LAX Customs & Immigration Experience

Once your flight lands at LAX, you will disembark and make your way

toward the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) hall.

Because LAX is massive, be sure to follow the overhead directional signs carefully so you do not get lost.

At the immigration hall, the queues are divided into standard lanes and the designated MPC lane.

We opted to use the MPC app, which allowed us to bypass the massive main line.

There is no need to over-explain or give extra details;

just answer exactly what is asked and you will be good to go.

Step-by-Step MPC App Guide

Mobile Passport Control (MPC) is an official app by US Customs and Border Protection

that lets you submit your passport and customs declaration digitally.

The setup process is incredibly straightforward:

1. Download and open the MPC App

2. Tap 'New Submission'

3. Select your mode of entry (Air)

4. Select your Port of Entry

CBP Port: Los Angeles International Airport

Terminal: Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT)

5. Save your traveler profile

Enter your First Name, Last Name, Gender, Date of Birth, and Passport Information.

6. Set up a security PIN / Biometric login

7. Select travelers and agree to the security notice

8. Choose your visa or entry type

9. Complete the customs declaration questions

10. Review and save your form
