I honestly don't think there's a more perfect getaway

for families, couples, or friends in South Korea!

2. Free Lockers: Located inside the main booth,

there are free lockers available, so you can safely store your valuables!

(Though honestly, I've left my stuff on the beach for two years and nobody ever touched it!)

Mangsang Beach starts from Daejin Beach

and stretches all the way through Mangsang, Gigok, and Dojik Beaches,

giving you an endless, unobstructed view of the stunning East Sea.

I usually love to swim around Mangsang Beach

and Gigok Beach, which is right in front of the Mangsang Auto Camping Resort.

Hidden beneath the sandy shores of the East Coast

lives a type of coquina clam locally known as 'jjaebok' (surf clams).

🐚 How to Catch Jjaebok (Clams) with Your Toes! ‼️✨

1. Wade into the water until it reaches about belly button or chest height.

2. Twist your big toes like a drill and wriggle them deep into the sand.

3. Once you feel something hard and round under your toes,

dive right in and grab that clam! 😖

[Pro Tip] Wearing socks will save your toenails from getting damaged... 💖

Just do the twist like crazy and you'll catch a ton! haha

During my vacation last year, I was lucky enough to witness a spectacular sight:

a school of anchovies being chased by larger fish like mackerel

and getting washed right up onto the shore!

It was an incredible scene with people and seagulls

all gathering on the beach to scoop up anchovies. haha

Apparently, this is a pretty common phenomenon around the Gangwon-do coast!

The clams taste absolutely amazing boiled after purging them in saltwater for at least 24 hours,

and you can even turn them into cute fridge magnets like I did for a lovely souvenir.

(This year, I'm bringing olive oil to make some fresh clam oil pasta! lol)
