Hotel The Blue Terra Sokcho Review 2026: Family Ocean View Stay
Planning a family trip to Sokcho? We stayed at Hotel The Blue Terra, an ocean-view gem with a Deluxe Half Ondol room perfect for families. Get our honest review!

Hey there, Global Explorers! I'm Topy, your go-to traveler who's always on the move.
Today, I'm excited to share my one-night stay review at #HotelTheBlueTerra in Sokcho, where my family and I recently enjoyed a spontaneous trip!
Hotel The Blue Terra
🏠Address | 3920 Donghae-daero, Joyang-dong, Sokcho-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea
⏰Check-in 3:00 PM | Check-out 11:00 AM
☑️Facilities | Infinity Pool, Sky Lounge, Gym
Full disclosure: this wasn't exactly a "my money, my stay" situation; it was all thanks to my wonderful mom! (▰˘◡˘▰)
My mom's incredibly spontaneous nature (she's a true 'P' if you know MBTI!) often catches even me, an ENFP, off guard. This 2-day, 1-night trip to Sokcho for my grandmother's birthday was, yet again, a spur-of-the-moment decision.🫠
I've told her countless times I'd be happy to book accommodations if she just gave me a heads-up! But this time, she actually booked the day *before* we left, which for her, is practically planning in advance! (She usually books on the day of travel...)

After checking in at the front desk, we headed up to our room. This place boasts a fantastic range of amenities, including a Sky Lounge, Lounge Pub, Fitness Center (GYM), and an Infinity Pool! 🤩

Keep in mind that there are separate elevators for high and low floors! ✨ I didn't get a chance to photograph the exterior of Hotel The Blue Terra, but it looks much like an apartment building.
From what I've noticed, Sokcho seems to have a lot of these residence-style accommodations. If anyone knows why, drop a comment below—I'm genuinely curious!
🏖️ An Affordable Hotel with an Ocean View

We stayed in a high-floor Deluxe Half Ondol Room.
The moment we opened the door, a collective gasp of awe escaped my family!
The ocean view was absolutely breathtaking, making us feel incredibly refreshed and expansive! 😝

🛏️ A Look Inside the Room

The room featured a comfortable bed and two sets of floor bedding, and the linens were impeccably clean and well-maintained.
The marble floor was wonderfully cool, too. If you tend to run hot like me, sleeping on the floor might be just what you need!

On one side, there was a spacious wooden vanity with a large mirror.
It was incredibly convenient for us ladies to gather around in the morning to get ready, and the ample counter space was perfect for organizing our luggage and personal items!

Since this is a residence-style hotel, it comes equipped with a washing machine, sink, refrigerator, and an induction cooktop. However, please note that the induction cooktop is unfortunately not available for guest use. 🥲
While cups are provided, there aren't any other cooking utensils or dish soap, so keep that in mind if you plan to use the kitchen area!
🕒 Check-in & Check-out and Room Usage Information

Here's a quick guide to room usage.
It goes without saying that all rooms are non-smoking, right?!
And regarding hotel check-in, as I mentioned earlier, it's worth double-checking!
❝ Check-in 3:00 PM - Check-out 11:00 AM ❞
Late check-out is also available. The cost is ~$10 per hour, and if you check out after 2:00 PM, you'll be charged for an additional night. Keep that in mind!
🛁 Clean and Well-Stocked Bathroom, Amenity Details

The bathroom was spotless, not a single hair out of place.
While some hotels can be lacking in bathroom maintenance, Hotel The Blue Terra was in excellent condition!

The bathroom amenities included:
Shampoo & Conditioner (2-in-1), Body Wash, disposable toothbrush, shower towel, soap, and plenty of fresh towels.
It's a good idea to bring your own facial cleanser or any other personal care items you might need. Oh, and a hair dryer is also provided! ‼️

Our family picked up some delicious local treats, like Ojingeo Sundae (squid sausage) and other goodies, from Sokcho Central Market for a casual second round of snacks at the hotel. The room even had a large, spacious table that was perfect for laying out our feast!
True to our spontaneous family style, this last-minute booking turned out to be an excellent choice for an affordable, family-friendly hotel in Sokcho! 👍
