Hey fellow explorers! Welcome back to another travel guide. :)
If you're planning a trip to Bali this year, you're probably agonizing over which neighborhood to make your home base.
For my most recent trip, I decided to stay in Jimbaran. It's incredibly convenient—just a 20-minute (roughly 5-mile) drive from the airport, right on the beach, and right next door to the famous Jimbaran seafood cafes.
My home for this leg of the trip? The stunning InterContinental Bali Resort.

I honestly could have stayed inside the resort my entire trip and been perfectly happy.
Today, I'm sharing my completely honest review of the InterContinental Bali, specifically focusing on the Club Room experience! ♥️
Here is what we'll cover in today's post:
✔️ Why choose Jimbaran and the InterContinental Bali? |
✔️ Honest review of the Club Lounge experience |
✔️ Insider tips for booking at the lowest price |
✔️ Breakfast & Club Room perks explained |
✔️ Minor drawbacks & final verdict |
Let's dive right in!

Before booking a hotel in Bali, the biggest dilemma is usually choosing the right location.
While Ubud's jungles and Kuta's bustling streets are great, I personally think Jimbaran is highly underrated and absolutely worth considering!
The accessibility to the airport is unbeatable. You can reach the lively Kuta area in about 30 minutes by car, and it serves as a fantastic middle ground for day trips up to Canggu or down south to Uluwatu.

I used Jimbaran as my base for 2 nights, and it was the perfect launchpad for exploring both the northern and southern parts of the island.
That being said, if your Bali trip is 4 nights or longer, I wouldn't spend the *entire* time here. My recommendation is to book about 2 nights at a Jimbaran hotel and split the rest of your time elsewhere.

For my Jimbaran stay, I chose the luxurious InterContinental Bali Resort.

I usually lean towards budget-friendly travel, but for this part of my Bali trip, I wanted to splurge on a premium room with all the VIP perks for a proper, relaxing "staycation" vibe.

That's why I chose this specific resort, and more importantly, I didn't just book a standard room—I specifically chose a room with Club Lounge Access.
For reference, standard rooms start around ~$154 per night.
Normally, these lounges are reserved for top-tier IHG elite members, but by booking a Club Access room, you get to enjoy all the exact same elite benefits during your stay.

✔️ Premium Check-in & Check-out
✔️ Exclusive Club Pool & Breakfast Venue
✔️ Daily Free Afternoon Tea
✔️ Daily Free Evening Cocktails & Canapés
When you add up the value of all these inclusions, the price jump is actually incredibly reasonable.
Plus, the location of this hotel is right on Jimbaran Beach, offering:
✅ Immediate beach access
✅ Walking distance to Jimbaran's famous seafood street
✅ A short 20-minute drive from the airport
✅ Easy access to Kuta and Canggu
It checked every single box I had for a Bali resort.

The room I stayed in was the Garden View Balcony with Club Lounge Access.
Note for families: children are welcome in this room type! :)
As the name suggests, this room grants you full access to the exclusive Club Lounge.

Because of this, you get to bypass the massive main lobby and are escorted to a private, beautifully air-conditioned Club Lounge for a personalized check-in experience.

For your welcome drink, you can choose from champagne, specialty coffee, fresh juice, or beer.
After the most luxurious check-in I've ever experienced, I was guided to my room.
The Club rooms are located in a dedicated, private wing of the resort, making it noticeably quieter and more secluded than the rest of the property.

Walking in, I was immediately blown away by the pristine condition of the room.
The bedding was cloud-like, and the gorgeous hardwood floors meant absolutely zero of that tropical humidity or damp carpet smell!

A beautiful spread of welcome fruits and desserts was waiting for me. It's little details like these that remind you why this is a true 5-star Bali resort.

My favorite part of the room, however, had to be the bathroom!

It connects directly to a spacious dressing room, making it incredibly convenient for showering and getting ready for the day.
Also, all the bath amenities are by the luxury brand Byredo, so you don't even need to pack your own toiletries.
(The resort's provided products are phenomenal!)

