One day before heading home, I wanted to write a quick post about my wild shopping spree.
My Personal Top 10 Bangkok Shopping List
Big C Market Siam
I had no idea I would spend so much time at Big C Market,
but I seriously shopped till I dropped.

After spending some time at Lumphini Park,
we headed over to Big C Market.
But... we had no idea getting there would be such an adventure.
Taking a bus was just *so* hard,
and seeing a bus driving around with its doors wide open was a total culture shock! lol
SEOUL ZZANG.
To get from Lumphini to Big C Market,
we had to cross a pedestrian overpass and catch Bus 74.
But there were absolutely no signs or directions...
But then, a succession of kind Bangkok locals
kept popping up to help us, which was so heartwarming and funny.
Just as we'd get one thing figured out, someone else would appear
asking us what was going on.
And once that was sorted, an elderly lady would suddenly ask what was wrong. haha
hahahaha They were honestly the kindest people we met on our trip.
In Bangkok, once the light turns red,
it stays red for an eternity,
so some people would actually hop off the bus through the open doors!
There was definitely a sense of organized chaos.
And the fans... ^^; they were basically useless.
I sat right by the window and thought my skin was going to burn off.
The sun is so intense here! It actually hurts ㅠㅠㅠ
But after all that, we finally made it!
Here is my ultimate Big C Market shopping list! !!
0. Mosquito Repellent Spray (Soffell)
Inside Big C, there is a dedicated pharmacy section.
This is where you can buy mosquito repellent, propolis spray, Tiger Balm, and more.
Among them, the mosquito repellent spray is super popular.
Since there are indeed a lot of mosquitoes in Thailand,
I brought after-bite ointment from home,
but heard that local Thai repellent sprays are the absolute best.
I actually used up all the repellent I brought from home, so I bought this one and used it throughout the trip.
It also makes a perfect, practical gift for friends who love camping or outdoor activities in the summer.
1. Propolis Spray
You can find this in the pharmacy section too.
It's highly effective and super affordable, so it's a must-buy if you have a sensitive throat like me.
When I actually sprayed it, it was completely bitter with zero sweetness,
but you can just tell it's going to work wonders whenever you have a sore throat.
Oh, and by the way! If you buy items from the pharmacy section, make sure to pay for them at the pharmacy counter first.
Otherwise, you might get accused of shoplifting like I almost did!
2. Corn Candy
Yes, the famous chewy corn candy!
Since the watermelon and lychee flavors are also quite popular,
I grabbed tons of the corn flavor,
plus some watermelon and lychee ones to try.
It's genuinely one of the most popular souvenirs from Thailand!
Honestly, the taste didn't quite live up to the massive hype for me...
but since you can't easily find it back home, it's still a great, unique souvenir to gift to others.
+ In fact, the corn flavor sold out right after we grabbed the last pack,
and they didn't restock it while we were there. I highly recommend going before 3 PM to grab yours, as it's by far the most popular item!
3. Sunsilk Hair Treatment Mask
This was actually the item I wanted to buy the most!
Since my hair is dry like straw, I use hair masks all the time. I'd heard Sunsilk is amazing,
so tons of travelers stock up on this.
I bought one large tub and one small one, which is the perfect amount.
Just remember, you can't bring this in your carry-on bag, so keep an eye on your checked luggage weight limit!
It's super affordable and works great. Highly recommended!
4. Doi Kham Honey (Royal Emblem)
Doi Kham Honey is super famous as a convenient squeeze-bottle honey!
I don't actually eat honey that often, but the packaging is just so cute
and it looked like a perfect little souvenir, so I grabbed two.
I haven't tried it yet, but it's so cheap that it's definitely worth picking up at least one.
Can't wait to see how it tastes! ~
5. Seaweed Snacks (Big Roll)
These crispy seaweed rolls are incredibly popular as a snack to pair with drinks.
I heard they were amazing so I bought a bunch. Apparently, the green package is the most famous.
The red package is the spicy version.
To be honest, they weren't totally my cup of tea,
but they'd probably make a great light snack to munch on with a cold beer! haha
6. Crispy Chicken Skin Snacks
Now, these were absolutely delicious!
They come in Mala and original flavors, and they're basically deep-fried crispy chicken skins.
But ugh, the portion size is so tiny. The bag is mostly filled with air, lol.
So, I used a little life hack to save space in my suitcase:
just poke a tiny hole using a SIM card ejector tool and squeeze the air out—it works like a charm!
It doesn't affect the taste at all, and it's a lifesaver if you're running out of luggage space.
Out of all the snacks I bought, this was my absolute favorite.
I meant to save it to eat with beer, but I just couldn't stop reaching for it. Pure magic.
Personally, I thought the original flavor was much better than the Mala one.
7. Madame Heng Soap
This is a super famous traditional soap in Thailand.
It's supposed to be amazing for clearing up fungal acne, and some people say it smells exactly like
walking into a Thai massage spa, so I bought two.
However, the scent is much stronger than I expected, so I'm currently just using it as hand soap.
I don't really get breakouts anyway, and I was a bit scared of trying a new soap on my face
and breaking out, so I can't speak to its skincare benefits.
I'd love to hear from anyone who has actually seen great results with this! hahaha
8. Bento Squid Seafood Snack
Bento snacks—apparently everyone knew about these except me!
Highly recommend this as another beer snack! ^^;
It's a spicy, chewy, and deeply flavorful fish sheet,
and that kick of heat makes it surprisingly addictive.
Buying a long multi-pack and tearing them off to hand out to friends is super convenient.
9. Cooling Sanitary Pads
I heard these cooling sanitary pads give you an incredibly refreshing, icy feeling... ^^;
A friend I went on the Mon Jam tour with bought them by mistake,
but she said she actually loved how cool they felt, so my curiosity got the best of me and I bought a pack.
hahaha
Since they're cooling, they'll probably be perfect for the hot summer, right?
My cart is already this full, but nope, we're not done yet~ ^^
10. Bath Bombs
Since moving to my new place, I've been taking a lot of half-body baths.
Bath bombs can be quite pricey back home, so I made a note to stock up in Thailand.
Big C Market actually had a great selection of lovely-smelling bath bombs,
so I grabbed five in rose and jasmine scents! lol
Now that I've tried them, they're pretty decent and do the job.
They bubble up nicely!

