Heads up, travelers! With the outdoor infinity pool at Lotte Resort Sokcho (롯데리조트 속초) currently under renovation, they're offering free access to their indoor waterpark until November 30, 2026!

I've stayed in the hotel wing before, and this time, I decided to compare the hotel and condo options, looking at room differences and booking prices to help you choose the best fit for your next visit.
When I checked, the Hotel Grand Deluxe Family Twin on Yeogieottae (a Korean booking site) was priced lower with a coupon, coming in at ₩291,090 (~$217).
Hotel vs. Condo: What's the Difference?
Lotte Resort Sokcho is known for offering stunning ocean views from both its hotel and condo units, but their room layouts are quite distinct.
My recommended hotel room, the Grand Deluxe Family Twin, measures 511 sq ft (47.5㎡) and accommodates up to three guests, featuring one double and one single bed.

In contrast, the Condo Family 23 pyeong (approximately 818 sq ft or 76㎡) is more spacious, designed for up to four guests, and comes equipped with cooking facilities.
However, not all condo units offer cooking amenities, so it's essential to check the specific room type when booking.
During my previous stay in the hotel wing, I was immediately greeted by the expansive East Sea vista upon entering the lobby, which instantly lifted my spirits.

The room was spotless, and I cherished the moments spent lying in bed, gazing out at the sky and the ocean. Sipping a warm coffee on the terrace truly made the long journey worthwhile.
While I was a bit disappointed by some noise from the hallway and adjacent rooms, the plush bedding ensured I still got a good night's sleep.
If your goal is pure relaxation in your room, like mine, the hotel is ideal. But if space and self-catering options are a priority, the condo might be a better fit.
Booking Prices
For this price comparison, I focused solely on the same hotel room type I recommend: the Grand Deluxe Family Twin, without breakfast included.
Yeogieottae | Yanolja |
₩291,090 (~$217) | ₩368,000 (~$275) |
While Yeogieottae's listed price was ₩313,000 (~$234), applying a 7% coupon brought it down to ₩291,090 (~$217). Yanolja (another Korean booking site) showed a price of ₩368,000 (~$275).
Based on my search criteria, Yeogieottae was ₩76,910 (~$57) cheaper.

Yeogieottae is not only more affordable but also running promotions right now, so grabbing a coupon could save you even more!
Check-in is at 3:00 PM, and check-out is at 11:00 AM.
Parking is free, but during the construction period, you'll need to use the underground parking garage.
Waterpark & Breakfast

Guests staying until November 30, 2026, receive complimentary access to the indoor waterpark, jjimjilbang (Korean sauna), and mini golf.
Entry is granted with your reservation number or room number, and the benefit applies to the maximum occupancy of your room.
Please note that the outdoor waterpark, infinity pool, and coastal promenade are currently unavailable due to construction.

I have fond memories of swimming in the outdoor heated pool with ocean views during a previous visit. It's truly a shame that it's unavailable right now.

Breakfast is served at Makinochaya (마키노차야) on the first floor from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM. The on-site price for adults is ₩45,000 (~$34), and it's not included in the booking prices I compared.

I was very satisfied with the breakfast spread, which offered a great variety of Korean and Western dishes. Eating by the window with ocean views made for a delightful start to the day.
There's also a convenience store and restaurants in the basement, making it easy to grab a quick bite or essentials without having to venture far from the resort in the evening.
Final Thoughts
If you need ample space and plan to cook your own meals, opting for a condo might be more convenient.
However, for a relaxing getaway at Lotte Resort Sokcho, where the main goal is to unwind while enjoying the ocean views, I would personally choose the hotel wing again.

Among the hotel room booking options I checked, Yeogieottae's coupon price was ₩76,910 (~$57) lower than Yanolja.
If you're looking to take advantage of the free indoor waterpark access until November 2026, I recommend checking the hotel room conditions and making your reservation soon.
