Our Guam Independent Travelogue with a 23-Month-Old!
Today, I'm excited to share our 'Southern Tour' itinerary, where we cruised around in a rental car and soaked in Guam's stunning natural beauty. Since we were traveling with our little one, we didn't push ourselves too hard, instead, we hand-picked only the best photo spots, delicious eateries, and natural swimming pools for a truly rewarding and relaxed adventure.
🎈 Guam Southern Tour Rental Car Tips
🚗 Today's Route: Emerald Valley ➔ Jeff's Pirates Cove (Lunch) ➔ Inarajan Natural Pool (Swimming) ➔ Hoshino Resort Water Park (Return)
For those of you who want to explore at your own pace with kids, just like we did, I highly recommend reserving a rental car in advance! It was so much more convenient to load all our little one's gear and move at our own speed. Here's where we looked when we were researching and booking our car, and it worked out wonderfully for traveling with our little one.

If the idea of driving a rental car feels daunting, or you simply prefer a more relaxed way to get around, a tour program could be a great option. Many families actually opt for them! :)

1. Emerald Valley: Guam's Picture-Perfect Spot

Our first stop on the Southern Tour was 'Emerald Valley,' where the water shimmers with artistic brilliance. The sun was incredibly hot, but the sheer beauty of the place made it absolutely worth a visit.

It's a spot where the seawater flows through a narrow channel, glowing with a mesmerizing emerald hue.

With its crystal-clear water, rugged rocks, and brilliant blue sky, every shot here turns into a postcard-perfect photo. We captured so many beautiful family memories with Eseo! :D

⚠️ Important Notes for Traveling with a Baby
The sun can be intense, and your child's skin can easily get sunburnt even with a short exposure, so sunscreen and a parasol (or sunhat) are an absolute must. Also, please ensure they wear sneakers! Swimming is prohibited here due to the potential presence of water snakes or sea urchins, and the rocks can be sharp. So, hold your child's hand firmly to prevent falls and simply soak in the beautiful views with your eyes.

2. Must-Visit Eatery on Your South Guam Tour: Jeff's Pirates Cove (Home of the Pirate Burger 🍔)

After enjoying such stunning scenery, it's time to fuel up, right? We stopped by 'Jeff's Pirates Cove,' a perfect place to refuel during your South Guam tour, famous for its 'Pirate Burger.'

🍔 Signature Pirate Burger: The cute pirate logo is stamped right onto the bun! (Oops, I accidentally cropped it out of the photo... 😅)

With a juicy patty perfectly complemented by savory cheese, it was absolutely delicious.

They also have a separate kids' menu, perfect for little ones, making it super easy to order for the whole family.

🏴☠️ Breathtaking Ocean View & Trendy Vibe: The restaurant boasts an incredible view, with the open ocean right in front, and the pirate-themed decor everywhere made our child marvel in wonder and have so much fun.

3. Wave-Free Natural Swimming Haven: Inarajan Natural Pool

After our hearty burger meal, we headed to our next stop for some serious water fun: the 'Inarajan Natural Pool.'

This was actually the spot I was most looking forward to on our South Guam tour!

Volcanic rock formations naturally block the strong waves, creating a fascinating spot where the ocean remains calm like a swimming pool.

With no waves, our 23-month-old baby, Yiseo, could safely enjoy the natural swimming experience in a tube. The transparent water revealed plenty of fish, which our child absolutely loved.

💡 Pro Travel Tip: What to Bring
Since the bottom is rough with rocks and coral, it's essential for both adults and children to bring 'aqua shoes' so you can play safely and have maximum fun without getting hurt!
