Discover the Hi-End Hotel in Geoje's Gohyeon-dong, a perfect budget-friendly stay with an unbeatable location near the bus terminal and local attractions. Ideal for solo travelers!
I recently spent a night at the Hi-End Hotel in Gohyeon-dong, Geoje, conveniently located near the Geoje Bus Terminal. While it leans more towards a motel in style, it was surprisingly clean and perfectly comfortable for a solo traveler. Its best feature, by far, is its fantastic location, making it an ideal choice for those exploring Geoje without a car, like myself.

Hi-End Hotel Location
The Hi-End Hotel is just a 5-minute walk from the Gohyeon Bus Terminal. It's nestled in the bustling Gohyeon-dong area, surrounded by plenty of restaurants and bars. Despite the lively neighborhood, I found my room to be surprisingly quiet, with no disruptive outside noise.

Right next to the hotel, there's a dedicated parking lot for guests, accommodating up to 10 vehicles. However, it tends to fill up quickly, especially on Friday and weekend evenings.
If the hotel's lot is full, you can use the 'Samsung Parking Lot,' which is about 100 feet (30 meters) away. Just bring your parking ticket to the hotel, and you'll get complimentary parking for one vehicle per room.
Check-in & Lobby

In many smaller Korean cities, a 'hotel' often functions more like what Westerners might call a motel. That said, the Hi-End Hotel's lobby was impressively clean and well-maintained from the moment I stepped in.

You pick up your room key on the second floor. This floor also hosts a convenient lounge area equipped with a coffee machine, water dispenser, microwave, and even a vending machine where you can purchase amenities.
A comprehensive shower kit, including a toothbrush, toothpaste, twin-blade razor, cotton swabs, shaving foam, a 'lady's set,' shower towel, foam cleanser, feminine wash, soap, skin toner, lotion emulsion, and even a CD (a nostalgic touch!), is available for just ~$1.

There's also a PC available for printing. While printing needs are rare these days, it's a thoughtful perk to have access to a printer for urgent business tasks or travel documents without any extra charge.

I dropped off my luggage before check-in time and returned around 5:00 PM to get my room. Check-in is a breeze using the self-service kiosk located at the front desk. You simply look up your reservation by name and receive your room key card.
The Room

Rooms are located on floors 3 through 6.

The room itself is perfectly sized for one or two guests. It's thoughtfully uncluttered, featuring a comfortable large bed, a TV, and bathrobes hanging on the wall.

Next to the bed, you'll find a convenient wooden shelf, perfect for keeping your bag and other belongings organized.

Controlling the air conditioning and lighting is simple with the wall-mounted controller. The room is equipped with just the essentials: a hairdryer, electric kettle, green tea, and paper cups.

The room felt fresh, even without opening a window, so I didn't need to use the air purifier. You'll also find two complimentary bottles of water in the mini-fridge.

The bathroom was also well-maintained and clean. The water pressure was excellent, and a complimentary set of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash was provided.

Overall, the Hi-End Hotel in Geoje's Gohyeon-dong offers fantastic value. Being able to walk to both Gohyeon Market and the bus terminal made exploring incredibly easy, and I never had to worry about finding great local food. If you're looking for a comfortable, no-frills stay with excellent accessibility, I definitely recommend it for a night or two.