11) Cooling Mist
This looked really interesting, and now I kind of regret not buying it.
It would have been perfect for spraying onto my makeup sponge. Oh well, next time!
12) Dried Mango
My mom loves dried mangoes, so—not this exact brand, but...
I picked up some delicious-looking treats, and they turned out to be absolutely amazing!
There weren't any specific super cheap or wildly popular items, so
I'd say just grab whatever looks tasty to you!
13. Tiger Balm (Ointment or Patches)
I thought about getting some of this too but passed, though I saw tons of people stocking up on them.
We bought a lot, but we couldn't leave without a quick trip to the fruit section! ~
I bought some pre-cut mango to eat back at our place,
and oh my, it was so good! Incredibly sweet ~
Now, it’s finally checkout time!
The receipt was written entirely in Thai with no English,
so I couldn't really check the details line-by-line (I gave up)
After shopping for about 3 solid hours, we...
ended up grabbing a quick bite at McDonald's
and took a tuk-tuk back to our hotel. Hahaha!
Also, from the soap section on the first floor
(missed taking a photo, unfortunately!), I bought some flower and elephant soaps.
They smell amazing and were only 50 baht (~$1) each, so I was super happy!
Even without counting the two bottles of mosquito repellent,
look at all of this! Haha.
I laid everything out while packing on our last day.
I thought I bought a ton, but
once I got back home, it felt like there was hardly anything at all.
If only the checked baggage limit wasn't restricted to 15kg!
I tried out the bath bomb, and the water turned this crazy blood-red color—
it was actually pretty terrifying.
It looked more like blood than roses, seriously! LOL, warning: beware of the color!
The delicious-looking dried mango was, of course, a huge hit.
My mom even nagged me, asking why I didn't buy another pack.
Well, I couldn't exactly just go back... T_T
Bento squid snack! Yum, yum.
Just be careful not to get it stuck to your teeth!
Other than that, the famous
silk scarves from Chatuchak Market,
magnets,
and bracelets are also great items to pick up!
While bath bombs and soaps were cheaper at Chatuchak Market,
the quality at Big C Mart was definitely better.

These are my absolute favorite souvenir recommendations.
With so many delicious snacks to choose from, it was such a fun and satisfying shopping spree!
Since the corn candy sells out quickly and is not restocked on the same day, we recommend visiting before 3:00 PM. In addition to the corn flavor, you can also choose watermelon and lychee flavored candies.
Items selected at the pharmacy corner must be paid for separately at that specific counter before leaving the area. Please be careful, as taking these items to the regular supermarket checkout could lead to you being mistaken for a shoplifter.
Since the snack bags contain a lot of air, you can significantly reduce their volume by poking a tiny hole with a SIM card ejector pin to let the air out. Poking a hole does not change the taste of the snacks, making it a useful trick when packing.
You can cross the overpass near Lumphini Park and take bus No. 74 to get to the market. The bus operates with its doors open and only has fans instead of air conditioning, so it can be quite hot and somewhat uncomfortable.
The flower and elephant soaps sold at the soap corner on the 1st floor cost 50 Baht. While the soaps at Chatuchak Market are cheaper, the overall quality of the products at Big C Market is better.
