During my recent Hanoi trip, I visited three different massage spas, and Sen Spa was by far the most satisfying experience.

Booking was incredibly easy via KakaoTalk, and the interior facilities were impeccably clean and well-maintained. Beyond the excellent hygiene, the staff were exceptionally friendly, and they even had staff members who could communicate in English, which was a huge plus.

Today, I'm excited to share my detailed, honest review of Sen Spa!

Location

Sen Spa boasts an excellent location right next to Hoan Kiem Lake, making it incredibly accessible for tourists.

The area is bustling with restaurants, so after a full day of sightseeing and when fatigue started to set in, I headed straight for a relaxing massage.

This neighborhood is actually packed with various spa and massage shops. Personally, Estheva Spa was also a fantastic option, almost as good as Sen Spa.

Both places are popular with international travelers, offering clean facilities, friendly service, and truly invigorating massages.

I recommend choosing between the two based on whichever location best fits your Hanoi itinerary.

Booking Your Session

Booking is super straightforward: just add 'senspahanoi' on KakaoTalk and send them a chat.

Simply provide your preferred date, time, number of people, and desired massage type in English, and they'll confirm availability.

This place is incredibly popular, so I highly recommend booking in advance. If you try to book on the same day, you might not get your desired time slot.

A fantastic perk: if you book your session between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM, you'll receive a 10% discount!

Inside Sen Spa: Facilities & Ambiance

While not overtly luxurious, the interior of Sen Spa had a distinctly clean and authentic Vietnamese charm.

All the staff were incredibly friendly, and having an English-speaking employee made the waiting process very comfortable.

While waiting, we were offered tea and cookies. We also filled out a brief questionnaire to specify any areas needing extra attention or to inform them of any health conditions.

For oil massages, you even get to smell and choose your preferred oil fragrance!

Pricing

The most popular options are typically Deep Tissue or Aroma massages.

If you're someone who prefers a strong, invigorating massage, I highly recommend the Deep Tissue.

However, if you prefer a gentler, more relaxing touch, the Aroma Massage is an excellent choice.

From the outside, you wouldn't guess it, but this building is actually 8 stories tall! It was a bit challenging having to climb the stairs to the 3rd or 4th floor for my massage, as there's no elevator.

If you're lucky, you might even get a room on the 2nd floor!

My Massage Experience

Before the main massage began, they started by washing my feet. My feet were incredibly sore from all the walking, and this initial step felt like all the muscle tension instantly melted away! If the pressure is too much, you can always ask them to lighten it.

A quick note: you can also take a brief 5-minute shower before or after your massage!

Massages are provided in separate rooms for men and women.

I'm not great with strong pressure, so I made sure to request a gentle massage from the start. They truly delivered, providing a wonderfully refreshing experience without any discomfort!

Throughout the massage, they regularly checked in to ensure the pressure was comfortable. It wasn't just a generic rub-down; they genuinely focused on releasing tense muscles with precision.

With a cozy blanket provided, dim lighting, and the comfort of the massage bed, I was so relaxed I could have easily drifted off to sleep!

Tipping Etiquette

While tipping is not strictly mandatory in Vietnam, it's a common way to show appreciation to your masseuse if you're satisfied with the service.

Typically, a tip ranges from ~$1 to ~$4. However, it's not compulsory, so don't feel obligated if you prefer not to. (We personally gave about ~$2.)

With its clean facilities, friendly staff, and fantastic location, Sen Spa truly stands out as a top-notch massage spot in Hanoi.

My family and I all tried different massage types and everyone left feeling completely satisfied.
