When you think of traveling to Switzerland, Jungfraujoch or Interlaken probably come to mind first, right? 🇨🇭
But having just experienced Mount Titlis myself,
I realized that if you truly want to savor the Swiss Alps, Engelberg and Titlis are definitely places worth considering.
If you're wondering, 'How do I get to Titlis?' or 'Is it easier to go on a tour than independently?', then the Mount Titlis tour I joined with the
Switzerland Tourism Mount Titlis tour might be a great resource for you!
I personally ascended Mount Titlis with Switzerland Tourism, experiencing everything from the journey itself to
each activity you can enjoy on-site.
Exploring and enjoying it firsthand as a traveler truly brought home just how captivating
this travel destination truly is. 🏔️✨

I too stayed around Interlaken during my trip two years ago, but after visiting Engelberg and Mount Titlis firsthand this time, my perspective completely changed.
I couldn't help but wonder, "Why isn't this place more well-known among Koreans yet...?"
It was that amazing! 🏔️🤍
📍 Mount Titlis
Mount Titlis, 6390 Engelberg, Switzerland
From the Glacier Cave to the Titlis Cliff Walk, Europe's highest suspension bridge,
the Ice Flyer soaring over the glacier, and Lake Trübsee nestled in the heart of the Alps! There's surprisingly so much to do in a single day.

What's truly special is that it's not just a mountain where you admire the view and descend,
but a place where you can enjoy a variety of Alpine activities in one day, from the Glacier Cave to observation decks, the suspension bridge, chairlifts, a lake, and even a zipline!
That was the biggest draw! Highly recommended for family trips!
🇨🇭 Engelberg, Switzerland
Engelberg is an Alpine resort town located near Lucerne, Switzerland.

It means 'Angel Mountain', and indeed, as you arrive,
the scenery surrounded by the Alps is truly picturesque.

And the most iconic tourist attraction here is none other than
Mount Titlis. 🏔️

While it might not be as familiar a destination as Jungfraujoch or Interlaken for Koreans yet,
my personal wish after this Swiss trip is that "Engelberg and Mount Titlis become much more widely known among Koreans in the future!"

Especially since you can enjoy not only the natural scenery but also a variety of activities all in one place,
I felt it would be perfect for family trips, couple getaways, and even honeymoons.
🚠 Ascending Mount Titlis
The journey up Mount Titlis from Engelberg is quite exciting in itself.

Ascending in the order of TITLIS Xpress → Trübsee → TITLIS Rotair,
you can reach the summit of Mount Titlis at approximately 3,020m above sea level.

The midway stop at Trübsee is also too beautiful to simply pass by!

As you ascend the mountain, the scenery continuously transforms,
changing from lush green meadows to a landscape of snow and glaciers,
making the cable car ride itself feel like a scenic tour.
🏔️ TITLIS Rotair
One of the absolute must-do experiences at Titlis is the TITLIS Rotair.

Because it's a rotating cable car that ascends, you can enjoy 360-degree views of the Alps.

As we ascended, the landscape below the mountain grew smaller and smaller,
and snow-capped peaks and glaciers stretched out all around.

That's when it hit me: "Wow, I'm truly here in the Swiss Alps!" 🤍
🌉 TITLIS Cliff Walk
If I had to choose the most exhilarating activity at Titlis,
it would definitely be the TITLIS Cliff Walk!

It's known as Europe's highest suspension bridge, perched at an altitude of approximately 3,041 meters above sea level.

You'll walk across a narrow bridge connecting two cliffs.
The bridge sways slightly, and looking down is quite dizzying,
so it can feel a bit nerve-wracking at first...

But once you actually start walking, the surrounding scenery is so captivating that
the feeling of wonder quickly outweighs any fear. 😂

On clear days, you can soak in panoramic views of the snow-capped Alps and distant mountain ranges, making it an absolutely incredible photo spot!

However, on windy or cloudy days,
the ambiance transforms entirely.

It feels like walking right through the clouds,
creating an even more mystical and thrilling sensation.
🧊 TITLIS Glacier Cave
Next up is a place where the atmosphere shifts entirely!
It's the TITLIS Glacier Cave.

This is a unique space where you can walk directly inside a glacier, and as soon as you step into the cave,
the temperature plummets, and a breathtaking tunnel of blue-tinged ice unfolds before you.

While outside, you're gazing at the majestic Alpine scenery,
inside the Glacier Cave, it truly feels like you've stepped into the heart of the mountain itself.

As you leisurely stroll through these icy passages,
the intricate formations sculpted by nature are utterly mesmerizing.

It's an even more extraordinary experience to witness firsthand than to see in photos!!

