Jjama Dolpan Jjajang, a popular spot in Suwon's Haenggung-dong,
is located on Haengnidan-gil, the charming, trendy street.
Due to the nature of Haenggung-dong, you can't park right next to the restaurant,
so you'll need to use nearby public parking lots!
Even then, be aware that parking spots can be scarce on weekends!

Dolpan Jjajang is located on the second floor.
Since it's a popular spot and seating isn't extensive,
you might encounter a wait on weekends!
You can often join a digital waitlist.
I recall there being about 7-8 two-person tables.
When I visited around 5:00 PM on a Friday,
only a couple of tables were occupied, but by the time we finished our meal,
the place was almost completely full! Wow!

Here's the menu for Jjama Dolpan Jjajang, a must-visit in Suwon's Hwaseong Haenggung area.
Naturally, the Hot Stone Jjajang is the main attraction, but they also introduced a cold jjamppong menu for the summer.
I seriously considered the cold jjamppong,
but ultimately, I decided the signature Hot Stone Jjajang was the way to go!
By the way, the portion is generous enough for two people ><

The basic side dishes are simple: pickled radish and a savory jjamppong broth.
The jjamppong broth was excellent, so I'm definitely planning to try Jjama's cold jjamppong next summer (2027)!
Served directly on the hot stone,
it arrives at your table wrapped in a paper cover.
This is exactly when you want to get your camera ready!
Oh, why am I posting about Jjama this late at night, inflicting this self-torture?
It's served in a wide, platter-like dish, which is actually the hot stone itself!
Because the stone is incredibly hot,
the jjajang stays piping hot throughout your meal, making it even more delicious.
No matter how good a Chinese restaurant is, jjajangmyeon loses its charm when it gets cold and the noodles get soggy.
Hot jjajangmyeon is key, and that's the magic of Jjama's Hot Stone Jjajang! 🧡
You'll also find cute toppings like cheese, vegetables, and dumplings.
You need to mix it well at first.
As you stir, you'll discover a generous amount of seafood toppings like squid and shrimp,
plus crispy scorched rice (nurungji) crackers that add a wonderful texture, almost like a nurungji soup! 😘
Personally, I found it a bit sweeter than other jjajangmyeon dishes I've tried.
But the fact that it stays consistently hot,
preserving the flavor and chewiness of the noodles,
makes it simply delicious jjajangmyeon... ><

this was my honest, self-funded revisit review of Jjama Hot Stone Jjajang – a definite Haenggung-dong restaurant recommendation! :>
Due to the nature of Haenggung-dong, it's difficult to park nearby. You should use nearby paid public parking lots such as Sinpung-dong Public Parking Lot or Jangan-dong Public Parking Lot. Please note that parking spaces might not be available on weekends.
Located on the 2nd floor, it does not have many seats, with about 7-8 tables for two people. There might be a waiting line on weekends, and you can join the waiting list through Catchtable.
The price of the main menu item, Dolpan Jjajang, is ~$21. It is mentioned in an article that this dish is enough for two people to eat generously.
