Chestertons Sokcho Review 2026: Your Perfect Lakeside Getaway
Discover Chestertons Sokcho, a serene lakeside retreat perfect for your 2026 autumn family getaway. Enjoy stunning Cheongchoho views, spacious suites, and prime access to local attractions.
With September 2026 and the Chuseok holiday approaching, it's the perfect time to start planning a cozy getaway with your family or loved ones.
If you're looking for a refreshing escape, we highly recommend Chestertons Sokcho, nestled by the serene Cheongchoho Lake in Gangwon-do.
While Sokcho is often known for its stunning beaches, exploring the area around the lake offers a uniquely charming experience.
Unlike the bustling beachfront, Cheongchoho Lake provides a tranquil atmosphere with beautiful lake views, convenient facilities, and cultural attractions right at your fingertips.
And right on the shores of this peaceful lake sits Chestertons Sokcho, a quiet haven for travelers.
Cheongchoho Lake View Accommodation
Chestertons Sokcho
Chestertons Sokcho features four accommodation buildings. For the most breathtaking direct views of Cheongchoho Lake, you'll want to aim for the larger three-room or larger suites in buildings B and C, which are closest to the water.

Stepping into the three-room Royal suite we stayed in, the expansive feeling of the living room was simply incredible.
With one spacious living room and three bedrooms, the three-room Royal suite was perfectly suited for a large family vacation.

The views of Cheongchoho Lake and the distant Sokcho Eye, enjoyed morning and evening, were enough to bring a sense of complete relaxation to the whole family.

While the bedrooms primarily face the front buildings, some offer partial glimpses of the lake, including the Expo Tower.

With two bedrooms featuring beds and one spacious ondol (traditional heated floor) room, it comfortably accommodated our family of eight.

There was plenty of bedding available, ensuring comfort even for the maximum number of guests.

The convenience of having a bathroom with a Cheongchoho Lake view in the living area, plus an additional bathroom in the master bedroom, was a huge plus.

While direct Cheongchoho Lake views are only available in some of the three-room or larger suites, anyone can enjoy panoramic lake vistas from the hotel's rooftop.

As of early September 2026, the three-room suites are almost fully booked for the upcoming Chuseok holiday, but one-room accommodations are still available for reservation.

Chestertons Sokcho boasts a prime location, with the Cheongchoho Lake walking trail and park nearby, as well as easy access to supermarkets, exhibition spaces, and various restaurants.
Fish markets and Daepo Port are also close by, so if you're craving fresh seafood, you're in luck!

The Chestertons Sokcho swimming pool is exclusively for guests, and free for the number of occupants registered per room. It operates until October 2026, so you can make the most of it before the weather gets too chilly.
The Chi-yoo-in Sauna, located in the lobby, is available for an additional fee.
For a family trip to Sokcho, Chestertons Sokcho comes highly recommended, offering great value for its price!
