My trip to Gongju this time was a 2-night, 3-day adventure.
I spent the first night at Gongju Damdam Hanok Stay,
and this time, it was Dolldam, another fantastic private hanok stay :)
It was a day with incredibly heavy rain,
and I was so heartbroken that my photos didn't turn out as beautiful as I'd hoped...
Nobody knows my pain! T_T
A stylish stay in the ~$69 price range?
Gongju is truly amazing, just incredible!!
The accommodation is subtly nestled on a gentle hill,
and you can park just below it.
There are many large public parking lots around,
so you don't have to worry about parking at all!
As if it knew how disappointed I was,
the sun briefly came out on the morning of my checkout.
But it was only for about 30 minutes...
Then it got dark again and started raining,
so I couldn't properly enjoy that outdoor flat bench you see! T_T
First, let's take a quick video tour~
Tada-ran-tan~
Tada-da-ra-ran~
As you open the door and step inside, you're greeted by the kitchen!
It featured a clean, wood-toned design.
In the kitchen, a Zaygle grill was set up.
It's absolutely perfect for grilling meat!
We had dinner at a great local restaurant nearby,
so we didn't use it ourselves,
but guests can use the Zaygle in the chilling room.
Of course, there's a coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, and induction cooktop,
and as I mentioned before, a Zaygle grill is also provided.
Pots, wooden dishes, and more
A wide variety of items were thoughtfully provided.
Since this place can accommodate up to four people,
I really liked that everything was generously stocked.
The Gongju Damdam stay I showed you earlier
also had two bathrooms, offering more privacy and
a cleaner experience.
Similarly, Dolldam, this stylish stay, also has two bathrooms, allowing for a more comfortable experience.
You can consider this one the main bathroom,
and there's a smaller bathroom next to the chilling room,
which is good to know.
In front of the bathroom, at the entrance to the bedroom,
there was a mirror, perfect for a quick mirror selfie! Hehe.
Inside, I discovered a charmingly decorated space, complete with cute hangers.
Dolldam was decorated with a chic black & white aesthetic!
The bedroom seemed to follow a similar interior design concept,
and its chic, simple style was perfectly spotless.
And of course, the bedding was incredibly cozy,
I slept like a baby throughout my entire Gongju trip.
Since the bedroom interior was so beautiful,
photos taken here turned out exceptionally well, haha!
True to its reputation as a stylish stay,
Dolldam had photo zones everywhere, making it perfect for capturing memories :)
Stepping out of the bedroom, you'll find
a space featuring a wooden partition.
Here, using the beam projector,
we watched movies and dramas.
Netflix was connected, which made it even more enjoyable :)
The drama I've been really enjoying lately
is 'Lies Hidden in My Garden' on Netflix,
and it happened to be available, so it was absolutely perfect haha!
Perhaps one of Doldam's main highlights is this:
In the living room, there's a round table,
where you can enjoy an expansive, unobstructed view through the full-length window in the corner.
Just like at Damdam, they prepared Gongju Royal Chestnut Breads for us,
so we had them for breakfast and as snacks :)
And they even set up a photo zone like this,
the photos turned out absolutely beautiful, didn't they?
On one side of the living room, there was a space
prepared for listening to LPs,
which was truly overflowing with charm and atmosphere!
Listening to LPs in an atmospheric accommodation in the ~$69 range...
It was my first time trying it, and it was surprisingly captivating.
On one side of the living room, there's a beanbag like this.
And right in front of it is a full-length window!
You can place a Zaygle grill on the table here
and enjoy indoor barbecue.
Imagine grilling while keeping the windows wide open for ventilation...
Wouldn't that be incredibly fun and delicious?
In the chilling room, where the beanbag is located,
you can relax while gazing at the view of Gongju's old downtown...
Rain, rain... why, oh why? haha...
Oh, and if you look out at night, you can also see the night view...
Absolutely stunning!
The chilling room viewed from the outdoor flat wooden deck is also so beautiful, isn't it?
The beanbag is like a swamp you can't escape once you sit in it... haha!
It was truly hard to get up lol
If you come to Gongju, Gongju Chestnut Makgeolli is an absolute must~
I heard the one made at Sagok Brewery was delicious,
so I made sure to buy and try it, and it was indeed wonderfully sweet and tasty.
And that's the review from a light drinker!
Although I couldn't properly enjoy the night view because of the rain,
I still got a wonderfully deep sleep in the hotel-quality bedding,
and as soon as I woke up, I filled my stomach amply
with the coffee they had prepared and Gongju Royal Chestnut Breads.
The next morning, the weather clearly improved,
but despite that, as soon as I tried to take pictures,
the sky clouded over again and raindrops started falling – a bit of magic, huh? haha.
An entire emotional accommodation with such great quality for the ~$69 range...
How can a place this good even exist?! ㅠㅠ!!
The 2-night, 3-day Gongju trip left me with just one thought:
