Uncover Coffee In, a beloved gallery cafe in Seoseok, Hongcheon, Gangwon-do. Explore its beautiful garden, art annex, and savor exquisite handmade beverages. Your perfect serene escape awaits!
Gangwon-do’s Hongcheon has truly become a second home for me. With each visit, I discover new corners and places that capture my heart.
My parents live deep in the mountains of Nae-myeon, where amenities are scarce within walking distance. So, I often find myself heading to nearby Seoseok for supplies and a taste of local life. And when I’m in Seoseok, whether I’m craving a refreshing cold drink on a hot summer day or a cozy warm beverage when it’s chilly, there’s one cafe I always gravitate towards: Coffee In. It's a place I genuinely adore.

Even in a small town like Seoseok, there are several cafes, but Coffee In consistently remains my top pick.
Their coffee and handmade beverages are simply delicious, and the cafe’s atmosphere is wonderfully inviting.
The cafe building itself was always charming, but I recently heard they’d added a new gallery and garden. So, after attending the Seoseok Donghak Cultural Festival, I made sure to stop by Coffee In to see the new additions for myself.
Coffee In's Gallery and Garden in Seoseok
Wow, seeing the newly expanded and tidied space was absolutely delightful! It's even more beautiful than I imagined.
After placing my order at the main cafe building, I stepped out into the garden to find a pristine, well-maintained space leading to a separate gallery annex.
The combination of crisp white walls and exposed rafters was completely my style – so chic and inviting!
The gallery annex also features ample seating, so there's plenty of room to relax and enjoy the ambiance.
After exploring the annex, we decided to settle down in the main building.
Coffee In's handmade beverages are genuinely rich and delicious – you really can't go wrong with any choice on their menu.

It's funny, we're the kind of people who visit a cafe and end up ordering everything *but* coffee! Since we're not big coffee drinkers, it's always a pleasant surprise to find a cafe that puts so much effort into its non-coffee options.
If you're in the area, I highly recommend enjoying a delicious meal at Saenggok Makguksu, a fantastic local makguksu (buckwheat noodles) restaurant nearby, and then heading to Coffee In for a perfect dessert. It's the ideal combination!
So, if you're searching for a charming cafe to visit in Seoseok, Hongcheon, make sure to stop by Coffee In. You won't regret it!
