When looking for accommodation in Bohol,
I found myself deliberating:
should I choose a place near Alona Beach,
or venture to the quieter Dumaluan Beach?
Alona is convenient, packed with restaurants, bars, and dive shops,
but it's also undeniably busy, noisy,
and honestly, the water isn't the cleanest.
For this trip, my goal was crystal clear:
'To truly relax and unwind.'
That's why I chose Bohol Beach Club (BBC),
nestled on Dumaluan Beach,
and my 3-day, 2-night stay in the Green Room
was absolutely delightful.
Today, I'll share my genuine review,
along with a detailed price comparison across booking sites!
Alona vs. Dumaluan: Start by Choosing Your Accommodation Location

To summarize:
if you plan to be out late enjoying the nightlife, choose near Alona.
If your goal is to swim and relax in a quiet spot during the day,
Dumaluan is your pick.
For me, it was the latter, and BBC,
utilizing Dumaluan Beach as its private beach,
was the perfect match for my goal of 'rest and relaxation.'
And the accessibility, which I initially worried about,
turned out to be no issue at all.
Alona is just a 12-minute car ride away,
and if you ask the hotel to call a 'tuk-tuk' (tricycle),
one arrives right away.
We also ventured out once to enjoy the nightlife,
and I definitely recommend this combination:
a tranquil stay with the option to visit Alona when you want some excitement. Haha!

Green Room: My 3-Day, 2-Night Stay Review
The room I stayed in was the
Green Room, featuring a semi-double and a queen bed.
The room size is 35m², accommodating
up to 3 adults.
My boyfriend and I used it just the two of us,
and the room was spacious enough that
we experienced no discomfort.
It also seemed perfectly adequate for three friends
traveling together.
The room condition was generally clean and well-maintained,
so there was no damp or musty feeling.
Sometimes resort bedding can feel a bit questionable,
but here, it was wonderfully plush and soft.
As you can see, all room amenities were well-provided,
including a refrigerator, safe, wardrobe, umbrella,
coffee pot, and hairdryer.
What's unique is that you have to get your water from the water dispenser in the lobby, right next to the rooms. Haha.
(They say it's for environmental conservation...)
Especially in Southeast Asian resorts, my biggest worries are usually the air conditioning and water pressure,
but it was genuinely cool and the water pressure was excellent.
The bathroom was super comfortable because the sink, shower, and toilet
were all separated.
And for the final highlight,
as soon as you open your room door,
you're greeted by a stunning view of green lawns & the refreshing ocean.
The Pool and Facilities are Also Fantastic
At Bohol Beach Club,
you can easily spend your entire day
enjoying everything the resort has to offer.
There's a really large swimming pool,
and right next to it, a separate shallow pool for kids,
so families with children can relax and play without a single worry.
With fewer guests, it's wonderfully peaceful and quiet!
Honestly, while the pool at Henann Resort
looked more glamorous and appealing,
it was also crowded and bustling,
so I opted for BBC instead. Haha.
Dumaluan Beach, exclusively for Bohol Beach Club guests,
was breathtakingly beautiful, almost beyond words. Haha.
It wasn't just beautiful to look at;
we could even spot fish,
so we went snorkeling right off the beach!
I've been to Alona Beach too,
but honestly, the water quality here is simply incomparable... Haha.
Even when the sun set each evening,
unlike the bustling Alona Beach,
we could enjoy it in a much more relaxed atmosphere.
There's also a gym, which is a huge plus
for those who stick to their workout routines
even while on vacation!

Better Than Breakfast:
Agotata Restaurant is a Must!
Bohol Beach Club's breakfast offers a standard resort lineup:
omelets, bacon, hash browns, fried rice, juice, and more.
It's just decent!
However, the 'Agotata Restaurant', where you can enjoy lunch and dinner,
was truly satisfying!
We ended up having both lunch and dinner at the resort,
and the prices weren't expensive, plus the food was delicious!
(Around ~$14 per person)
Especially while enjoying our meal,
this stunning blue ocean view was absolutely fantastic.
It was like a sudden clarity, a fresh perspective opening up for me...?
The fact that even non-guests of BBC come here for day use
just to dine and enjoy the beach
means the food's quality is pretty much guaranteed, right? Haha.
In the evenings, they even have live performances,
so you can listen to music while having dinner—
talk about the perfect way to unwind and heal! ~

Based on conditions for a Green Room with breakfast included and free cancellation,
I personally compared prices
across each booking site.
When I made my reservation, Agoda was the cheapest,
and after checking again, it seems Agoda is still
the lowest price right now.
However, the cheapest booking site can vary
depending on your stay dates or when you book,
so I recommend checking all three links
to compare prices one more time !
And here's a tip for you:
Agoda often shows lower prices when you're logged out.
I logged in again because it mentioned applying coupons,
but when I checked,
the price was actually displayed as higher.
If you're considering booking with Agoda,
be sure to compare prices both before and after logging in.
Bohol Beach Club: Perfect For...
Those who need genuine rest, not a bustling trip,
Those who want to swim and snorkel in a pristine ocean,
Families traveling with children,
Those who want to enjoy all their meals within the resort,
Those who don't want to sacrifice easy access to Alona Beach.
For all of you, Bohol Beach Club is absolutely perfect! Haha.
On the other hand, if you plan to party in Alona every night
or prefer walking to various restaurants,
then accommodation near Alona Beach might be a better fit for you.
