Hotels Near My Dinh Stadium: Organized by Distance

BIGBANG Hanoi Concert is coming up, but...
Where should you stay?
Vietnam World Tour
When it comes to BIGBANG Hanoi Concert accommodations,
should you stay close to the stadium, or is the charming Old Quarter a better bet?
To give you the answer right off the bat,
it really depends on whether you're catching both days of the concert or just one.
Unlike Seoul, where the subway can whisk you almost anywhere,
Hanoi's public transport system means that the distance to the stadium can actually make a much bigger difference than you'd expect.
As luck would have it, just a few months ago,
I actually attended a concert at My Dinh Stadium.
So, I've put together this guide based on my personal experiences and everything I learned.

When it comes to accommodation, you essentially have three main choices:
1. Within walking distance of the stadium.
2. A 10-minute drive away.
3. Staying in the Old Quarter and just traveling to and from the venue on the concert day(s).
Let's break down each option and compare them.

My Dinh Stadium: Entry Process and Inside Scoop on Facilities
#BIGBANGHanoi #MyDinhStadium #MyDinhNationalStadium
Before we dive into accommodations, it feels right to cover something crucial first.
Knowing what to expect from the stadium itself will really help you decide where to settle in for your stay!
You'll typically go through two security checks for entry
First, a bag check with an X-ray scanner at the entrance gate.
Then, another check when you actually step inside the stadium.
While they're pretty straightforward, it's still two separate screenings.
→ Make sure to arrive with plenty of time to spare, keeping those potential queueing times in mind!

Your Tickets Need to Be Exchanged for Wristbands
Once you're in with your printed QR code,
you'll find the exchange booth on your right.
That's where they'll swap your ticket for a wristband.
(This is based on recent events held at My Dinh Stadium.)

Restrooms are Available on Every Floor
No need to trek all the way down to the first floor!
This is actually quite important info.
Don't Count on the Elevators
The day I visited, it was unfortunately out of order.
With my seat on the 5th floor, it was a good stair climb with my trusty two legs!
And the Exit Process is a Whole Other Story..!!
Thousands of people pour out all at once.
The area around the stadium gets **incredibly congested**.
**Catching a Grab can be tricky.**
**Make sure to check the exit directions in advance,**
**and it's wise to set a meeting point with your group.**
What About the Seat View...?
Since the stadium is quite large,
if you're in an upper-tier seat, you'll mostly see the artist's face on the jumbo screen.
On the flip side, you get a great view of the overall stage production
and the show's progression.
Plus, it definitely saves you some energy!

My Dinh National Stadium Location
How to Get There from Hanoi's Old Quarter
📍 Sân vận động Quốc gia Mỹ Đình
1 Đ. Lê Đức Thọ, Từ Liêm, Hà Nội, Vietnam
My Dinh Stadium is located in the western part of Hanoi, in the Tu Liem district.
It's quite a distance from **Hoan Kiem Lake**, a popular spot for tourists.
**About 25-30 minutes by car.**
From Noi Bai Airport, you're looking at around 40-50 minutes.
**The surrounding area isn't a tourist hotspot.**
It's close to My Dinh, known as the Korean town, so it has more of a local residential vibe.
You'll find convention centers and office towers concentrated here,
but **there aren't many commercial areas to explore like the Old Quarter's charming alleyways.**

So, when considering accommodations in this area,
you shouldn't ask 'Is this good for sightseeing?'
Instead, it's all about **'How quickly can I get to the stadium?'**
Recommended Hotels Near My Dinh Stadium
Walkable Sheraton Hotel
(Formerly Hyatt Hotel & Crowne Plaza)
The Sheraton Hotel is situated along Le Duc Tho Street,
practically right next to the stadium.
It's pretty much the **only 5-star option you can walk to and from.**
📍 Sheraton
36 Le Duc Tho Street Tu Liem Ward, Từ Liêm, Hà Nội 10000 Vietnam
📍 Sân vận động Quốc gia Mỹ Đình
1 Đ. Lê Đức Thọ, Từ Liêm, Hà Nội, Vietnam
📍Sheraton Hanoi West📍
A 5-10 minute walk.
As part of the Marriott family, the bedding and lounge services feel familiar,
and the staff at the 24th-floor club lounge are incredibly friendly and helpful.

→ Just a heads-up: there's another Sheraton in Hanoi with a very similar name.
So, when you book, **make sure you choose the one with 'West' in its name** — that's the one near My Dinh Stadium. Double-check!
There are stories of travelers accidentally going to the other branch and having to relocate.

👍 The biggest perk of this hotel can actually be summed up in one phrase.
No need to hail a Grab after the show.
I mentioned exiting earlier, and it's absolutely true.
Waiting for a car when tens of thousands of people are leaving all at once, versus just walking straight back to your room – it's a huge difference.
Especially when you're sweaty and exhausted.
🤔 The only downside is that dining options for dinner nearby are limited.
However, if you're craving Korean food, the nearby Korean Town, My Dinh, is brimming with Korean restaurants, so you'll actually have a wide array of choices.

