Tired of Hanoi's Beer Street? Dive into the city's cooler side with two fantastic bar recommendations: the popular Pasteur Street Brewing and the atmospheric DRAMA bar. Perfect for authentic vibes!
While Hanoi's famous Beer Street is an absolute blast, let's be real – sometimes you crave something a little different, right? If you're looking to explore Hanoi's vibrant nightlife beyond the usual bustling Beer Street, I've got two fantastic spots for you.
First up is the renowned Pasteur Street Brewing. I'll admit, I hadn't heard of it until a favorite travel blogger (who'd raved about their Ho Chi Minh City location) recommended it. And wow, what a discovery!
The vibe here is pure Western pub. When I visited, it felt like a little slice of home, filled with fellow international travelers. I wish I had a perfect photo to show you the lively interior, but alas, my blogging ambitions hadn't fully kicked in yet! (That inspiration, by the way, hit me hard in Sapa after a particularly disappointing massage – sometimes the best ideas strike when you least expect them!)

That's the exterior. Seriously, I can't believe I didn't get better interior shots!

Here's a glimpse of their impressive beer taps. Whenever I visit a new craft brewery, I always go for the sampler. It's the best way to get a taste of their range, even if I usually end up picking similar styles!

I recall the price being a bit on the higher side, but for the quality craft beer, it was worth it. My sampler came out to $33.17. You can find this awesome spot below:

Looking for something a little more atmospheric than Beer Street? A place with a bit of 'drama'? Then DRAMA is your spot.
It's not located on the main bustling streets but rather a bit north of Hanoi's central district, giving it a more local, hidden gem feel.

This is the entrance. I remember seeing someone sitting by the door and wondering if it was a bouncer, but they didn't even glance my way when I walked in!

The interior has a really cool vibe. That lip-shaped decoration seems to be their trademark, and later in the evening, a DJ sets up there to spin some tunes. I wanted to snag a seat up front, but since I arrived early, they directed me to the back.
Being more of a bar than a pub, cocktails are definitely their specialty. However, I was craving a beer, so I stuck with that. Then, hunger struck, and I ordered a fruit platter. But even that wasn't enough! In the end, I left DRAMA and headed straight to a pho restaurant right next door for a satisfying bowl of noodles. I should have just eaten beforehand, haha!

The location is as above. Just a heads-up, while the bar's name is DRAMA, it's sometimes listed as "Drma" on Google Maps, possibly a typo. It currently holds a 4.7-star rating on Google (though with only six reviews when I last checked!). When I visited, it was a perfect 5.0 with five reviews.
So, there you have it – two fantastic alternatives to Hanoi's Beer Street when you're looking for a different kind of night out.
It really makes a difference when you travel with a blogging mindset versus just enjoying the moment, doesn't it? The photos and content you gather are just so different!
I wonder when I'll get to visit Hanoi again. I still dream about the incredible civet coffee I brought back last time.
My last trip was quite ambitious, covering Ha Long Bay and Sapa in addition to exploring Hanoi extensively. I don't foresee another visit anytime soon, as there are so many other amazing places in the world to explore!
Indeed, the world is vast, and there's always a new adventure waiting.
According to the article, ordering a sampler at PASTEUR STREET BREWING cost $33.17. The author mentioned remembering the price being quite expensive.
DRAMA bar operates from 3 PM to 2 AM. It is located north of the main city center, features a lip-shaped trademark, and has an atmospheric vibe with DJing as the night matures.
PASTEUR STREET BREWING is located at 1 P. Ấu Triệu, Hàng Trống, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội. Its operating hours are from 11 AM to 11 PM.
