterior |

We arrived right when the break time ended, but... was that a line already forming? 🙄
It wasn't exactly a 'wait,' but rather a crowd of eager diners, just like us, who were determined to be there for the opening! Haha.

The seats near the entrance filled up almost instantly, so we were guided to a cozy spot further inside. *.*
Menu |

The menu at Mapo Bon-ga, a top Suwon pork rib restaurant, is refreshingly simple.
Pretty straightforward, right?
They specialize in a single dish: Dwaeji Galbi (marinated pork ribs), with only naengmyeon (cold noodles) and rice as meal accompaniments.
We started with three servings of pork ribs!
The Feast Begins! |

The side dishes arrived lightning fast, and then, boom! The meat was already on the table. Talk about efficiency!

Behold, the star of Mapo Bon-ga, Suwon's iconic pork rib restaurant: their signature marinated pork!
The image on the left shows our initial three servings, and on the right, the extra serving we just couldn't resist ordering later!

When you first put the meat on the grill, the owner will give you a quick lesson on how to cook it perfectly, so pay close attention!
Unlike other meats where you cut after it's cooked, at Mapo Bon-ga, you need to cut the raw marinated pork into pieces first, as shown in the left picture. Then, you gently 'stir-fry' it on the grill, constantly turning it like in the right picture!

This ensures the marinade doesn't burn and the meat cooks evenly and deliciously.
The marinade dripping onto the charcoal makes the fire hotter, so you can control the intensity of the heat by how vigorously you 'stir-fry' the meat. It's like magic charcoal at Mapo Bon-ga! Haha!

The only slight challenge with this 'stir-fry' method is ensuring all pieces cook uniformly, as some might cook faster than others.
Even with careful turning, the grill will inevitably get charred. But the staff are amazing – they constantly check on the grill plates and replace them without you even having to ask. Plus, they proactively offer refills on side dishes. Such fantastic service! ♥️

We ordered one mul naengmyeon (cold noodle soup) and one bibim naengmyeon (spicy cold noodles) to share among three of us. The portions were HUGE! After four servings of pork and two bowls of noodles, we were absolutely stuffed!

While a refreshing mul naengmyeon is perfect for summer, I think bibim naengmyeon is the ultimate pairing for marinated pork ribs! 💖

When we paid and stepped out, the waiting line was insane! 😱😱 It just goes to show how famous Mapo Bon-ga already is as a top pork rib spot in the Ingye-dong area!
From the marinated pork ribs to the cold noodles, everything was incredibly delicious! All three of us from the Bamkki Family devoured our meal at this verified Suwon pork ribs restaurant!
This was our review of Mapo Bon-ga in Ingye-dong. :>
Mapo Bonga can accommodate about 5-7 cars by utilizing the space in front of the store and the alleyway. If the parking lot is full, you will need to use the nearby Gyeongsu Paid Parking Lot.
Mapo Bonga operates daily from 12:00 to 22:00, with a break time from 14:50 to 17:00. Even if you visit after the break time, there might be a wait due to customers arriving right at opening.
Yes, for Mapo Bonga's seasoned pork, you should first cut it completely when it's raw, then gently roll and stir-fry it. This method prevents the outer seasoning from burning, ensures even and delicious cooking, and allows you to adjust the charcoal heat by varying the intensity of rolling.
Mapo Bonga primarily sells a single menu item, pork ribs, with naengmyeon (cold noodles) and rice available as meal options. The estimated cost per person is around ~$19.
