With the idea of truly relaxing and unwinding without worrying about money,

my family and I embarked on a 3-night, 5-day trip to Hanoi, Vietnam!

When people usually think of traveling to Vietnam, Nha Trang or

Da Nang often come to mind. But Hanoi, as Vietnam's

capital, has so much to see and the food is incredibly delicious!

It's especially a wonderful destination to visit with your parents.

Hanoi 3-Night, 5-Day Independent Trip Budget

The total cost for our 3-night, 5-day trip in Hanoi was

for 5 adults and 2 children,

a total of ~$2741.

Although we had children, if you divide the expenses,

it's convenient to think of it as roughly ~$387 per person.

For reference, variable expenses like dining, massages, and cafes

are all included in these figures.

We stayed in the best possible hotels, visited many restaurants,

and even got massages at three different places.

It was truly a trip where we did everything we wanted,

so our expenses might have been a bit higher than others.

For our accommodation, we stayed at a 5-star hotel in Hanoi,

the Somerset Grand Hanoi, for three nights.

It's conveniently located within a 10-15 minute walk from major attractions like St. Joseph's Cathedral and Hoan Kiem Lake,

offering excellent accessibility. Plus, with amenities like a swimming pool, gym, and tennis court,

the hotel quality was superb, making it a very satisfying stay.

Hanoi Travel Itinerary: Day 1

Incheon Airport - Noi Bai International Airport - Hotel Transfer

After taking a Vietjet Air international flight from Incheon Airport,

we arrived at Noi Bai Airport. Then, we took a pre-booked

pickup car, which took about 40 minutes to reach our hotel

in downtown Hanoi.

Currently, Klook is offering discounts of up to ~$58,

so I highly recommend booking in advance.

Hanoi City Tour Bus

After arriving at the hotel and having dinner, it quickly got dark,

so we hopped on the City Tour Bus to enjoy the night view.

The bus route has 14 stops, and you can freely hop on and off.

It passes by all the famous tourist attractions.

You can even listen to an audio guide in Korean.

However, some reviews mention it can be a bit boring,

and city tours by bus are generally a matter of personal preference.

So, I recommend it for those who find walking around attractions tiresome,

or for travelers who prefer a more relaxed sightseeing experience.

Mango Bingsu Hoa Béo

Hoa Béo is famous for its Vietnamese mango bingsu!

If you're planning a trip to Hanoi, you absolutely *have* to try this...

It's truly delicious; the fruit tastes so much better than the mango bingsu you'd find in Korea,

it's incomparable!

And best of all, the price is 60,000 VND,

which at approximately ~$2, is incredibly cheap!

Hanoi Travel Itinerary: Day 2

St. Joseph's Cathedral

From the morning of Day 2, we got an early start and moved diligently.

We snapped some photos in front of St. Joseph's Cathedral, a quintessential Hanoi landmark~

Hoan Kiem Lake

We headed to Hoan Kiem Lake for a leisurely stroll,

savoring the relaxed atmosphere before heading off for lunch.

For lunch, we dined at Hương Liên, famous for its Obama Bún Chả.

It seems all local Bún Chả in Vietnam is just incredibly delicious!

Egg Coffee: Even More Famous Than Mango Bingsu

We tried egg coffee at Giang Cafe, said to be its original birthplace.

They say that anyone who loves coffee absolutely must try this at least once.

I don't usually like coffee, so I only took one sip,

but my husband, who's a total coffee fanatic, absolutely loved it!

Giang Cafe and Cong Caphe are the most famous spots for it,

but both get incredibly crowded. It's a good idea to go a bit earlier

than peak hours.

Đồng Xuân Market (Chợ Đồng Xuân)

This is Đồng Xuân Market, Hanoi's most iconic market.

You'll find an abundance of food, clothing, souvenirs, and more –

it's where most people go for their shopping.

However, don't expect overly friendly service or particularly cheap prices.

Many tourists end up leaving disappointed.

If your travel itinerary falls on a weekend, I highly recommend checking out the weekend night market instead of here.

We just bought one *nón lá* (conical hat) each for the kids... hehe.

For massages, I visited renowned places like Sense Spa and Estheva Spa.

These spots are practically a must-do for tourists, and every massage shop I went to was incredibly friendly with excellent service – I was thoroughly impressed!

Cruise Ambassador Luxury Tour

On our final day, we ventured from Hanoi to Ha Long Bay for an unforgettable cruise tour!

I booked a package complete with a private room, which allowed me to truly soak in the luxury.

Imagine relaxing on your personal cabin terrace, gazing out at the magnificent sea!

And with a delicious buffet lunch provided, it truly felt like a lavish escape.

Our first stop was the magnificent Sung Sot Cave, a UNESCO-listed wonder!

I'd never seen a cave this massive before, and it was absolutely awe-inspiring!

The intricate stalactites and stalagmites in all their varied forms were simply stunning.

To cap off the cruise, we visited the panoramic viewpoint and beautiful beach of Titop Island – what a perfect end to the tour!

During what felt like a whirlwind 3-night, 5-day adventure in Hanoi,

I truly experienced a journey of rejuvenation and healing.

It was a fantastic family trip, and it's been such a long time since everyone, from the youngest children to the grandparents, was so utterly delighted with a vacation!
