I visited Seopjang Sonsujebi with my family, based on a recommendation from a local friend. It's always great to get tips from those who know the area best!
We went on a public holiday, October 3rd, 2026 (National Foundation Day in Korea), and even during the daytime, the place was bustling with customers. A good sign for a local favorite!

You know how every truly great local spot always seems to have some 'secret' ingredient or special story? This place is no exception! Haha.
The name "Seopjang" is quite interesting:
"Seop" (섭) refers to mussels
"Jang" (장) means gochujang (Korean chili paste)
So, "Seopjang Kalguksu" or "Seopjang Sujebi" essentially means "Mussel Gochujang Kalguksu/Sujebi."
For our group of three adults, we ordered their famous Seopjang Kalguksu and one roll of Gimbap.
A quick heads-up: if you're dining in, you can't order Gimbap separately; it's a "one main dish per person" policy here!

The Gimbap arrived first.

These rolls were generously filled with rice and quite substantial in size.
At just ~$3 per roll, it's a very affordable and satisfying snack or side dish.
(Indeed, while we were eating, many customers came in just for Gimbap takeout!)

And then, the star of the show: Seopjang Kalguksu!
We opted for a mix of kalguksu (knife-cut noodles) and sujebi (hand-pulled dough flakes), which came with no extra charge.
The total for three people was ~$17, which felt incredibly reasonable for such a hearty meal.
The bowl was brimming with mussels and even had a few shrimp. Both the noodles and sujebi were plentiful, and the broth had a wonderfully spicy kick.
If I had one minor wish, it would be for a bit more potato in the dish – that would have made it even better!
Apparently, it's popular to order fried rice after finishing the noodles, but we were all too stuffed to try it.
Seopjang Sonsujebi, Geoje: My Overall Take
As a local recommendation, my expectations were pretty high. While it wasn't an "OMG, amazing!" kind of experience, it was definitely a solid, satisfying meal.
It's a great spot for an affordable and spicy meal. (My family shared a similar sentiment.)
Taste is always subjective, so take my review as a guide, but definitely give it a try if you're in the area!
That concludes my honest review of
Jangseungpo Kalguksu & Sujebi Restaurant,
Seopjang Sonsujebi in Geojedo.
