Dahyangsochuk Hanok Stay Exterior

Upon arrival, I was genuinely surprised by the sheer size of the property. The areas marked in red in the photo all indicate guest rooms.
There are a total of 7 rooms, and each varies slightly in terms of cooking facilities, occupancy, and bed types.

The Hanok rooms are arranged in a 'ㅁ' shape around a spacious central lawn. All rooms, except for Chahyanggi 1 and 2, are detached private units.
(Chahyanggi rooms share a central wooden floor, with rooms on either side).

I stayed in the Haengnangchae room for 2 nights and 3 days. Being a detached unit, noise wasn't an issue, and I enjoyed waking up to the soothing sounds of nature each morning.
With the expansive lawn and traditional Hanok architecture, I initially worried about insects. However, all windows are equipped with screens, so I enjoyed a bug-free stay.

Opening the windows wide in the morning and enjoying a simple bowl of ramen — that's the essence of a Hanok village retreat, isn't it? My 2-night stay felt far too short!

Dahyangsochuk Hanok Stay in Gangjin is quite popular with families and those traveling with children. The large, grassy property offers plenty of space for kids to run and play.
Listening to the bamboo rustle in the breeze under a clear blue sky only deepened my appreciation for Dahyangsochuk Hanok Stay.

This is the Dahyangsochuk Home Cafe, where the owner resides. She kindly offers a cup of coffee to all guests.
On my last day, I had the pleasure of chatting with the owner, who shared that she was a retired elementary school principal. She transformed the traditional Hanok, which has been in her family for generations, into a guesthouse after her retirement.
Witnessing her dedication – waking up early every morning to tidy the rooms and tend to the garden – truly inspired me to reflect on my own habits!
Dahyangsochuk Hanok Stay Haengnangchae (Room 1)

The interior of the Haengnangchae room is crafted from cypress wood. It was even cleaner and more satisfying than the photos online, exceeding my expectations.

It's fully equipped with two beds, a bathroom, a sink, a refrigerator, TV, air conditioning, a fan, a table, and everything else you might need.

The bedding and pillows were incredibly fresh and clean, and the blackout curtains ensured I slept soundly until morning.
Waking up and opening the window to the sound of cuckoos was pure bliss.

Watching TV with a beer and some snacks in the evening felt just like visiting my grandmother's house in the countryside. The peaceful 'chon-cance' (village vacation) atmosphere truly put my mind at ease during my stay.

A sink, coffee pot, microwave, and portable burner are all provided, and the large refrigerator is very convenient.
There's also a clothes rack and ample space for luggage, which was a plus.

Cooking utensils like frying pans and pots are available. When I cooked ramen in the morning, I noticed the burner was sparkling clean, which showed just how well everything is maintained.

Towels and a hairdryer are neatly placed in a basket. The owner mentioned to just ask if I needed more towels, which were incredibly fluffy and fresh.

The bathroom is spacious, free of odors or bugs, and has excellent water pressure.
Inside, you'll find shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and toothpaste.

Dahyangsochuk Hanok Stay was so wonderful that it alone makes me want to revisit Gangjin. If I come again, I'd love to just relax at the accommodation and skip other sightseeing.
I took advantage of the Gangjin Half-Price Travel promotion, and the owner proactively provided the necessary accommodation receipt for reimbursement. *Simply submit it when settling your travel expenses!
