I recently had my first taste of Gwanggyo...
And now I totally get why everyone raves about Gwanggyo!
It's a neighborhood that truly shines!🌟

My amazing sibling cleverly found and booked this place,
so let me introduce you to this Blue Ribbon restaurant at Gwanggyo Jungang Station's Avenue France.

*For our family, who were all visiting Gwanggyo for the first time,
it was a bit tricky to find O Italian after leaving the parking lot.
Instead of instructions like, 'After parking, go up to B1F, exit the building, turn left at the corner and go up...',
remember to head towards the Woori Bank intersection
and just turn the corner WITHOUT crossing the pedestrian crosswalk‼️
You'll turn at Okrumong〰️〰️
And Jeonju Hyeondaebok is right next door.
As a resident of Jeonju, I was pretty happy to spot Hyeondaebok here in Suwon!

We had a large group, so we made a reservation.
Even though we visited right after the lunch break ended
at 5:30 PM,
the hall was already packed,
and walk-ins faced a huge wait.
It made me realize, 'Wow, this place is seriously a hot spot!'
I was excited even before I stepped inside,,💓

Blue Ribbon + Red Ribbon
This Gwanggyo restaurant has been listed in the Blue Ribbon for 3 consecutive years.
O Italian 🇮🇹
Just a heads-up, it's 'O Italian', not 'Wa Italian' 😆
Inside O Italian: The Ambiance

Hehe,
I couldn't snap too many photos of the interior because it was so crowded.
But after recently watching 'Undercover Chef'
and totally falling for the charm of Italy,
I can say O Italian definitely had a wonderful atmosphere.

The wine bottles lining the walls were quite an impressive sight too!

It might not be the flashiest interior,
but the vibe inside was just right and very inviting.
A Great Date Spot in Gwanggyo
O Italian Menu

O Italian operates on a 'one menu per person' policy.
Our family was already quite full,
and we initially thought, 'One dish per person? That's a lot~~~'
But guess what? We ended up scraping every last bit off our plates! ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Plus, you get complimentary brioche or pain de campagne as an appetizer.

O Italian offers reasonably priced set menus for 2 to 4 people,
and they also have à la carte options.
So, if you're visiting with a larger group,
combining a set menu with a few à la carte dishes could be a fantastic idea! 💓

Seriously, can you believe I took these menu photos like this?
Seven of us visited,
and we ordered two 3-person sets and one à la carte dish.
So, we basically ordered a variety of things.
The fact that there were so many dishes I wanted to try
gets a big thumbs up from me!
O' Italian Menu Review

The brioche bun and garlic bread had a wonderful buttery aroma!

Even though it was just a house salad, it was generous,
and it was perfect for whetting our appetites before the meal.
(Even though we were already quite full!)
There were quite a few staff members,
and they served us quickly.
I did have to ask for a new fork because the one I received wasn't perfectly clean,
but they responded kindly and handled it well.
(However, for a restaurant, the staff's flashy nail art felt a bit out of place...)

Seafood Diablo 🌶
It was marked as spicy,
but it wasn't spicy at all.
The whole octopus leg made it really substantial.

The scissors looked stylish,
but their cutting power was... not so much, haha.

Seafood Rosé Risotto

Mentaiko & Scallop Pasta 🌶
This was absolutely perfect for our tastes,
as we love both mentaiko and scallops!

Flounder Lemon
(+$1 when selected from a set menu)

Whole Squid Ink Risotto
It was a little salty,
but the squid was incredibly tender...

Margherita and Pollo Pesto Pizza 🍕
The Margherita pizza was the clear winner‼️
They also have a half-and-half option,
and the Oh Italian Quattro, which features Oh Italian's hit menu items all on one pie,
so that would be a great choice too!

Even the gelato was incredibly delicious!
The texture was fantastic with a satisfying bite,
and the olive oil aroma was truly wonderful,, 💚

It's an open kitchen,
and I could see them cooking as I left,
and it was so impressive how they managed to fulfill all the orders
from a not-so-large kitchen.. so cool!

Watching them make fresh pasta,
we concluded our meal‼️
Despite my initial worry about whether we could finish everything,
we devoured every single dish like food fighters, leaving nothing behind!
The place was packed with people waiting even as we left,
that's Oh Italian for you!
Whether you're looking for a date spot in Gwanggyo, a family dinner,
or a place to meet up with friends, Oh Italian would be absolutely perfect!