In the evenings, they offer a wonderful turn-down service. Even if you've made a mess getting ready for dinner, you come back to a perfectly organized room, making it feel like you're checking in all over again every single night.

You can book the InterContinental Bali on several different platforms. Since it's a luxury property and not exactly cheap, I highly recommend comparing sites to find the best deal.
While you can snag standard rooms for around ~$154, the Club Room I stayed in starts closer to ~$285 per night.
✅ Based on 1 Night / 2 Adults
Trip.com | ~$292 | ⏰ Live |
Agoda | ~$400 | |
Staynmore | ~$285 | |
Official Site | ~$377 |
As you can see from my real-time price comparison, Staynmore came out as the cheapest, followed by Trip.com, the official IHG site, and finally Agoda.

Some of you might not be familiar with Staynmore.
They are a booking platform specializing in luxury hotels and pool villas in Southeast Asia. I've used them a few times before and have always had seamless booking experiences.
Plus, they offer free cancellation!
If getting the absolute lowest price is your priority, I suggest booking through Staynmore. However, if you prefer using a more mainstream platform, Trip.com is the next best option!

Pro tip: Before booking on Trip.com, make sure to try and grab their first-come, first-served 50% discount coupon.

As I mentioned earlier, booking a Club Lounge room allows you to enjoy your morning meal at an exclusive breakfast venue.

You are, of course, still welcome to eat at the main general breakfast buffet. (Full disclosure: I actually tried both! Haha)
The Club breakfast experience operates on a mini-buffet + made-to-order menu system.

The mini-buffet features high-quality items like smoked salmon, artisanal cheeses, assorted pastries, and tropical fruits (including fresh mango!). For your made-to-order hot dishes, you can choose from an extensive menu featuring avocado toast, eggs benedict, poke bowls, and more.

They also have kid-friendly options like French toast and pancakes available to order.
While it wasn't the most mind-blowing breakfast I've ever had, it was still delicious! More importantly, it was wonderfully quiet and sophisticated—the perfect way to start a relaxing morning.

Beyond breakfast, your Club Room also gets you afternoon tea and unlimited evening cocktails.
If your goal is to truly unwind and experience a proper Bali resort staycation, I highly recommend skipping the standard rooms and upgrading to the Club level! ♥️

Of course, no stay is entirely perfect.
A few minor drawbacks include strict time limits for certain Club Lounge services, the driving distance if you plan to visit inland attractions like Ubud frequently, and the fact that prices can spike quite a bit during peak tourist season.

Despite these small points, if your primary goal is pure relaxation and luxury, the InterContinental Bali in Jimbaran is easily my number one hotel recommendation in Bali.
Stop stressing over where to stay in Indonesia, book a room here, and prepare to truly unwind by the ocean! 🌊
InterContinental Bali Resort is located approximately a 20-minute drive from Bali Airport. It takes about 30 minutes to reach the Kuta area by car, and it offers good accessibility for visiting areas like Canggu and Uluwatu.
The Garden View Balcony Club Lounge Access room starts from ~$244 per night and includes benefits such as exclusive breakfast, complimentary cocktails, premium check-in, and free afternoon tea. Even if you are not an IHG member, you can enjoy the same Club Lounge benefits when booking this room.
The article mentioned that the lowest price for a Club Room (per night/2 adults) is ~$244 on Stay&More. Trip.com is also relatively inexpensive at ~$251.
The Club exclusive breakfast restaurant offers a mini-buffet and à la carte options. The mini-buffet includes items like smoked salmon, cheese, pastries, and tropical fruits such as mango, while à la carte options include avocado toast, eggs Benedict, and poke salad.
If your Bali trip is 4 nights or longer, it is recommended to stay about 2 nights at InterContinental Jimbaran rather than spending all 4 nights there. This is mentioned to be ideal for exploring the areas above and below Jimbaran.
