Do you love charcuterie?
For me, jamón, prosciutto, salami, chorizo...
I'm absolutely obsessed with all of them, so I regularly order and indulge in them.
And since I was traveling in the land of prosciutto, I absolutely had to keep indulging!
Among all the choices, La Prosciutteria was the one place that just called to me!
La Prosciutteria: A Must-Visit Spot in Bologna & Florence
Opening Hours
11:15 AM - 11:00 PM
This place is actually a chain restaurant.
Florence is the original branch, and they have several locations throughout central-northern Italy.
That's why I've listed it as a must-try in both Bologna and Florence. Ha ha!
I didn't have time to visit in Florence, so I made sure to go in Bologna :)
Most travelers tend to skip Bologna, so if you're in Florence, you'll find a few branches there!
They also have locations in Milan and Venice.

I visited late at night, and it was quite bustling, so to give you a glimpse of the daytime ambiance,
I've pulled the photo above from their official Instagram account.

From the moment you see it, the shop just oozes European charm and feels like an absolute gem!
Am I just completely biased towards European aesthetics?
Well, what can I say?
The sign is beautiful... I just love everything about it!
The atmosphere was quite lively.
It was absolutely packed with people, and the air buzzed with conversation! If you prefer quiet, this might not be your spot...

The reason I absolutely HAD to visit this place?
I saw photos like these!
Irresistible...
Even now, just looking at these pictures makes me crave it so much!
Anyway, you can enjoy pretty much any cold cut imaginable here.
Salami of all kinds, mortadella, porchetta, prosciutto...
They also have sandwiches, like the one in the right picture; if these were available in my neighborhood, I'd be there every single day!
I visited quite late in the evening.
When I stepped inside, it wasn't a huge place, and everyone was sitting quite close,
so I just managed to snag a spot.
You can also make table reservations on their website, so booking ahead might be a good idea!
Honestly, I had already decided on my order in my head before I even arrived. Haha.

It's almost like a signature menu (everyone seems to order it!).
I ordered the Gourmet Chopping Board for two.
And I also ordered a bottle of Lambrusco, the local specialty wine.
Wine isn't terribly expensive, even if you order a whole bottle.
(Their wine menu is incredibly extensive, too!)
Back home in Korea, I usually stick to wine by the glass, but on trips like this, it's the perfect excuse to order a whole bottle!
The Lambrusco was 17 Euros a bottle.

First up, the refreshing Lambrusco,
which we happily gulped down.

And here it is, what we ordered:
The CHARCUTERIE BOARD!!!!!!!!
Since it was just for two people, it might look a little less grand than the photos on their official website... lol.
But everything was absolutely delicious!
Cheese, cold cuts, bread, and wine—this, I thought, is pure happiness.
So there you have it, my excitedly written review of La Prosciutteria, a true gem in Bologna.
If you ever find yourself in Italy, how about making this your incredible late-night snack (or early dinner)?!
