I'm passionate about books, and I adore exploring new places. Naturally, I thought combining the two would be a no-brainer. But finding unique ways to connect them beyond just "I visited a bookstore" proved more challenging than expected.
The thrill of discovering a hidden gem down a winding alley? Absolutely exhilarating! But once you've found it, what's next? For me, sometimes, the discovery itself was the main event.
My first stop was this charming local bookstore. The real joy here was the quest itself!
And honestly, that was pretty much it! Haha.
I've always been more about the actual books than the aesthetics of a bookstore, so a "pretty" bookstore isn't necessarily a draw for me. And while it might be nice to find English books abroad, as a traveler, I don't really need to buy one to read here – I already packed six for my trip! (And yes, they're still untouched in my suitcase, oops!)

Beyond the truly local experience, I also discovered a more well-known (or perhaps just more accessible) bookstore in Hanoi: BOOKWORM HANOI.
This spot is conveniently located right by the road, making it much easier to find than its hidden counterpart.
Although the Hanoi weather makes sitting outdoors a bit challenging, they do have a nice outdoor seating area.
Step inside, and you're greeted by a clean, inviting space.
Looking back towards the entrance, you get a sense of the cozy atmosphere.
BOOKWORM HANOI also functions as a cafe, so you can definitely order a coffee here. I didn't grab one myself, as I had another cafe lined up for after my visit – which I'll be sharing in an upcoming post!
It's the perfect spot to combine a book browse with a caffeine fix.
Following the stylish staircase that matches the exterior, you'll find the main bookstore area on the second floor.
It has that classic bookstore feel.
During my quick browse, I noticed a good selection of English-language books. Though I tried to avoid including them in my photos, there were quite a few foreign visitors enjoying the space.
