Best 4 Vintage Shops for Accessories, Clothing, and Secondhand Finds

If you enjoy sifting through piles of clothes for half a day in Dongmyo,

Hanoi's Tây Hồ alleys won't feel unfamiliar.

Living in Hanoi, there's a neighborhood I find myself visiting every weekend: the Yên Phụ and Yên Hoa streets, located east of Tây Hồ.

With vintage clothing stores, record shops, and handmade accessory stores all clustered within a 10-minute walk, it's perfect for a half-day Hanoi itinerary.

This time, I explored four places with my travel companion,

and I'll tell you upfront, one of those four places,

even though it's not a clothing store, I simply couldn't leave it out of my recommended itinerary.

Our Take: Not a clothing store, but absolutely essential for this itinerary.

All four places are in the Tây Hồ area, but only Better World is in the Quảng An direction, requiring about a 5-minute drive.

The other three are connected by a walkable route.

1. FRESH by Mountain

A great spot to start your route.

The entire alley wall opposite the shop is covered in graffiti, making it easy to find,

and a perfect spot for photos.

This place is strong on Americana and hip-hop vintage styles.

It was packed with American retro vibes, from vintage T-shirts, basketball jerseys, and snapbacks to leather jackets.

What's cool is that the owner (Mountain) is a hip-hop DJ who spins vinyl. The shop also sells a small selection of vinyl records.

Rumor has it he sometimes DJs on Friday nights.

The fact that card payments are accepted without a fee was also a big plus in this cash-centric neighborhood.

2. STAY VINTAGE

Recommended as your first stop

When you walk in, the first thing you notice is how well-organized everything is, so

you're spared the typical 'dig-to-find' fatigue often associated with secondhand shops.

The curation was spot-on, **mainly focusing on jackets, graphic tees, and polo shirts.**

If Dongmyo offers the joy of 'excavation,'

this place feels more like the joy of 'selecting.'

Prices are higher than Dongmyo street vendors but more affordable than vintage select shops in Seoul.

Prices range from about ~$18 to ~$36.

The owner speaks English quite well, so if you tell them your preferred style, they'll keep bringing out similar items for you.

But we preferred to browse on our own, so we just looked around... haha.

If you walk from Stay Vintage towards Yen Phu Street,

on the opposite side,

you'll spot a shop with "VINTAGE" written prominently on its sign.

It turns out its official name is Đĩa Than Vintage (Hanoi Vintage Vinyl Shop), and 'Đĩa Than' means vinyl record in Vietnamese.

This is a place I often visited when I used to stroll around West Lake.

If you choose a vinyl record you like and ask to listen to it,

the owner will place it on the turntable and play it for you right there.

That feeling of playing an unfamiliar record for the first time in a record shop in a strange city is hard to put into words.

They have quite a few original first-press vinyl records from the 70s,

so collectors will need to keep a tight rein on their wallets here.

I also listened that way, telling myself I'd buy a turntable later,

and bought a live Rolling Stones vinyl record a few years ago...

and... I still haven't bought a turntable^.^..........

3. Victory CD & DVD shop

A relaxing stop

From STAY VINTAGE, walk along the same street

for just 2 minutes and you'll arrive.

As the name suggests, it's a shop selling CDs and LPs, with genres neatly organized alphabetically, from Bob Dylan CDs to the latest pop albums.

But what really made this shop memorable

was the scene outside its door, even more than the music itself.

There are a few cushions laid out on the steps in front of the shop,

and if you order a drink, you can just grab one, sit down,

and enjoy your drink while watching the street scene.

It's essentially also a cafe, but without air conditioning.

(All the other shops on this route had air conditioning.)

So, I'd recommend visiting in the late afternoon rather than during the midday heat of summer.

The owner doesn't speak much English,

but they say he responds quickly if you message him on Facebook, so keep that in mind.

4. Better World Hanoi

Not a clothing store, but too good to skip

A great spot to include as your final stop.

Actually, we started here right after having lunch at the shop next door,

so this was our starting point.

However, if you're doing a vintage shop tour, I recommend following the order I've introduced.

This one is on Quang An Street, so you'll need to take a Grab for about 5 minutes to get there.

This is the "not a clothing store" place I mentioned earlier.

It's not a vintage clothing shop, but rather a boutique collecting handmade goods from various parts of Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand.

Of course, they also have handmade clothing!! However, it's mainly women's apparel.

With such a wide variety of items, from earrings and bracelets to gemstone rings and scarves, I felt that anyone who loves vintage items could easily spend all day here.

My companion bought a body oil (200,000 VND), saying she'd use it for Gua Sha massage. The scent wasn't heavy; it was delicately ethnic and so captivating that I almost bought one myself!

**The staff member's English was incredibly fluent,** so they could explain any questions we had right away.

Each product had its country of origin beautifully handwritten, which made browsing even more delightful. Plus, knowing that a portion of the profits goes to local charities really resonated with me. It's especially recommended for gifts!

👉 Just a heads-up: they're closed on Mondays, so keep that in mind when planning your itinerary!

**💡 Essential Tips for Your Hanoi Vintage Shop Tour**

**1. Avoid Mondays.**

Both Better World and Đĩa Than Vintage are closed on Mondays, meaning nearly half of this itinerary's spots will be unavailable.

**2. Bring Cash.**

Many places, apart from FRESH by Mountain, prefer cash payments. While Hanoi residents might be able to use local bank transfers, travelers won't have that option, so I highly recommend bringing enough cash.

**3. Google Maps is a Must!**

These shops aren't on main streets; you'll often find them tucked away in alleys or require specific street numbers, making them virtually impossible to find without data. In fact, for **FRESH by Mountain, the map pin was slightly off, and I only managed to find it after checking Google Maps reviews.**