And since the interior is quite chilly,
I highly recommend bringing an outer layer, even if you're visiting in summer!
🪑 Ice Flyer Chairlift

Another must-do at Titlis that you absolutely cannot miss
is the Ice Flyer Chairlift.

Unlike a typical enclosed cable car, this activity takes you over the glacier
in an open-air chairlift.

As you sit on the chair, glaciers and dramatic crevasses stretch out beneath your feet,
making for a slightly dizzying yet truly extraordinary experience.

Especially when you're soaring above the pristine white snowfields
and glance down at the brilliant blue cracks in the ice,
that's when you truly think, "Wow... this is Switzerland!" 🥹

If you're not a fan of heights, it might feel a little nerve-wracking,
but as it's one of the best ways to feel Titlis's glacier up close,
I personally highly recommend it.
🏔️ Alpine Panoramas at Titlis
From the summit of Titlis, you can marvel at the snow-capped Alps
and the endlessly unfolding mountain landscapes of Switzerland.

On a clear day, they say the expansive views stretch all the way to France, Italy, and Germany!

In particular, the glaciers and snowy peaks seen from up high are
far more breathtaking in person than any photo can capture!

Seriously, you see it and it feels like a painting, but photos just can't do it justice..!

Since the scenery can change dramatically depending on the weather,
I highly recommend checking the forecast before your visit if possible. ☁️
🪂 Ziplining Fun at Trübsee
Here's why you'd be missing out if you only went to the Titlis summit and came straight back down!
It's because there are so many activities to enjoy at Trübsee!!

One of them is a 500m-long zipline! 💚😝

It's a course that starts high up on the mountain, flies through Alpine meadows and trees,
and descends near Trübsee Lake. (I loved it the most!)

You just whoosh down, enjoying the feeling of flying without a moment to be nervous. 😂

Ziplining while gazing at the Alpine scenery... the views unfolding right before your eyes are just so mesmerizing!
💚 Trübsee Lake
Personally, one of the places I absolutely recommend at Titlis
is Trübsee Lake.

A clear lake nestled between lush green meadows and the Alpine mountain range,
it's simply wonderful just to walk around the lake here.

On a beautiful day, you can even see the mountains reflected in the lake,
offering a serene atmosphere quite different from the grandeur of the mountain summit.
🚣 Boating at Trübsee
What's more, you can even rent and paddle boats yourself on Trübsee Lake!!!

Taking one of the boats available on the lake and leisurely
rowing in the middle of the Alps is a truly special experience!

There are boats that can accommodate up to 4 people,
and life jackets are provided.

If you're a couple, you can enjoy a romantic paddle, or if you're a family, you can all take a boat together
and leisurely soak in the beauty of the lake. 🤍
🍽️ Michelin-worthy Lunch at Titlis Tower
If you need a meal during your Titlis visit, you absolutely must try dining at
Joseph's Restaurant in the Titlis Tower!

Being able to dine while gazing at the Alps makes it feel like
a scene straight out of a movie in your travels, doesn't it!?

I'll delve into more details about this restaurant in the next post!
It's a casual fine dining spot at the Titlis summit, led by a GaultMillau 17-point chef, and the chef is apparently very famous for having worked at Michelin-starred restaurants in New York! 💪🏻✨

Especially since a full day of exploring, from the cable car to the glacier cave, Cliff Walk, and Ice Flyer, can be quite tiring,
Taking a break for a meal in between is also highly recommended. ☺️
🇨🇭 If Jungfraujoch is all you've known, you absolutely must discover Engelberg too!
Having just explored Engelberg and Titlis in Switzerland myself,
my only regret was wondering, “Why isn't this incredible place as widely known yet as Jungfraujoch and Interlaken?”

While Jungfraujoch and Interlaken are undeniably iconic Swiss destinations,
Titlis, on the other hand, offered a distinct and absolutely captivating charm!!!
🏔️ Majestic Alpine Peaks
🧊 Spellbinding Glacier Cave
🌉 Europe's Highest Suspension Bridge
🪑 Thrilling Ice Flyer (right over the glacier!)
🪂 Exhilarating Alpine Zipline
💚 Serene Lake Trübsee
🚣 Peaceful Lake Boating
The best part? You can immerse yourself in stunning nature AND thrilling activities all in one place! There's so much to experience, you could easily spend an entire day here!

So, if Switzerland is calling your name,
I wholeheartedly recommend adding Engelberg + Titlis to your itinerary as an unmissable day trip from Lucerne!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Personally, I was so thoroughly impressed that I truly hope Engelberg and Titlis become just as renowned among travelers as Jungfraujoch and Interlaken in the future!🇨🇭🤍
