If you're planning a weekend trip to Gongju, don't just assume the night market will be open!

The Gongju Night Market, also known as Bammashil Night Market, primarily operates on Fridays and Saturdays.

I learned this the hard way myself! I once visited, thinking it would surely be open on a Sunday, only to find it closed and felt quite surprised. Haha!

My first visit to the Bammashil Night Market was during the Gongju National Heritage Night Walk.

Walking along the beautiful Jemincheon Stream, I stumbled upon the Gongju Bammashil Night Market, held at Gongju Sanseong Market Cultural Park, and it was absolutely bustling with people.

Gongju Night Market Schedule: Fridays and Saturdays

The 2026 Gongju Bammashil Night Market autumn season runs from 09/04 to 10/17.

The market is located at Gongju Sanseong Market Cultural Park and is open every Friday and Saturday from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

However, during the Baekje Cultural Festival, specifically on 10/04, there will be special Sunday operating hours!

If you're adding the Gongju Night Market to your travel itinerary, it's always a good idea to double-check the operating days before you head out.

Gongju Night Market Food: What to Eat & Prices

The Gongju Bammashil Night Market had about 12 booths in total, with 10 of them dedicated to food.

The remaining two stalls sold toys and clothing.

Food options ranged from cup rice and dumplings to fried snacks, stir-fried dishes, Korean pancakes (jeon), "sotteok-sotteok" (skewered sausage and rice cakes), waffles, and various beverages.

A board at one end of the Bammashil Night Market conveniently listed all the menus and prices, making it easy to browse. You can click on the photo to see the prices!

Food items generally cost between ~$2 and ~$7, which is quite affordable, making it easy to sample a variety of treats without breaking the bank.

On our visit, we just walked around and didn't purchase any food from the market itself. We weren't particularly hungry, and nothing specific caught our eye. Haha!

Instead, we stopped by the Yose Cafe right next to the night market and enjoyed some Jinmyosu bread!

While I can't offer reviews on the taste or portion sizes of the market food, if culinary exploration is your main goal, I recommend checking out the menu options beforehand to ensure they align with your cravings.

Besides the Bammashil Night Market stalls, I also saw people enjoying food they had purchased from other shops within the Sanseong Market.

Baekje Cultural Festival: Performance Lineup

Beyond the delicious food, the Gongju Bammashil Night Market offers plenty of entertainment.

During the Baekje Cultural Festival, there are various performances planned, including band and cello concerts, along with interactive programs like Baekje mask painting and a wish tree event.
