I suddenly found myself with about six days of unexpected vacation time. Trying to plan an international trip with less than a week's notice felt incredibly daunting, especially since it was the rainy season in many popular destinations. As a meticulous planner, the thought of booking flights, hotels, and crafting an itinerary in just five days seemed impossible. But then, Guam popped onto my radar, and everything changed!

We opted for a late-night flight with Jin Air. The roughly 4-hour flight was comfortable enough, getting us to Guam without much fuss. Departing at 10:05 PM, a light egg sandwich was served as an in-flight snack – I'd highly recommend grabbing dinner at the airport before you fly!

My top priority for this trip was convenience, especially since I was traveling with my mother. The Guam Lotte Hotel stood out because they frequently have staff members who speak various Asian languages, making it incredibly easy to communicate and get assistance. This also meant a significant portion of the guests were from Asia, creating a very welcoming and familiar atmosphere.

Ultimately, the Lotte Hotel was a fantastic choice for a family trip. Its pool area seamlessly connects to Tumon Beach, making it a favorite among families.

Tumon Beach right in front of the hotel is shallow and calm, almost like a natural swimming pool. Even for a non-swimmer like me, it felt incredibly safe to play in the ocean. The shallow waters teem with fish, so you can enjoy fantastic snorkeling without venturing far from shore.

I'm not a strong swimmer, but I saw so many colorful fish while snorkeling right off the beach!

Guam is also a shopper's paradise! I dedicated an entire day to retail therapy, finding great deals on brands like Polo, various supplements, Tommy Hilfiger, and Calvin Klein. It truly makes Guam an excellent travel destination. (I'll share a separate post about my shopping haul later!)
