For those who've been golfing for a while,
you'll naturally feel the urge to explore a course
that's challenging but incredibly fun,
rather than just another ordinary one.

After finishing a round at Jangsu CC,
I couldn't help but think,
"This is truly a dynamic and fun golf course!"
Upon arriving at the clubhouse,
I mistakenly thought Jangsu Golf Course was a brand-new facility.
And it's easy to see why – the clubhouse
looked just like a freshly built, modern structure.
Apparently, it underwent a full renovation
that was completed in April '23.
Stepping inside the clubhouse, I felt like I was in a
luxurious hotel lobby.
The expansive use of space created an
uncluttered and calming ambiance,
a truly inviting interior.
Here's a look at the
golf pro shop inside the clubhouse.
While you can check in at the main desk,
there's also a smart check-in machine
conveniently located right next to it.
An ATM, a Smart Score card printer,
and even a currency exchange machine
are all situated on the first floor near the desk,
making the amenities incredibly convenient.
The women's locker room is on the first floor,
while the men's locker room is on the second floor.
Since the tee-off also starts from the second floor,
after checking in,
I headed straight up to the second level.
The locker room also had that 'brand-new home'
feel, as if construction had just finished.
The lockers featured stylish under-cabinet lighting,
and the digital locks were sleek and minimalist,
adding to the overall neat and modern aesthetic.
With my sibling who came all the way from Suncheon,
and friends I traveled with from Gwangju,
to grab a cup of coffee,
we made our way to the Start Restaurant.
With set menus available,
it looked like a great spot to enjoy a meal after our game.
Perhaps because our team was the last one out,
the Start Clubhouse was wonderfully quiet and empty, making it incredibly pleasant.
With the golf course stretching out right before my eyes,
and since it was my first time visiting this course,
I couldn't help but feel a little thrill of excitement.
Each of us grabbed an iced coffee,
and we were off!
Right after exiting the restaurant,
you'll spot the approach practice area.
At most golf courses,
practicing your approach shots right at the starting point is usually not allowed,
but Jangsu Golf Resort's thoughtful touch of having an approach practice area right there
truly stood out.
This decorative piece serves as a popular backdrop
for many photos posted as Jangsu CC images on social media!
This is where you'll wait to board your golf cart.
Right next to it, I spotted the practice green.
I noticed a few people already honing their skills on the practice green.
Beyond the practice green,
you can also spot the driving range.
Jangsu CC boasts an 18-hole mountain course,
featuring the Apple Course and the Tree Course.
When moving between holes by cart,
you'll find the distances between holes can feel a bit extended.
Here's a look at the 1st hole of the Apple Course!
The turf at Jangsu CC is quite special!
The tee boxes boast Kentucky bluegrass,
while the fairways and greens are covered in bentgrass.
It's the only golf course in Jeollado
to use bentgrass across the entire course,
giving it that distinct, premium 'Western-style' feel.
Even just looking at the photos, you can truly get that feeling
of a magnificent mountainous golf course, right?
The greens are quite spacious,
but their severe undulations give them a truly challenging feel.
Now, let's make our way to the 2nd hole!
The 2nd hole features a tee box accessed by climbing stairs,
with the fairway stretching out far below.
It's quite an intriguing structure!
If your driver isn't perfectly accurate here,
it's one of those places that visually makes you feel like
an out-of-bounds shot is just waiting to happen!
And don't expect many flat lies on the fairway either!
If you're not absolutely meticulous with every single shot,
it feels like errors could easily pile up.
Even the bunkers in front of the green were quite imposing,
with a considerable height.
Welcome to the 3rd hole, a thrilling Par 3!
The green's undulation here is
nothing short of a masterpiece!
It had been a scorching week, with Gwangju hitting a sweltering 34-35 degrees Celsius,
but this day turned out to be perfect!
With rain forecast from the evening,
the sky was beautifully overcast and the sun stayed hidden,
making it absolutely the best day for a round of golf!
Here we have a challenging Par 5 hole!
The fairway truly
stretches out into the distance.
This course is truly dynamic!
It was a service hole with a large cup.
Apple Course, Par 4

