Written by Global Explorer

Hi everyone! During my recent 4-day, 3-night trip to Cambodia, I stayed at the gorgeous Eightfold Urban Resort.
After seeing endless rave reviews and photos of its incredible tropical pool, I booked it instantly—and it did not disappoint!
From the incredibly warm staff to the serene garden vibes, here is why this hotel should be on your Siem Reap itinerary for 2026.
Address: Salakamreuk Rd, Siem Reap Central, Siem Reap
Check-in: 3:00 PM | Check-out: 12:00 PM
- Beautiful outdoor swimming pool
- Slightly tucked away from the noisy Pub Street (Free evening tuk-tuk service provided from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM)
Room Types: Deluxe Double/Twin, Triple, Pool Access Rooms
📍 Eightfold Urban Resort
Krong Siem Reap, Cambodia
While I initially hesitated because it’s slightly outside the bustling center of Pub Street, the complimentary evening tuk-tuk service and the promise of world-class hospitality won me over. Plus, that pool view was just too beautiful to pass up!
We opted for the Deluxe Twin Room, which came out to around ~$64 per night, including a fantastic breakfast!

The moment you step inside from the dusty streets of Siem Reap, it feels like you've entered an entirely different world—a peaceful, lush sanctuary. They invite you to sit down in the open-air lobby while they handle your check-in.

We were treated to a refreshing iced welcome tea and some delicious, lightly sweetened local banana chips. It was the perfect way to cool down and start our vacation on a high note!

True to its name, Eightfold Urban Resort is enveloped in stunning tropical plants and natural wood accents, creating a serene, earthy atmosphere.

An Unexpected Upgrade: The Triple Room
Although we booked a Deluxe Double, there was a minor issue with the air conditioning in our original room. The incredibly accommodating staff immediately upgraded us to a spacious Triple Room! While we lost the direct pool view, having the extra space and a perfectly chilled AC made it a fantastic trade-off.

Right by the entrance, there's a spacious closet, a digital safe, and cozy bathrobes. They also provide comfortable, slip-on resort shoes (similar to Crocs) that you can wear around the property—super convenient!

Our Triple Room featured one double bed and one single bed. The room was perfectly pre-cooled for us, and the smart TV allowed us to stream YouTube easily during our downtime.

The minibar was fully stocked with paid drinks, which were surprisingly reasonable for a boutique resort. A Coca-Cola was only $1.50, though we mostly stuck to our complimentary water bottles.

The room also included a cozy seating area and a private balcony. Though the balcony view wasn't particularly scenic, the sheer size and comfort of the room for just ~$64 a night made our stay incredibly relaxing.

Next up, the bathroom layout.

The bathroom is split into two sections: a dedicated wet room for showering, and a main vanity area featuring the sink, toilet, and a deep soaking tub. The resort provides high-quality toiletries, dental kits, and plush hand towels inside the vanity drawers.

The tub was beautifully designed, though it lacked a hand-held shower attachment, which made rinsing off a bit tricky. We ended up using the separate shower room for our daily washes.

The shower room features both a handheld wand and a refreshing rainfall showerhead. The water pressure was excellent, and the water quality was surprisingly gentle on my hair and skin—no harsh mineral feel at all!

The pool is open daily from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and breakfast is served from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM.
Since the resort is slightly removed from Pub Street, the free evening tuk-tuk service (available from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM) is a lifesaver. You can easily coordinate your rides using WhatsApp, so make sure to download the app before you arrive in Cambodia!

On-Site Restaurant & Breakfast

On our first evening, we decided to dine at the hotel's on-site restaurant. Honestly, it turned out to be one of the best meals we had during our entire trip!
The poolside ambiance combined with the incredible flavors made it a highlight of our stay. If you book a room here, you absolutely have to plan at least one dinner on-site.

The spring rolls were perfectly crispy, and both the Tom Yum soup and fried rice were absolutely outstanding. But the real star was the fresh mango smoothie—thick, creamy, and made with pure local mangoes. I'm still dreaming about it!
>> The Breakfast Spread <<

The daily breakfast was simple but delicious. They had a selection of fresh pastries and an array of tropical fruits like pineapple, papaya, melon, and mango.
Cambodian mangoes are incredibly sweet and cheap, and the ones served at the resort were easily the best we tasted during our entire trip!

The buffet included fresh salads, yogurt, hot stir-fry dishes, eggs cooked-to-order, and various charcuterie. It was the perfect, energizing fuel for long days of temple exploring.

If you're waking up early for the iconic Angkor Wat Sunrise Tour, you can request a breakfast box to-go! They let us choose between sandwiches and toast, packed beautifully with fresh fruit, juice, and milk.
The Showstopper: The Tropical Pool Oasis
The absolute biggest reason I booked Eightfold Urban Resort was the pool. I love tropical, jungle-like pool designs with lush greenery and blooming flowers, and this resort nailed the aesthetic perfectly.

At night, the pool is beautifully illuminated, creating a magical atmosphere. Taking a dip after a hot day of temple hopping felt like absolute heaven.

The Pool Access Rooms allow you to step straight from your room directly into the water. Next time, I’ll definitely spend a little extra to book one of those rooms!

During the day, the pool area transforms into a sunny paradise. Many guests spent their afternoons sunbathing and reading on the loungers.
Even when daytime temperatures spiked to a hot 97°F, the dry season breeze and the shade of the tropical palms kept us perfectly comfortable. It truly felt like a slice of paradise.

The natural, eco-friendly design of the pool area was incredibly healing. My only regret was traveling with family and not taking enough solo photos in this picture-perfect spot!

On our final day, our flight was scheduled for late in the evening. While late check-out is available for $10 per hour, the staff kindly let us know that we could continue using the pool and spa shower facilities even after checking out!
So, we went on a morning tour, spent the afternoon swimming, showered at the spa, and headed straight to the airport feeling completely refreshed.

Note: Since the spa shower might be occupied if they have active bookings, be sure to ask the front desk in advance!
The Verdict: Is It Worth It?
The only minor drawback of Eightfold Urban Resort is its slight distance from Pub Street. However, because Pub Street can get extremely loud at night, staying in this peaceful neighborhood actually allowed us to sleep soundly.
With their world-class hospitality, incredible breakfast, and jaw-dropping pool, all for around ~$64 a night, this is easily one of the best value-for-money boutique hotels in Siem Reap.
If you are planning an independent trip to Cambodia, I highly recommend booking your stay here!
