Coco Island Villa & Hotel Ninh Binh
Hey there, Global Explorers! Jae-yi here!
Today, I'm super excited to share a gem that even had my friends asking "Where IS that?!" when I posted it on my Instagram stories:
Coco Island Villa & Hotel Ninh Binh!
Let's dive in and explore every detail!
Ninh Binh is an incredible destination, just about a two-hour journey from Hanoi.
It's a popular spot for day trips and often visited with guided tours.
This was actually my third trip to Hanoi,
and having already explored the wonders of Hang Mua and Tam Coc,
my sister and I decided to venture out on a free-and-easy trip to Ninh Binh this time!
After a bit of deliberation, we settled on this accommodation,
and it turned out to be a fantastic choice with incredible value for money!
For our journey there, we traveled by train.
If I get the chance, I'll definitely share more details about train travel
in a future post!
Once we arrived at Ninh Binh train station, we hopped into a Grab
and made our way to Coco Island Villa & Hotel.
Initially, I was a little surprised when our Grab driver dropped us off here...
but then I realized the hotel was just across that charming little bridge!
As we checked in and confirmed our reservation,
we were offered refreshing welcome tea — such a thoughtful touch!
We had booked our stay through Agoda.

Coco Island Villa & Hotel: Room Condition
Coco Island Villa & Hotel Ninh Binh
And then, we stepped into our room — it was absolutely spotless with incredibly high ceilings!
Even the rotating fan had such a charming, vintage feel to it.
Beyond the glass door, you can spot coconut trees
laden with coconuts — a truly tropical sight!
As sisters, we wisely opted for a twin room!
Two bottles of mineral water, coffee, and plush robes were all neatly prepared
for us, ensuring a comfortable stay.
The bathroom was also remarkably clean.
Overall, the room condition was excellent!
However, because of the exceptionally high ceilings, it took a bit longer for the air conditioning to cool down the room after being turned off and on again.
So, here's a savvy traveler's tip: if you're stepping out for a short while, leave a spare card
in the power slot to keep the AC running. Trust me, it's a game-changer!
Through the large window right next to the bathroom,
you're treated to a cool, lush green landscape!
Just remember to draw the curtains when you're using the bathroom—
privacy first, always!
Ah... and this was
the biggest reason we chose this accommodation: the pool!
Nestled among lush green trees,
the pool was just beautifully laid out.
We also ordered a refreshing mango smoothie.
And right next to the pool, there was a space for
playing mini-golf! Golf clubs were readily available
for guests to use.
My sibling and I woke up early on the morning
of our check-out day and played a round of mini-golf.
Even though we didn't really know how to play golf,
we just made up some simple rules and had a blast! Lol.
It rained on our second day, but I loved this place even more
because it was beautiful even in the rain.
Bicycles are also available for rent, and there's a place
to play pool at the reception area!
My sibling and I rode bikes to a café they had visited
on their previous trip to Ninh Binh.
I'll share that review next time!

Breakfast at Coco Island Villa & Hotel Ninh Binh
And honestly, I wasn't expecting much,
but the breakfast was incredibly satisfying!
Seriously, the breakfast spread was so much better than I anticipated!
As someone who loves Banh Cuon and Pho Cuon,
just having those alone is enough to devour a whole meal in no time!
Some dishes I was too busy to try are catching my eye now,
and I can't help but feel a little regretful that I missed them....
And can you see the color of that mango...?
The mangoes were seriously delicious... so good!
And there was this hazelnut chocolate jam,
similar to Nutella. If you toast some bread,
spread this jam, and then top it with mango, it's absolutely divine.
It reminded me of the mango roti I had in Thailand!
In Vietnam, you'll usually find an omelet bar alongside
