The InterContinental Alpensia Pyeongchang Resort isn't just a 5-star hotel; it's a luxurious escape offering breathtaking, panoramic views of Daegwallyeong. Pure bliss!

First impressions matter, and here's a glimpse of the impressive entrance!
While most hotels boast doormen, it's interesting to note that despite my several visits here, I haven't actually spotted one. Just an observation!

Step inside, and you're immediately greeted by the inviting Oxy Lounge, which also houses the delightful Oxy Deli.
Get ready to tempt your taste buds – it's a treasure trove of delicious cakes and freshly baked breads!

Here's a look at the reception area.
I rolled in around 1 PM, and even then, fellow travelers were already busy checking in – the adventure never stops!

Leveraging my IHG Ambassador benefits, I headed straight to the member-exclusive desk for check-in.
And here's a little travel quirk for you: the member-exclusive desk actually took a bit longer than the regular line! Go figure!

Allow me to introduce you to the Oxy Lounge – my frequent haunt throughout this trip!
Here's a curious little anecdote from my stay: while my phone had no trouble with the in-room Wi-Fi, my laptop simply refused to connect! So, many evenings found me trekking down to the Oxy Lounge to get some work done. Thankfully, the Wi-Fi there was a dream!

My home away from home was located on the 4th floor.

That signature InterContinental scent was wonderfully prominent, making me feel right at home.
Stepping inside, the first area you encounter is the inviting bathroom and toilet.

For those traveling with little ones, a bathtub is always a huge plus, so I was thrilled to find one here!

There are two bathrobes and two pairs of slippers.
Children's slippers were already prepared for us, so we only requested extra bathrobes.

We booked a king-sized bed room and requested an extra bed separately.
Since our eldest is now in the upper grades, it's time for an extra bed.

Our eldest immediately claimed the extra bed, saying they wanted to sleep there.

A quick shot from another angle!

The extra towels, slippers, and bottled water they prepared in advance.

Ambassador benefits included a late check-out until 4 PM and a ~$14 F&B credit.
I heard that a room upgrade wasn't possible because the hotel was fully booked, and Ambassador benefits didn't apply as it was a reward night.

Two room keys.

Dining facilities: Flavours, Oxy Lounge, Oxy Deli, and Room Service.
Sports amenities: Ocean 700, Alpine Coaster, and Luge.
Finally, it lists convenience facilities like the CU convenience store and INSPA, along with their internal phone numbers, locations, and operating hours.
Alpensia Resort in Pyeongchang features a total of three accommodation options: two hotels (Intercontinental Hotel and Holiday Inn Hotel) and one condo-style resort (Holiday Inn & Suites).
Among these, Intercontinental Alpensia Pyeongchang stands as the most luxurious 5-star hotel.
We enjoyed a 3-night, 4-day stay at Alpensia Resort during our summer vacation.
The Wi-Fi in the room wasn't working, and despite inquiring 2-3 times, the lack of feedback was quite disappointing.
When I asked later, they said they had checked it, but it still didn't work.
Among the front desk staff, only one older-looking male employee always had a bright smile and felt truly kind, while other staff members seemed quite formal and business-like.
The staff at other facilities were very friendly, but I wasn't sure about the front desk staff.
I also heard that Intercontinental COEX will be rebranded as a Marriott next year, which is quite a shame.
I really hope to see more IHG properties, and I wish for Intercontinental Alpensia Pyeongchang to be well-maintained and stay around for a long time.
