During my trip to Miyako Island, Japan,
I stayed at the Hilton Resort Hotel.
True to its famous name,
the stunning views and relaxing atmosphere were incredible.
Plus, it's located right in front of
Sunset Beach, which made it
so convenient and satisfying in every way.
I just had to share this review to highly recommend it! :)

1. Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort

The Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort opened on June 18, 2023. It's now been open for about 3 years. Since it's still relatively new, there weren't many reviews online, so I hesitated quite a bit before booking. But in the end, I had an absolutely wonderful and satisfying stay!

Hilton Resort Hotel
Where is it located?

The Hilton Okinawa Miyako Island Resort is located
about 25 minutes from Shimojishima Airport,
just across the beautiful
Irabu Bridge.

View of Irabu Bridge from the hotel
It's situated right in front of
Sunset Beach, which is famous for its gorgeous sunsets,
making beach access incredibly easy!

My Choice of Room
Deluxe Twin Room
(sunset view)

When you think of hotels in Japan, compact rooms often come to mind,
but the rooms at the Hilton Resort
were surprisingly spacious and comfortable!

It took me forever to choose a room at the Hilton...
The City View was the cheapest option,
but I really wanted to see the Hilton pool area
directly from my room,
so I ended up choosing the Sunset View!
A lot of reviews on various booking sites
highly recommended the Sunset View rooms.

There are USB ports and power outlets right above the beds,
and they even have a wireless charger on top of the digital clock,
which made charging devices so convenient!

Super cute Shisa embroidery
They provide dedicated pool/beach robes,
as well as a handy beach bag so you can easily carry your things
back to the room after swimming!

Comfy hotel pajamas are also provided
in the drawers and along with the robes.

You can grab water from the water dispenser located outside
whenever you need it.
(A great eco-friendly initiative to reduce plastic bottles!)

The Bathroom

I shot this with the 0.5x wide lens, so the bathroom
might look a bit small, but it's actually not at all..!
The toilet and shower room are completely separate,

and I loved how spacious the vanity and mirror were.
They also had body lotion ready
right next to the sink,

and the hair dryer is from Panasonic!
The View

Now for the part I cared about most—
the view!
The combination of the pool and palm trees
instantly gives you those major tropical resort vibes!

In the distance, you can catch a glimpse of Sunset Beach
and get a perfect, unobstructed view of the Irabu Bridge!
With a view like this, how could I not recommend it?
Just looking at this view was so incredibly healing.

They say that in winter, the sun sets right over Irabu Bridge.
If you look to the right, you can see a bit of the sunset,
but during the summer months,
they say the sun drops
even further to the right.
Everyone was poking their heads out of their balconies to watch the sunset, haha.

As dusk fell, the resort vibes hit
a whole new level.
They play really hip music
until around 8 PM...
which made me feel like I was truly in paradise.

4. Exploring the Hotel Grounds 🚶♀️

The gorgeous, luxurious blue decorations
that immediately caught my eye as I stepped into the lobby.

Even if you can't see the sunset directly from your room,
you'll still get a stunning view of it
from the lobby or the rooftop bar!

My Honest Review & Highlights ✨
If you're traveling to Miyakojima, you've got to stay at the Hilton at least once!
First and foremost, the atmosphere was incredibly upscale. Since it's located right on the waterfront, the view is just... spectacular! Looking out at this hotel view made me think, "Man, I need to work hard and make more money..." (?) 😂 With so many pools, it's the perfect place to unwind, and being just a 2-minute walk from the ocean was absolutely amazing.

It takes about 25 minutes from Shimojishima Airport crossing the Irabu Bridge. The resort is located right in front of Sunset Beach, so you can walk to the ocean in just about 2 minutes.
From the room, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the swimming pool, palm trees, Sunset Beach, and the Irabu Bridge. The direction of the sunset changes depending on the season, and during the winter, the sun sets towards the Irabu Bridge.
To reduce plastic waste, bottled water is not provided in the rooms. Instead, you can get water from the water dispensers located outside the rooms.
Check-in is available from 3:00 PM, and check-out is until 11:00 AM. The front desk is open 24 hours a day, so you can access it at any time.
