Sonobelle Cheonan Water Park Resort Review 2026: Family Fun & Amenities
Discover our honest review of Sonobelle Cheonan Resort, highlighting its fantastic water park, comfortable suites, and convenient on-site dining options for a memorable getaway.

I visited Sonobelle Resort Cheonan for a high school reunion. Last year, we booked a regular pension, but when we tallied up the costs for ingredients to grill meat and the accommodation fee, it just seemed more convenient to stay at a hotel or resort, so we opted for Sonobelle Resort.
It's also fantastic for friends coming with kids to enjoy the water park, and honestly, I think it's just the perfect spot.

Sonobelle Resort Parking, Check-in

Sonobelle Resort offers parking from B1 to B3 (basement levels 1 to 3). On weekend afternoons, the ground floor and B1-B2 were almost full, so I comfortably parked on B3.

Check-in starts at 3 PM, and there's usually a wait between 3 PM and 3:30 PM due to a rush of guests. Most people visit Sonobelle Cheonan to enjoy Ocean Adventure
and it's very popular because it operates even in autumn and winter.

Once you enter the water park and play, that's it. I thought I could go and play again until check-out the next day, but it doesn't operate like a regular swimming pool; entry is only allowed once.
Please refer to the guide for details on early check-in, late check-out policies, and various programs like the sauna, Chef's Kitchen, lunch, dinner, and buffet.
Rooms

We booked a total of three (east) Suite Clean (Triple) rooms. We did this so friends with families and single friends could sleep separately, haha. Rooms come in two types: those with cooking facilities and those without, but the price difference isn't significant.
There are a few dining options within the resort, so if you want to eat conveniently, dining out at one of them is a good idea. However, it's difficult to leave the resort by car to visit outside restaurants because this place is quite secluded, with nothing much around.

The beds are plush, and the soundproofing is excellent. My friend who snores felt bad and slept on the sofa, but it just echoed and permeated all the rooms, haha! Other than that, it was fine. There was absolutely no noise from adjacent rooms or the hallway.

Two complimentary bottles of water, a hairdryer, glass cups, spoons, forks, a fruit knife, dishes, and an electric kettle are provided.

The mountain view from the balcony isn't bad either.

The smaller bathroom has a toilet and a sink,

while the main bathroom right next to it has a separate shower, toilet, and sink. I was also very pleased with the shampoo and body wash.

Yeogi Eottae is currently running a special Sonobelle Cheonan exclusive discount week. There's a sweet deal where choosing the Sonobelle Family option provides breakfast or Ocean Adventure access.

Water Park

I didn't personally use the water park, but a friend who came with their family had an absolute blast there. Even though it was peak summer in August and the weather was hot, they said they felt cold after a few hours of playing in the water.

If you're visiting with children, Ocean Adventure is a must-do. For two people, or if you're not big on water activities, choosing a package that includes breakfast is a great option.

Chef's Kitchen Dinner, Breakfast

My original plan was to go to the BBQ Smokehouse for dinner, but it wasn't operating due to the rain. So, we had no choice but to eat at Chef's Kitchen. They offer breakfast in two shifts (Part 1 and Part 2) and a dinner buffet, and buying individual meals can be quite expensive.
Type | Price | Notes |
Breakfast Buffet | Adults: ~$29 Children: ~$17 Infants: ~$12 | 10% discount for hotel guests Operates in 2 shifts on Sundays and Mondays Part 1: 07:00 ~ 08:30 Part 2: 09:00 ~ 10:30 |
Lunch | | 11:30 ~ 15:00 |
Dinner | | 17:30 ~ 21:00 |
Dinner Buffet | Adults: ~$58 Children: ~$29 Infants: ~$19 | 5% discount for hotel guests 18:00 ~ 21:00 |
Breakfast & Dinner Package | Adults: ~$65 Children: ~$34 Infants: ~$23 | Saturdays, Sundays (This package was available when I visited on August 22nd-23rd; please check if it's still offered) |
The breakfast and dinner package was ~$65 per person, so I chose that. Considering the dinner buffet alone, the price difference was only about ~$7, so a package that includes breakfast is a great deal, right?

I anticipated sleeping in, so I chose the second breakfast shift for the next day, and they were really strict about the timing. You should choose between Part 1 and Part 2 according to your schedule.

The overall dinner buffet selection was decent. It wasn't outstanding, but it certainly wasn't lacking — a solid foundation, I'd say.

The meats, salads, fried dishes, and other items were all seasoned just right.

Among them, the sashimi and sushi were particularly delicious.
Other Facilities

In the evening, I headed to the arcade. Back in my school days, I used to be quite the hotshot, but now I'm just a regular middle-aged guy.

Pro tip: try to avoid the fighting games and airplane games if you can – the joysticks and buttons are all completely broken! 😂 Seriously, they need some maintenance!

You can also practice baseball batting at Legend Heroes.

There's a convenience store on-site, so anything you might be missing – alcohol, drinks, snacks, toiletries – you can buy right here.

The next day's breakfast wasn't drastically different, but instead of heavy dishes, they offered options like rice noodles and eggs.
And that was my review of Sonobelle Cheonan Resort. It’s perfect for a cozy date for two, and I think it’s an ideal spot for families with kids or just the whole family. Yeogi Eottae (How's Here) offers both breakfast packages and Ocean Adventure packages, so if you're planning a visit, you might want to book through them!
