Step inside, and you're immediately greeted by a lively atmosphere, buzzing music, and the joyful clamor of people digging into their meals. Everyone's sporting an apron and plastic gloves – it's all part of the fun!

I visited the Koreatown branch, which is super easy to get to and a favorite among both locals and international travelers.

How to Order & Pro Tips
Ordering at The Boiling Crab is a simple four-step process:
① Select your seafood & toppings - ② Choose your sauce - ③ Pick your spice level -
④ Add your sides.
For our group of three, we went with:
Seafood: 1 Snow Crab + 1.5 lbs Shrimp + 1 lb Clams + 1 lb Mussels
Toppings: 3 Corn on the Cob + 1 Sausage
Spice: Mild
Side: Fried Calamari
Drinks: 3 Heinekens
Our total bill came out to $168.73, and with a 15% tip, the grand total was $194.04.

My Experience
Once you order, they bring out disposable aprons, which really set the mood for this messy, fun, American-style seafood feast.

Our table was set with limes, refreshing ice water, and salt and pepper.

That ice water was absolutely essential for a hot LA day! And a pro tip: squeezing some fresh lime juice into the salt and pepper dip really amplifies the flavor of the seafood.

They also provide tongs, spoons, and plenty of plastic gloves. They even give you extra gloves, which is super convenient since they can tear easily during such an enthusiastic meal!

The seafood arrives in a giant plastic bag – this is the iconic Boiling Crab presentation!

Once poured out onto the table, it's truly a sight to behold – so generous and inviting!

I started with the shrimp, and wow, the savory and spicy sauce coating each piece was absolutely delicious.

The mussels and clams were plump and juicy. I was particularly fascinated by the green-lipped mussels, which are a unique treat!

While cracking open the Snow Crab took a little effort, the generous amount of sweet, succulent meat inside made it completely worth it.

💡 Pro Tip
The flavors are quite bold, so ordering a side of white rice to soak up that delicious sauce is highly recommended!

The corn on the cob, drenched in sauce, was an absolute winner, but the sausage was just okay.

Our side order of fried calamari arrived fresh from the fryer, perfectly crispy and hot.

To finish, they thoughtfully provide lemon-scented wet wipes, which are perfect for cleaning up after a truly hands-on meal!

Overall Thoughts
The Boiling Crab in LA's Koreatown is definitely a spot to hit up for a memorable meal. It offers a casual, energetic vibe where you can enjoy fresh seafood drenched in delicious, spicy sauces.
Considering LA prices, it's quite reasonable, and if you visit right at opening or during lunch, you can usually snag a table without much of a wait.
While there might be similar seafood boil restaurants elsewhere, the ambiance and authentic taste you get here are truly unmatched. Plus, the friendly staff, some of whom speak Korean, make ordering a breeze!
If you're in Los Angeles and craving a flavorful, spicy seafood experience, I highly recommend making a stop at The Boiling Crab in Koreatown!

It is open from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday. On Saturdays and Sundays, it operates from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, so please check the hours according to the day of your visit.
You can choose from Lemon Pepper, Garlic Butter, and The Whole Sha-Bang, which is a mix of all three sauces. After selecting a sauce, you can also choose the spice level according to your preference.
The cost of the food, including the seafood, toppings, a side of fried calamari, and drinks, came to $168.73. With a 15% tip added, the final payment was $194.04.
Since the seafood seasoning is quite strong, we recommend ordering white rice and mixing it with the sauce. For toppings, adding corn is highly recommended as it absorbs the sauce well and makes the meal even more delicious.
