At Incheon International Airport, Jin Air check-in is available on the 3rd floor of Terminal 2, at counters E21-40.

Self-check-in and self-bag drop options are also available, which helped speed up the process considerably.

Seating & Cabin Environment

Flight LJ009 operates on an Airbus B737-8 aircraft with a 3-3 seating arrangement. I was in window seat 35F.

You can select your seat for free by checking in online 24 hours before your flight.

I was a bit worried about the legroom since it's a low-cost carrier, but for someone like me, who is 5 feet 4 inches tall, my knees didn't touch the seat in front. The 5+ hour flight wasn't overly uncomfortable. The seat pitch was quite satisfactory for an LCC.

However, individual monitors are not provided, so I recommend downloading movies or TV shows beforehand to keep yourself entertained.

In-flight WiFi Review

This was my first time using the in-flight WiFi on the Chiang Mai route, and I was surprisingly pleased with it.

I opted for the Internet Pack, and it was sufficient for using KakaoTalk, Naver Blog, Instagram, web browsing, and YouTube Music. While it was a bit slow, it was perfectly adequate to keep me from getting bored during the flight.

In-flight Meals & Service

The Incheon - Chiang Mai route does not include complimentary in-flight meals. Since the flight is over 5 hours, you might get hungry, so I recommend picking up some snacks and drinks from a convenience store before boarding.

For the return flight, I checked in at Chiang Mai International Airport, 1st floor, counters 27-29.

The baggage policy was the same as for the outbound flight.

The return flight also used a B737-8 aircraft, and I was in aisle seat 59C.

Since it was the rainy season, there weren't many passengers, and I was lucky enough to have the seat next to me empty. Thanks to this, I got to experience my first "lie-flat economy" (눕코노미 - 'nup-conomy' - lying down in economy), and it made a huge difference in how refreshed I felt upon arrival.

Just like LJ009, there are no individual monitors, so bringing your own entertainment is a good idea.

In-flight Meals & Service

The Chiang Mai - Incheon route also does not offer complimentary in-flight meals. Near the boarding gate, there were various shops, including a convenience store, cafes, and Burger King, which were great for grabbing a quick meal or snacks before departure. Keep in mind that some places only accept cash!

Immigration was incredibly fast on this trip!

If you don't complete the TDAC (Thailand Electronic Departure and Arrival Card) beforehand, you'll have to fill it out on arrival, which can add significant time. I highly recommend registering it before you depart.

My overall experience with Jin Air's LJ009/LJ010 Incheon - Chiang Mai route was highly satisfying.
