Concon House Hanoi Old Quarter Review 2026: Prime Location & Value

Hanoi Hotel Recommendation

Planning a trip to Hanoi? Most travelers gravitate towards the historic Old Quarter and the serene Hoan Kiem Lake. And for good reason! Choosing accommodation within the Old Quarter or right between it and Hoan Kiem Lake is an excellent strategy. Imagine wrapping up a day of exploring and simply strolling back to your hotel, no need for a Grab taxi. It's incredibly convenient, whether you need to pop back for something or just want a quick break.

That's exactly what I did on my last visit, and I was so impressed that I just had to share this gem with you.

Concon House: The Perks

Nestled down a quiet alley within the Old Quarter, Concon House boasts an unbeatable location. You're literally a 2-minute walk from the famous Ta Hien Beer Street and just a stone's throw from Hoan Kiem Lake. I've actually stayed right next door before, and the advantage of this spot is consistent: you're close enough to all the main attractions and bustling streets, yet tucked away in an alley that provides a peaceful escape from the city's vibrant noise.

Finding it can be a little tricky if you're relying solely on Google Maps, as it's at the very end of an alley.

Once you spot that alley, you're on the right track! Just follow it all the way to the end, past a hostel, and you'll find Concon House on your right.

Unlike a previous place I reviewed, Concon House has staff on-site, just like most other hotels in Hanoi. And let me tell you, they are incredibly friendly! If you're working in the communal lounge on the ground floor, they'll often bring you a complimentary coffee or tea.

The Downsides

While the value and location are definite highlights, the main drawback for some might be the room size. This could be due to me selecting a basic room type, but we'll dive deeper into the room conditions below.

Rooms & Bathrooms

Yes, the rooms are on the smaller side. However, the thoughtful and stylish interior design makes it feel quite cozy and inviting. Plus, considering I chose it specifically as a budget-friendly option in Hanoi, I found it perfectly acceptable.

The toilet and shower room are conveniently separated, and there's no bathtub. You'll find a separate vanity area outside the shower, complete with amenities, a hairdryer, and fresh towels.

Other Facilities

On the first floor, you'll find a common kitchen area (though breakfast isn't provided).

There's also a library-style common lounge. It's a fantastic spot to get some work done, and as a bonus, the staff will often bring you coffee or tea while you're there. No need to venture out for your caffeine fix!

You can store your luggage before or after these times and continue to use the lobby's common space, where the friendly staff will undoubtedly offer you a coffee. I chose this spot for its incredible access to the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem, but next time, I'll bring you a recommendation for a quieter Hanoi Hoan Kiem hotel further south, perhaps closer to Trang Tien.