There's water in front,
and an uphill fairway
stretching upwards is visible.
Looking back from the green,
this is the view of the fairway.
The green is incredibly spacious!
When taking your second shot on the 8th hole,
this is what the green looks like.
With a bunker in front
and no space behind it,
it was a hole that really tested your nerves!
I landed it on the very left edge!
The final 9th hole of the Apple Course,
and here's the panoramic view from the tee box.
After finishing the 9 holes, we returned to the starting point,
refilled our iced coffee (just ~$1 extra!),
and then we were off again!
For the back nine, on the Tree Course,
I really tried to focus on my golf game!
Being nestled in the mountains, a wonderfully cool
breeze just keeps blowing, making everything feel so fresh!
We spotted a panoramic view of
Jangsu Golf Resort, so naturally,
I had to capture it in a photo!
Look, a cozy little halfway house!
It instantly reminded me of Jangseong Pureunsol CC,
for some reason!
And those greens? The undulations are absolutely epic!
From the tee box, most holes here were a true roller coaster of
ups and downs, with pretty dramatic elevation changes.
For beginners, it definitely posed a visually
challenging golf experience.
This course is a true mountain beast, with fairways that are
a constant rollercoaster of elevation changes. Often, if the fairways are difficult,
you get a break on the greens. Not here at Jangsu CC!
While the greens are expansive, they're loaded with undulations,
even sporting two and three tiers. It was genuinely not
an easy course by any means. But that's precisely what made it such an exhilarating and memorable round!
My ball dropped right at the entrance to the green,
but it looks like I've got quite a journey ahead to the hole!
Here we are, the grand finale, the 18th hole!
And true to form,
just as the round was winding down,
my shots finally started hitting perfectly, like I'd found my rhythm!

It's a challenging spot right up to the very end!

As expected, it doesn't disappoint.
It's the only place in Jeollado
where the entire golf course
uses Bentgrass,
so it was wonderful to experience Western-style grass.
And since it was recently remodeled,
the golf course facilities were truly sparkling clean
and tidy.
The fairways had severe ups and downs,
with plenty of slopes,
but that made it even more dynamic
and helped me focus on making
precise shots.
The greens also had 2-3 tiers
and lots of undulations,
making putting a real challenge and requiring intense focus.
It was such an enjoyable golf course!
Personally,
from the perspective of a dynamic
and fun golf course,
this was a golf course of a lifetime.
Playing with great friends
and a wonderful junior
made it an even more enjoyable time.

The golf course clubhouse
had closed for the day, so we went to a nearby restaurant
that our caddy recommended.
Since we had a long drive ahead,
and couldn't drink alcohol,
we decided to order something simple like Kimchi Jjigae
instead of meat.

These are the basic side dishes for the meal.
And here's the main dish, Kimchi Jjigae!
Located right in front of the golf course,
it's a great restaurant to visit
before or after your game.
The clubhouse at Jangsu Golf Resort (Jangsu CC) completed its remodeling in April '23. As a result, the clubhouse looks like a brand-new building, and its interior gives the impression of a hotel lobby.
Jangsu CC uses Kentucky bluegrass for its tee boxes and bentgrass for its fairways and greens. Notably, it is the only golf course in Jeollado where you can experience bentgrass throughout the entire course.
At Jangsu Golf Resort (Jangsu CC), there is an approach practice area right outside the start restaurant. Unlike typical golf courses, it is equipped with facilities for approach practice directly at the starting point.
Jangsu CC's greens are wide but have severe undulations, and there are many two-tiered and three-tiered greens, making them quite challenging. The fairways also have few flat areas and significant elevation changes, which can be visually daunting for beginners.
The Jangsu CC clubhouse features smart check-in kiosks, offering a convenient alternative to desk registration. Additionally, an ATM, a smart scorecard printer, and a banknote exchange machine are located next to the 1st-floor desk for enhanced convenience.