If you plan to see both days of the show, starting your search here is the way to go.
The difference in stamina between making four round trips and just walking is quite significant.
Five-star hotels near the stadium have limited rooms, so it's better to hurry if you want to book for two nights.
JW Marriott & InterContinental Landmark72
Recommended 5-star hotels in Hanoi
They're not within walking distance, but you can reach them from My Dinh Stadium in just 5-10 minutes by car.
📍 JW Marriott Hanoi
No 8 Do Duc Duc Road Tu Liem Ward, Từ Liêm, Hà Nội 100000 Vietnam
📍JW Marriott Hanoi📍
About a 5-minute drive from the stadium.
Set on a lakeside plot, its low-rise, expansive structure means guest rooms have high ceilings and a wonderfully open feel.
Quite a few people choose this hotel specifically for its breakfast.

📍InterContinental Hanoi Landmark72📍
This hotel occupies floors 61-71 of Hanoi's tallest building.
I once stayed here for a night when a holiday special popped up, and the window view was entirely Hanoi city, making it a place where you'd instinctively open the curtains the moment you stepped into the room.

A distinct feature is that the hotel floors are separately located at the top of an office tower, meaning the lobby's flow is separated from the lower floors.
The 71st-floor club lounge is quite expansive.

📍 InterContinental Hanoi Landmark
Keangnam Hanoi Landmark Tower Plot E6, Cau Giay New Urban Area, Yen Hoa Ward, Keangnam, Yên Hòa, Hà Nội, Vietnam
🤔 Realistically, walking to the stadium from either of these two places is challenging.
You'll need to factor in potentially longer waits for vehicles when exiting.
🔻🔻🔻
If you're only attending one day of the show,
or if you prioritize the hotel's amenities and atmosphere more, then these are the perfect options for you.
Instead of sacrificing a bit of travel, you definitely gain a lot in terms of room quality and views.
Staying within walking distance only on the concert day and then moving to one of these for the rest of your trip is also a great combination.

Things to check before booking accommodation in Hanoi's My Dinh area
From here on, I'll briefly share what I felt while living in Hanoi.
My Dinh is Hanoi's representative Korean Town.
With Korean restaurants, Korean supermarkets, and expat apartments clustered together, you'll see a lot of Korean signboards.
But for the same reason,
among the budget accommodations in this area, some cater more to long-term stays or other demands rather than typical tourists.
If you only consider the price,
the vibe in the lobby or elevator might be different from what you expect.
Especially if your trip is for two women,
for a safe visit to Hanoi, I recommend checking reviews before booking to compare how many actual tourists stay there.
→ The four places listed above are all large international chains, so you'll rarely need to worry about such issues there.
Hanoi Old Quarter Accommodation Recommendations & Transport to the Stadium
If you're not just going for the concert,
but also incorporating Hanoi sightseeing into your itinerary,
this area might be a better fit.
Hoan Kiem Old Quarter
is where most Hanoi travelers stay.

The lake, great restaurants, night markets, and massage shops are all within walking distance.
It's a bit far to the stadium, but you'll only be going there one day anyway.
Getting around
Approximately 12km from the Old Quarter to My Dinh Stadium.
A one-way Grab ride is around 150,000 VND.
That's about ~$6 in USD, so even a round trip won't cost more than ~$14.
→ Keep in mind that after the concert, fares will increase and finding a ride will be harder.
It's better to walk a bit away from the stadium before hailing a ride.

When is this option right for you?
-> An itinerary that includes sightseeing for 3 nights or more
-> When ticket prices are already high and you want to reduce accommodation costs
-> If you're only attending the concert for one day
When is this option not right for you?
-> Travelers planning to attend both concert days
-> If you want to shower and lie down right after the concert
The Old Quarter has 3-star hotels starting from around ~$35,
so there's a clear cost difference compared to 5-star hotels near the stadium.
🔻🔻🔻
If you've already spent ~$276 on tickets, it's perfectly reasonable to cut back on accommodation and use the difference for other experiences.
I have a separate post detailing my experience staying at a hotel in the Old Quarter for 3 nights.

The BIGBANG Hanoi concert will be held on October 24th (Saturday) and 25th (Sunday), 2026, at My Dinh National Stadium. General ticket sales will begin on August 17th at 10 AM local Vietnam time.
The most expensive Ultimate VIP ticket is 10.5 million VND (approximately ~$393), and the cheapest CAT 5 (restricted view) ticket is 1 million VND (approximately ~$37). There are two standing seat categories: Ultimate VIP and Standing Zone.
Entry involves two bag checks, so it's advisable to arrive with plenty of time. Printed QR codes must be exchanged for wristbands at the exchange booth on the right after entry. When exiting, thousands of people will leave at once, making it very crowded. It might be difficult to get a Grab, so it's a good idea to decide on your exit direction and a meeting point with your group in advance.
If you're attending both days, the Sheraton Hanoi West, located within walking distance of the stadium, is highly recommended. You can return directly to your accommodation after the concert without waiting for a Grab, which helps conserve energy. When booking, be sure to confirm it's the 'West' branch, as there is another Sheraton with the same name in Hanoi.
The distance from Hanoi's Old Quarter to My Dinh National Stadium is approximately 12 km. The estimated one-way Grab fare is around 150,000 VND (approximately ~$6). Travel time is expected to be about 25-30 minutes by car.
