Green Lake Ryokan Kawaguchiko Review 2026: Affordable Fuji Views

If you're looking to book a place in Kawaguchiko where both your room and the open-air bath boast stunning Mount Fuji views,

you'd typically expect to pay at least ~$146 to ~$219 per night.

But the Green Lake I visited this time was a steal at just ~$95..!

It's a ryokan with great value for money and high satisfaction, so I'd love to share it with you.

Location

It's located just 6 minutes by car from Kawaguchiko Station,

or 13 minutes by bus.

It boasts excellent accessibility by public transport, and nearby,

you'll find Tenjoyama Park, famous as a Mount Fuji photo spot, as well as

the Music Forest Museum.

Pricing

Both the room and the open-air bath offer Fuji views,

and the price is incredibly affordable at ~$85!

Bookings are only possible through the Jalan.net website,

and payment is accepted in cash on the day of your stay.

Mount Fuji View Accommodation: Green Lake

Kawaguchiko Lake is right in front,

so you can see Mount Fuji even from outside the ryokan.

It was a bit cloudy on the day I visited,

but they said even this much view was lucky.

Plenty of people come and leave without seeing it at all...

There's also private parking, so those arriving by rental car

can visit with ease.

You take off your shoes upon entering for check-in.

The owner barely speaks English, but don't worry – they'll kindly explain everything

using a translation app.

Payment is made at check-out.

We were assigned a room on the second floor.

It was great because the onsen (hot spring) was also on the second floor, making it super convenient!

I didn't get a chance to take photos, but there's also

a microwave in the common area.

Since breakfast and dinner aren't provided, you'll need to buy

food from a convenience store beforehand.

While it has an older feel, the rooms are spacious and clean.

There's a large table, two chairs, a small table, and a TV.

I was worried the floor might be hard to sleep on,

but the duvet and pad were incredibly thick, so it wasn't uncomfortable at all.

I've captured the entire room in a video for you.

It's a little regrettable that there are lines on the window,

but you can just open the window to see, right? Haha.

At this price, to be able to see Mount Fuji all day long

from your room, I mean, where else can you find that?!

Toothbrushes, toothpaste, and yukata are provided in the room,

but one slight drawback is that there's only one towel per person.

And they said no extra towels were available, sadly! ㅠㅠ

In the entryway, you'll find a kettle, tea, cups, and a refrigerator,

and the bathroom is also ordinarily well-equipped.

With the onsen available, I didn't even need to use the bathtub!

Onsen

The men's and women's baths for the onsen switch daily,

so just check the red and blue colors to know which one to enter.

I went during a time when no one else was around to take these photos.

Shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are all provided inside the bath area,

so you don't need to bring your own.

Outdoor Bath (Rotenburo)

The rotenburo (outdoor bath) is located one floor up, on the rooftop.

The view of Mount Fuji from here is truly spectacular.. ❤️

Perhaps because it's a ryokan not widely known to Koreans,

I was able to enjoy it leisurely by myself, both in the morning and afternoon,

as if I had the whole place to myself.

Make sure to take in as much of Mount Fuji as you can when it's visible..

Even when it's perfectly clear, if the weather turns just a little cloudy,

it can suddenly disappear completely ㅠㅠ

Splashing water on your body before entering is a must!

Among the Mount Fuji-view accommodations in Kawaguchiko, Greenlake might just be

the best for value for money!

I certainly got to enjoy Mount Fuji to my heart's content this time! 🩷
